I'm going to Las Vegas for the first time starting a week from tomorrow. I'll be there for pretty much 4 days and I need suggestions of all the things I must do while there. It's a birthday celebration weekend (29 the following Friday actually) and I got a decent tax return so I have a few bucks to spend. We're staying at the Bellagio and I don't think we have anything concrete planned for our time.

Yes, I know what some of that sounds like...so please have something in addition to "hookers and blow".

If you try seeing Ka (Cirque de Soliel), be sure to get your tickets reserved as soon as you get there. Last time I went to Vegas (for a week), Ka was sold out for 4-5 days in advance.

We really did want to see Cirque de Soliel, but available tickets were pretty far back seats. Didn't look good. :(

Thanks for the ideas, keep em coming!

Dang, it was a great show but when i went there there was only 20 -30 people besides me. Its a great show i dont know how could be so empty. maybe because it was the show at 7 pm.
i also saw Criss Angel, it was good. but Ka set the bar very high.
and the theater is not that big, so even if its all the way at the back you should check it.

Depends on who you are going with. If you're with a bunch of friends and want to party and meet girls then head to the Hard Rock and well...never leave the Hard Rock :).

If you are there on a Sunday just two words of advice: fuckING REHAB!

Since you're staying at Bellagio, here's a tip for the buffet.

If you time it right, you can hit the tail end of the lunch buffet and hit the very beginning of the dinner buffet. I think they switch over around 4:00 PM for dinner (and 11:00AM for breakfast if you want to double up on those instead), and won't charge you for both - you'll pay the first price (I think $10 cheaper or something per person).

The best day? Saturday. They've got a champagne brunch that runs 7-4 followed by gourmet dinner from 4-10. Arrive around 2:30-3 and you'll get the end of the champagne brunch (eggs benedict, omelette bar, pastries) and the beginning of dinner (Kobe beef, beef wellington, prime rib, etc).

Hookers are illegal in Las Vegas. Most of the ones that you'd get are either a) undercover cops or b) going to rob you.

I definitely back the Hard Rock Hotel if it's all dudes. It's pretty much MTV Spring Break near the pool, well stocked with plenty of aspiring models and actresses out for the weekend from SoCal.

I live in Jersey and go out to Vegas once a year. Did Hard Rock for 4th of July in '06, Hard Rock Memorial Day '07, then last year we switched it up and stayed at the Palms for Memorial Day. Had a blast at all three places.

Sunday Rehab at the Hard Rock is hedonistic, just be prepared to drop some serious coin. Me and 4 other of my friends ran up a tab of over $2,000 two years ago (over the course of 8 hours of drinking and buying rounds for every group of girls to walk by our cabana)

I'm going back the last weekend of June (Hard Rock), GAHHH!!! this thread has me chomping at the bit.

Where my P90x DVDs? Need me some abs!

I'm googling some of this stuff for the Sunday Rehab and the shows.

......I fucking love CAG. Sweet. I'm setting up the plans, but it's me and a few female friends actually. Good stuff so far.

If you bring them to Rehab I hope they are not shy or self-conscious. ;)

"O", the Cirque du Soleil in the the Bellagio's theater, is pretty amazing.

Zia Records is the Vegas equivalent of Amoeba (a huge independent record store with a little bit of everything) and really the only good place left in the city to buy music.

If it's you and a bunch of dudes and you want to go club save the hassle and just spend some cash to get on the guest list. If you have girls with you that will really help your odds not needing to give advance notice. Bonus if they are hot.

I went to Tao Beach on Sunday last week and it was pretty cool. Tons of great looking people. And it has zero cover. You can RSVP here:http://giantclub.com/taobeach/

Make sure you buy some booze so you can enjoy drinks in your room, it's much cheaper then getting all your booze from the Casino bars. If you have girls with you again, the Fashion show Mall is pretty damn nice. And it's great to blow cash at the mall and actually leave with something tangible.

Go easy on the gambling, you can drop cash like crazy. I say put some money on some sports games so at least you can ejoy your bet for over an hour.

make sure you visit: the fountains outside bellagio, the rooftop at old las vegas, the M&M's store, the Circus Circus, Venezzia, Treasure Island (Ship). I cant remember anything else.
Circus Circus is old, but it has some nice shows with jugglers and the sort and it has a roller coaster and games inside.
New York has Rollercoasters too.
Excalibur has a show(i didnt see, but) i think with knights.lol
BTW, the vampire girls show is topless. dont remember the name right now, but i might have some magazines from when i went, so ill look it up.
If you really like roller coaster you can go to the one on top of the Hotel, the one like the tower in Seattle.
Theres a restaurant in the corner, next to the New York and across the street from the Coca Cola store. Dont remember the name but it seems really cool.I think it was something like 'devil'.
Anyway all of the above is just for your first day. lol. theres tons of things to do. i think there was also a bar at the luxor/madalay bay(not sure if its still there), where everything was made of ice, the name is 'below 5' or something like that. i live in minnesota so i didnt go. but if you want to get cold for a while you should go.

why go to shows when you can play blackjack all day and get free newcastles.

memorize this

i did before i went to vegas a few weeks ago. that was the first trip i went to vegas where i left with more money than i came with. im posting this from my new computer and reading this thread on my new 22" lcd monitor.
See "Phantom" (of the Opera). I don't remember the hotel it was in, but it is absolutely a kick ass show.

~HotShotX
Phantom is in the Venetian.

I would avoid the Wynn Buffett. It is good, but it's also like ~$36/person, and is not THAT good.

Get In and Out while you're there if you haven't had it. There's one just off strip by NY, NY. You need to either take a car or taxi there, you can not walk there unless you don't mind running across a major highway.
How do you Surrender in Blackjack?
Basically, it's if your hand sucks royally and the dealer has a strong hand showing:

Surrender offers you as a player the choice to fold your hand, at the cost of half of the original bet. You must make that decision prior to taking any other action on the hand. For example, once you draw a third card, or split, or double down, surrender is no longer an option.

Spearmint Rhino is pretty top-shelf if you're interested in going to a strip club. Most of the other stuff I would mention already has been. There's a Fatburger on the strip - if you haven't had it before/don't have it where you live, you should get it at least once in your life.

Great tip from JJSP re: the buffet switch.

casino royale is the one shitter place on the strip....but it does have $1 michelobs. so its nice to walk by and pick up a couple beers while walking the strip.
Ka is definitely worth it.
in & out burger is $$$ need to run by there to get a double double + fries and a shake.
Grand lux cafe is a steal for lunch specials. its at the Venetian, believe they run lunch until around 5pm. they are like a sister company of cheesecake factory. awesome food and large orders at a cheap price. there is also one downtown chicago(somwhere on Michigan ave) dunno if you been there before.
if you do get a hooker, dont pay first, my buddy did and she ran away with his money
This is actually true; I know the guys that this happened to as well and those bitches really did take the money and run.

This is what I do:

Step 1: Show them the money.

Step 2: Give them half when you slip it in and...

Step 3: half when you cum in their anals.

when you check in slip a $20 in between your credit card and id. And when they ask you what that is for tell them its your birthday and if they have any complementary upgrades. Once you get one ask for passes to any clubs and if you can get a complementary bottle of champaign.

watch a love @ mirage. eat at SW at the wynn. & hit up a strip club. If you have a lot of people, get a limo service that will get you vip service to a club and strip club.

You need to look up the seating setup. Somethings its better to sit in the back to see the whole view. When you are too close you end up missing parts of the show.

The posted blackjack card has some flaws in it. I'll post up a better one later.

Also make sure you learn a simple +1 -1 counting system. Don't forget the one dollar foot long hot dogs if you're trying to roll cheap.

The diner at Stratosphere stays open 24/7 and runs "late night" specials too - steak and eggs for $4.99 from 12AM - 6AM, and their version of Denny's Grand Slam is $2.99. Kinda off the strip as it's up near the top of it, but killer for drunken 3AM breakfasts.

Go see Blue Man Group at the Venetian if you can. Really a great show. Also, if you're up for some cheesy entertainment, Excalibur is running a local's special (2-for-1) for their "Knights of the Round Table" dinner show. They normally run $54.95 a piece, but for two people that ain't bad. Let me know if you're interested as I can run down and pick you up a pair of tickets. I'll let you know if there's any other local specials going on as well. :)
oh yah. don't forget to go to gamestop.
You stay the hell away from my Gamestops. ;)
