1. I can't get into the member's area/can't find out where to pay. Help!

After the initial registration email, you should receive a second email linking you to a payment page. You can request that this email be resent if need be. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well.

2. Will this work on consoles?

No. Games and most accessories only. Physical point cards are also eligible, but not digital point codes.

3. Do these work on Quick Picks/Deals of the Day/Trade-in Coupons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

4. How do I get my Quick Picks to show games?

This should be a basis to get it to work for whatever you are interested in. It is not a science though so be persistent.

5. Does this work on Pre-orders?

Yes, it does. The price will also automatically take off 10% of whatever the final selling point is due to the Pre-Price Guarantee that Amazon offers.

6. I have heard that these offers have expired/been removed, is this true?

There have been a few instances where codes expired or they ran out but The ECA and Amazon have usually rectified the situation within a week or so. Also, the Terms of Service state that any membership benefits can change or be canceled without any notice so keep that in mind when signing up.


7. Double and Triple stacking

This is no longer possible. Don't bother trying. Originally when the ECA would run out of codes and switch to a new batch members were able to stack codes. A glitch in Amazon's system would keep older codes in your account, and it was possible to add codes from the newer batches to obtain more than 10% off. Amazon found out about this, hence the reason the codes are currently down/ being worked on.

8. Begging/Asking for codes

This is not allowed. If you beg/ask for a code you will be permabanned. No questions asked.

9. Selling codes

Definitely a big no no. If you do this, you will get reported to the ECA and your account will be shut down.

10. If I make a pre-order with a code a cancel it, will the code still work?
Yes. Codes should remain in your account but again they will no longer stack. It is one code per game. Amazon and the ECA are working on codes tied into our accounts but this option is not yet available.

11. If I already have a pre-order made, can I add a 10% off code to it?

You can not add a anything to an order once it is made except a gift card. You can try emailing Amazon customer support and ask them to add it. Generally they have no issue doing this for you but it's a crap shoot.

12. What if I already have a pre-order with the old codes applied? Should I be worried?

We don't know definitively, but chances are good that Amazon will not touch the pre orders we have already made.[/QUOTE]

I've been trying to get Professor Layton 2 in my goldbox for a while, and now a week before it comes out, I finally get it, and the ECA codes run out. They better get more by the end of the day. I also have Scribblenauts in my gold box, which I would get too.
 
Can someone PM me a link for how to get these types of Gold Boxes? I get random garbage in mine. I've searched everywhere but I can't find a guide or what.
 
Start rating things related to the items you want. If you want xbox items rate a lot of xbox items high and say that you own them. Clear your browsing history and only click on things you want. Or just keep you browsing history clear.
 
To those with items in their Gold Box Quick Picks today:

If the game is a pre-order, just place the order now while you're getting the small discount. When the codes are working again, contact Amazon Customer Service through their site and send them one of the working codes and ask for the code to be applied to the order.

I've successfully done this about 5 or 6 times and they were cooperative every time. If not, you can always cancel your order.

I got ODST in my GB today - so i was debateing if it was worth it and the CS dept would apply the code at a later date.

Edit: NM - realized i had something else preordered with a code attached. Cancelled that - put both in my cart and checked out - Worked Fine :)

And would this stack with the inevitable console deals on Black Friday? I wouldn't mind getting a PS3 for 10% off the Black Friday price and somehow getting cash back with Bing.

ECA only works with games. And Amazon isn't a Bing cashback store.

Codes still are not online as of 5 a.m. CDT.

Could have gotten Muramasa The Demon Blade for $40, it's in my quick picks. How long does it usually take for the codes to come back? The game releases September 8th so it would suck if the codes weren't back by then and I placed a pre-order.

Got some good old Hannah Montana in my quick picks today. Damn.
 
I'd say just order whatever you want is in your quick picks and call amazon later with a code(or cancel it before it ships if the codes still aren't working).

Each time the codes have ran out or expired, its taken about a week for them to come back up.

Except for when they ran out last week and they were replenished in less than an hour. Most people probably didn't even notiice it because it got fixed so quickly. It worries me that it is taking so much longer this time. It is one thing when they expire, but we're nowhere close to that now. They just flat ran out and unlike last time it is taking way too long to get them back.

A couple of questions. Sorry if they've been answered.

1) Can I use a school account to sign up and later change that email to another account, e.g. gmail.

2) Does the membership end a year from the day you join or ends at the end of the calendar year?

I can't recall ever receiving bulk e-mails from them. No idea whether its shared, though I doubt it. Check the fine print.
 
Cancelling an old order to reuse the ECA code is creating problems with other coupons.

Im having a problem with a 50% coupon from the july trade in promotion not applying to the most expensive item in my cart. I had previously ordered COD:MW2 Prestige with the 50% off code and an eca code bringing the total down to $60. Today I wanted to order Batman:AA but the eca codes were not working so I decided to cancel the MW2 preorder and reorder both items in order to reuse the old eca code and get the discount. Unfortunately the 50% code is now being applied to Batman instead of MW2 which is a $50 difference. So far the Amazon CSR's are clueless and are telling me to split it into 2 orders, which I can't do until more ECA codes are release. Any ideas?
 
Unfortunately, I tried adding MW2 first and it did not work. The irritating thing is the CSR's (even the supervisor I spoke to) are acting like I'm running some sort of scam because I have a 50% off code, a 10% ECA code and the $5 arkham code all on the same order, not to mention I'm paying for it completely with credit.

I'm losing $48.50 from the code applying to the wrong item so it looks like I'll have to cancel and reorder separately and hope new ECA codes arrive in time to order batman.

just sign up with your .mil address and then after you pay your fee change it to your regular email

and I guess when it comes time to renew do the whole thing again

Uncharted 2
Gran Turismo 5
Metal Gear Solid Rising
1600 points card
God of War 3
120 gb 360 hard drive

Ordered Uncharted 2 and I wanted to order the 1600 points card but I don't have any ECA code for it and more importantly it won't get added to my cart from the quick pick page :cry:. I think its because it's the online code and it seems like there is a different process to ordering those.
 
I'm about to just pre-order a bunch of stuff and cancel in a few days. I've been browsing the crap out of games, rating/"I own" to even more. Forget the 4 games in my recommendations I really want, I just want to see A GAME from my recommendations, out of the now like 30, in there. I just feel weird pre-ordering a ton and canceling, like I'm screwing with amazon's inventory or computer systems. But at the same time, my quick picks are beyond worthless right now so maybe I just will.

Well, you do know you can only purchase one of your quick picks per day, right?
 
You can do more than 1 a day, just open a seperate tab or something. Considering I've never gotten even 1 good item I've wanted, I don't know out of experience but people do order more than 1 of their quick picks in the same day.
