If you use the code GIMAG on theeca.com (found in an article of the new Crackdown GI issue), you can receive a free, full 1 year membership (I think it's only for new accounts). You do need a credit card to sign up, but if you cancel before the 1 year is up, you won't be charged. This is a great deal for the free amazon discount. Be sure to use the coupon soon, because the article doesn't mention the expiration for the coupon.

Enjoy guys!
dallascowboys

P.S. Now all of CAG can have an ECA membership!

Also, after you enter your CC number and the coupon, the page after lets you check everything before you submit your order. That way you know that the coupon worked and you won't be charged.

LinkinPrime Edit:

Check your spam filters for the confirmation link, if you signed up for the newsletter you will get 2 emails, one for the newsletter and one for the membership. For some reason the newsletter one showed up in my inbox and the membership was in my junk mail folder, so keep an eye out.

You weren't kidding. Ok I found this on page 28. All credit goes to jacknicklson for the original faq (1-6).

ECA/Amazon FAQ

1. I can't get into the member's area/can't find out where to pay. Help!

After the initial registration email, you should receive a second email linking you to a payment page. You can request that this email be resent if need be. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well.

2. Will this work on consoles?

No. Games and most accessories only. Physical point cards are also eligible, but not digital point codes.

3. Do these work on Quick Picks/Deals of the Day/Trade-in Coupons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

4. How do I get my Quick Picks to show games?

http://betterelevation.com/2009/02/1...old-box-trick/
This should be a basis to get it to work for whatever you are interested in. It is not a science though so be persistent.

5. Does this work on Pre-orders?

Yes, it does. The price will also automatically take off 10% of whatever the final selling point is due to the Pre-Price Guarantee that Amazon offers.

6. I have heard that these offers have expired/been removed, is this true?

There have been a few instances where codes expired or they ran out but The ECA and Amazon have usually rectified the situation within a week or so. Also, the Terms of Service state that any membership benefits can change or be canceled without any notice so keep that in mind when signing up.

7. Double and Triple stacking

This is no longer possible. Don't bother trying. Originally when the ECA would run out of codes and switch to a new batch members were able to stack codes. A glitch in Amazon's system would keep older codes in your account, and it was possible to add codes from the newer batches to obtain more than 10% off. Amazon found out about this, hence the reason the codes are currently down/ being worked on.

8. Begging/Asking for codes

This is not allowed. If you beg/ask for a code you will be permabanned. No questions asked.

9. Selling codes

Definitely a big no no. If you do this, you will get reported to the ECA and your account will be shut down.

10. If I make a pre-order with a code a cancel it, will the code still work?

Yes. Codes should remain in your account but again they will no longer stack. It is one code per game. Amazon and the ECA are working on codes tied into our accounts but this option is not yet available.

11. If I already have a pre-order made, can I add a 10% off code to it?

You can not add a anything to an order once it is made except a gift card. You can try emailing Amazon customer support and ask them to add it. Generally they have no issue doing this for you but it's a crap shoot.

12. What if I already have a pre-order with the old codes applied? Should I be worried?

We don't know definitively, but chances are good that Amazon will not touch the pre orders we have already made.
When you redo you preorders do you get to use the future game credits again or do you lose them?

I have an order that has a $10 and a $5 credit on it from prior game purchases. If i cancel the order will the next game order use the $10 & $5 credit or will I lose them?

Thanks

I used the $15 credit from the Halo ODST promotion to preorder Modern Warfare 2. If I cancel the Modern Warfare preorder now, will I lose the $15 credit or will it be returned to my account to be applied towards my next order? Anyone know?

It will be applied to the next order.

The credit should be returned to you. The $5 credit I got for UC2 keeps applying if I cancel the order I used it on. I just tried it again couple minutes ago adding another ECA code so yeah, it should be returned to your account .
wont be charged till the order is shipped
What about orders that include items that ship at different times? For example Demon Soul's ships on the 6th, while Brutal Legend ships on the 13th.
If I have a $10 promo GC (from Kingdom Hearts) and preorder a bunch of games with these codes will they apply the $10 promo GC to the first game that ships or spread it out?
My 30$ coupon code from trading in games did not go to the first game, it did spread out. I don't know if the credit after purchase works the same.
Sorry to repeat myself- but does anyone know how to activate the release date delivery on these multi-item orders?

I don't want to contact amazon about it if it can be avoided.
I have a huge order, like three of them I know offer release date delivery, but none give me the option. Pretty sure for most people they get the same, you probably need to contact them in this case if you want release day.
You probably won't get the code back. I've had orders with two pre-order items, canceled one, and I did not get a code back. That's just my experience but from that I'd say you won't get the code back in your case.
Thank you, def. not worth taking the risk of trying.

Thanks to the ECA, Amazon, CAGers. I will not need to purchase games for half a year now (hopefully haha).

Does anyone have a code I can use? I'm trying to preorder a game that showed up late today in my GB. I can't generate one anymore because I used one earlier today.

Enough flashing orders about code stacking and begging for codes. It's littering up the thread, and we don't need it.

Some other cleanup on the thread is forthcoming.

Oddly enough I doubt amazon will cancel these as this brought it so many orders for them most likely. They may but the money they will make from the extra orders probably exceeds the money lost lol.
i'm worried about contact them, and someone calling shenanigans on my discounts.
I would as well, which is why I won't bother. fsss versus release I could see, but 2day or release day? Pfft, barely a difference.
Sorry to repeat myself- but does anyone know how to activate the release date delivery on these multi-item orders?

I'm not sure if anyone's answered you yet, but you can only get release date delivery (RDD) on an order if everything in that order is eligible for it. So if you ordered 3 games in one order and 1 of those does not have RDD, then you cannot get it for anything in that order. You would have to make a separate order with only items eligible for RDD.

I ordered 8 games today in one order and 5 of them were eligible for release date delivery. Amazon separated the three not eligible and made them a separate order. I did however have trouble getting release date delivery on a much larger order I did a couple days ago.
I hope amazon doesn't cancel all the orders after the onslaught of 30% off orders.
This question my possibly be answered with a simple read of pass pages, but I fear wasting my time if those posts concerning my question has been deleted.

But here is my question: How do you get the 30% off a game deal? I do have an ECA account (with the GIMAG deal) and I placed an order for MW2 last night with only a 10% off code. So is there a way to get me a better deal with this 30% off deal?

You need to stack codes from months ago (which you don't have and can't get anymore).

Btw, I can't gain access to my open orders section on my account. I hope that isn't any indication of my code stacking under review...

I have prime. I ordered 4 items, 2 of them had release date delivery and 2 did not. Amazon automatically split those two orders up so that 2 of them ship 2 day and the others on release date.
They split my order in 2 also since I'm a Prime member. I didnt know why until I read here.
Yeah same here. It really throws me off sometimes when they do that. It especially threw me for a loop eariler when I thought I canceled an order with ECA codes on it and didn't get any back in my account...I later realized that one of the items had been separated because it had free release date shipping.

It's nice that it does that and slightly annoying when it comes to doing that WITH ECA codes.

Redoing all my orders at 30% off. Pretty insane prices considering most of them are pre-orders with $10 GC cards. This will put most BF deals to shame.

Yes, once an item in your order ships, the code is locked into that unique order number and will not show up again should you cancel the remaining items in the order.

Really weird thing just happened with my orders.... check it out..

Total Before Tax: $115.77 Estimated Tax: $0.00
I ordered GoW Collection, Uncharted 2 and GoW 3.

I can't tell what most of those discounts are. I double stacked the J and number codes.

edit nevermind i figured it out. It spread my discounts around weird but the numbers all add up to the correct amount. Got excited for nothing heh :(

but still good deal 115.77 means i paid around 38.59 for each game.

If you did a double stack (20% off), then your total should be around $120.77 (159.97*0.80). I don't know why your receipt look so complicated, maybe promotions/credits from past purchases?

Double stack + $5 promo code. The order is split into two smaller orders because one likely has faster shipping than the other. It takes the 10% off each smaller order and splits the $5 promo code by percentage of the total order. Amazon is pretty crazy sometimes.

Oh wow, didn't know Amazon does that. My $850 order looks pretty insane as well, they chopped it up into 3 separate orders because I have Prime and release date delivery options.

Rewarded my main Amazon account with Prime ... Amazon has definitely earned it and that account was able to get off one last multiple ECA huzzah tonight. Cheers CAGers

Same here, just got Prime and will keep it. Amazon deserves my business not just with these awesome prices (intentional or not), but their customer service and return policy is top notch as well. Definitely the place I'll be getting all my new releases from.

Yeah, Amazon has been getting my money for years. I used to hit up Best Buy every week or once a month, but I rarely go there anymore. If I knew how much money I spent there in total, I... I don't want to know.

Having the ECA Discount + Prime is almost dangerous. I buy so much stuff from Amazon that I think I could open a store.

just caught wind of this....cancelled my demons soul collectors...brought out a code I forgot to use and got another today...

So far in the cart I have

Demons Soul (non ce)
GoW Collection
Uncharted 2
New Super Mario Bros

And debating between either Brutal Legend or Assassins Creed 2...also Ratchet and Clank (currently RaC Future is in my backlog...) Thank you CAG and too bad I did not have an L code.

true...turns out I didnt pull the trigger on all those...reason being....TRU will soon (hopefully) have their annual B2G1 deal...which will save me more on Brutal Legend, Uncharted2, and Demons Soul. The sale is usually sometime in Oct, and should be after those games are released

EDIT::: With the 10 for brutal legend and the 5 for uncharted it brings the price to 121 pre tax...which is almost the same as what the games would cost at TRU... Not bad at all. I have some decisions to make...if only I had an L eca code...oh well.

I also have only 1300 to last my until december (when I get my other college refund check).

I also might get DJ Hero as my guilty purchase.

I also have a question...more of a re-verification. I have read the boards and everything, and I am sure I saw this, I just don't feel like re-reading, its 5am and I have not gone to bed yet. So if i preoder a game for fake, and than cancel it later, no matter how much later, I still get the codes right?

Like I know you can do it short time, I did tonight. But what about say 2 weeks from now? Once I cancel a preorder is the coupon still valid (and one of them was from the batch that expired on 9/30).

Thanks...please don't respond by saying comb the boards. Save me some time please. The way I look at it is if you are going to take the time to respond back to me, you might as well give me the answer instead of a scolding.
