Free FFXI Beta for 360 owners

i think the reason why they did it is that some people with 50"+ screens said that the text was too small, so rather than implementing a system where you can change it manually, they made it bigger for all HDTV users.


Edit: Heres a pic i took yesterday of my trip to do the Eco Warrior quest. Started with 18 people, 3 found out that they hadnt started the quest (idiots), 3 died fighting gobs on the way in, 7 died fighting the monster, and out of the 5 people you see standing, only me and Bobak walked out of the cave (one other person warped home).

Thats funny, i was in a party last night, i am level 8 blm now and everyone was around the same, the warriors didnt even provoke, what a waste, whoever said be a blm was right, it is so much easier and funnier, no more tanking days for me.
I really hope we can keep our stuff after the beta is done, i dont know if i can go through all this again.
 
take this lesson, don't do Ecowarrior with idiots =p.

Ecowarrior is actually pretty easy compared to BCNM 30 in giddius. Problem is getting people to do it right
 
Every time I have ever done an Eccowarrior we had higher lvl escorts. They would clear a path to the NMs and back again. Then we would trade off and escort them. It was easy/fun/safe. You can do it all with less people that way.
 
I farmed for a bit and now I have all the gear I need just about (+10 dex and +9 acc woot)
Gonna be hard to find a pt though. Mediocrity continues otherwise....

1 more lvl till viperbite tho, when that happens man... unf unf
 
Dumb question how does one take up farming?
Im online now and will be for the next 4 -5 hrs probably so do a /t Dijital to chat w/me
 
"Farming" as Buk "Zoglog" is refuring to it is killing things for items to sale. For example you can farm crawlers for silks to sale a stack of 12 for 6k in windy. So to start farming you only need to start killing.
If you want to grow plants then you need to get some seeds and a pot.
















God I claimed NM for Signa 3 times no drop (outside of Mitts). Claimed Lizzy 4 times no drops. Claimed Nm for Lantern Shield 3 times no drops.


On the top of my want list atm is
Monster Signa
Night Cape or that other +3 evasion cape
Lantern Shield
Battle Mitts
Leaping Boots or the ones like it that are crafted.
Emp Pin
Hope rings once someone on this server can make them.
Reraise earings
Balance Rings+
A better belt but I dont know what I want. Maybe Warrior belt.

hmm I ran through the grotto yesterday and NM happened to be there o_O.. dropped preists robe.

FFXI expansions are retarded. You won't even get to the meat of Zilart until you hit lvl 70.
 
Yea, but the first quest for Aht Urhgan is already startable, theres a new NPC in each hometown that asks u to recruit 20 mercenaries. Then you get a yellow, red, or white invitation (depending on color of hometown icon). But of course the quest cant be completed as you have to take the invitation to Art Urhgan.

Plus at least the expansion has 2 new classes. Blue mage is gonna rock if they let you learn 1k/10k needles or Bad Breath.
 
Bez will you come key/chest hunt and NM camp with me tonight? With any of your jobs. First I want Battle Gloves. We can try to get two one for each of us if needed. I am logged in King R tomb if you want to make your way to that region b4 I log in at 5-6 central.
 
1k needles is an AOE attack and somehow I doubt they'd overpower the job =p.

battlegloves are cheap I think, should just buy

As of last night I got my new axe 10k, Chain mail 16k, and Sandy Trousers 10.5k. So I am broke. And those glove are like 6-9k in sandy.

Im headed out in a bit to Outback for dinner, hopefully i'll be back by 8. Ill probably be on til 1-2 am after that, so yea, i'll help ya. Just looked up the battle gloves, yea, my THF could definately use those. Im unfortunately only lvl 14 on my thf, so no TH, so i guess ill help ya as the 24mnk/12thf.

No!!! You fell for the AH greedy bastards on that chainmail. Theres a shop in Bastok that sells all the chainmail parts significantly cheaper than AH prices. You can get the Chainmail body anywhere from 14k-14.7k at the shop. If you plan on buying anymore go there to save a few k. Its in Bastok Mines a little behind the AH.

Seems like the CAG linkshell is dead, everyone has their other ones. I could still use some help (preferrably from a THF with TH) getting a Palborough Key. was in the mines for 2.5 hours killing Copper/Old/Brass's nonstop. All i got was a buncha fetich parts & water crystals >

Bezerker if I got to travel to do it I will get you a shell tonight. We have all moved to a lvl 30+ experianced kickass LS. Its full of old friends and we do lots of LS events and well its just kickass. So far I have done 20BCNMs with them. Did M3-3 and going to do M4-3 soon.
They are doing another M3-3 run like tomorrow.
I am doing several more BCNM runs tonight I think.
We are doing M4-3 Rank4 maybe tonight.
We are doing Eco Warriors for Windy and Sandy and maybe Bast this weekend.
We have been helping on advanced jobs a lot. I know I have stopped to help ppl get Rubies/do NIN quest/SAM quest. Ect..



Buk sorry to see ya go man. But I know you really were not happy and I think this is a good decision for you. Hope to see you around in other games though.

Yea I really Like this LS. Everyone knows there shit compared to other LS's out there that I often make fun of (EX. DivineXM is laughable).

I am also going to try to get my BST to 20 ASAP so I can do those BCNM easy.
I'm down to help any sub-job BUT SMN again ( that shit sucked right zewone? ). That shit is just too hard to get the drop. I dont even think Kappy got one yet and he's been tring for like 13+ hours looking.

I would also like to Thank Brevity for his all his help in this LS. Also thanks to everyone who has helped me in the past.

One more thing did Square ever say how long this Beta will run?

Like Brevity Said I'm Cyrril. I work just about all day but I'll be on by like Midnight EST. If your on still i'll help ya. You Still need Bastok key right.

Yea, i finally got my other key, apparently only the ones on the stairs to dragon drop the key (wouldve liked to know that about 5 hours before starting in there). Up to lvl 27 in Kazham right now.

Yea Bukkake, if you dont what your character i'd be glad to take it :p. Save me the trouble of going to Norg.
 
I know this thread kind of died, but I am a 18 War now. I am trying to build up to do the sub-job quest for more than a week, but I never can get into a party for the dunes. Does anyone have any advice?
