I'm not sure how to get the plush without buying it. I got that code over a year ago because GameStop took forever to ship me a retro lancer and gave me that code and a partial refund since I was waiting so long for it to ship.

I think it's safe to assume that it's not lying to you. Codes posted on CAG are usually gone within 20-30 minutes at the most, so a code from yesterday has definitely been used.
