Game saves on the Wii

On what sort of media do I save the Wii games saves? Is it the SD card? Or can we still use the GCN memory cards?

By default, they will go to the onboard flash memory.

The manual apparently says you can backup the saves to an SD card, but that wasn't an option through the interface yet. Might be one of those things that shows up right after the first firmware update.
