Sales Rumors/Upcoming Deals

No current sales rumors or upcoming deals at this time. Every sale that was listed here has now been confirmed as being active.

Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

Reported Trade-In Prices

Trade-In Price Wiki

Yeah, totally off-topic, but can anyone login to Yahoo Mail? What about craigslist or MySpace? I keep getting errors and Im not sure if its my internet.
Picked up:

Shadowhearts Covenent PS2 $7.50
Psychonauts Xbox $7.50
Timesplitters PS2 $3.50 (going to mail this in to Wherehouse.com it gets $18.50 there)
I bet there are a few that get good wherehouse credit. Hell wherehouse is still giving $10 for Powerdrome Racing.

For the prices in the OP I got tonight at two GR's
Texas Hold 'EM f/ DS
Polarium
LOZ2 f/ GBA
Castlevania GBA
Killer 7 GCN
Viewtiful Joe PS2
Project Snowblind XB

All for under 30 bucks. Badass deal thanks OP and CAG. May check one more GR before this is cleaned out.
Therefore I could not get the $5 bonus on two towers or XIII (retails $4.99). I kept XIII since they only were paying $.25 and the bonus would not work.
Considering XIII is $2.50 NEW at GR, I can see why they wouldn't give a $5 bonus on that one...heh.

Americanpierg: There's several lists like that posted a few pages back.

did they take into account the new clerance prices? if so, you are my hero, i can mail u a cookie if u want
Yeah, I got a couple that were marked wrong yesterday. The manager pulled off the "wrong" tags, said "she tagged them wrong", and sold them to me for the correct price :D. Oh well... And today I think the MP2's were marked $4.25, but they rang up $5. No big deal really, especially after I got over $100 in credit from trading in 8 cheap games.
In a lot of states, that's a crime. I.E. a store must honor the price tag that's on the item. It's probably also Blockbuster policy to honor the tagged price.

It's not illegal in this state, but when I worked in retail people tried to say it was all the time. However, these were idiots that couldn't read sale signs and always grabbed whatever was sitting next to the sign and wanted it for the sale price. I think there has to be a few people that actually go into stores like Meijer and Wal-Mart that have sale sign policies (i.e. if an item is sitting in front of a sale sign, it must be sold for that price) and move the signs around so they can save a few bucks. It seems like I saw the same bitches pulling the sign trick every week when I was a cashier, and depending on the manager, they pretty much always got whatever price they said it was.

So if there's a $100 dress and it ends up on the $10 clearance rack, they'd get it for $10...even though they're probably the ones that slipped it onto the rack. Pretty much the same thing as shoplifting and definitely illegal in all 52 states (price switching).

Why is that? FP is newer and better and it gets half that?

So I don't think there are any GameRushes around me, but this is good at regular Blockbusters, too? Are the prices marked, or do I have go on faith they'll ring up correctly?
So I don't think there are any GameRushes around me, but this is good at regular Blockbusters, too? Are the prices marked, or do I have go on faith they'll ring up correctly?
As the OP says, these prices are good at regular Blockbusters as long as they are not franchised stores. As for whether the prices are marked, that's going to entirely depend on whether the store you go into has changed the tags. The prices are changed in the computer system though, so the games will ring up correctly.

went to my blockbuster today, they didn't have crap. they had like 12 games, and half of them were mgs3. there were a few i was wanting to get, especially xenosaga since i can't seem to get one anywhere else.

just so you know, you can't trade in many of the clearance items because to get the $5 it has to retail in store for $7.99 or more, and these new clearance prices ARE the ones in the system. it doesn't take the discount off at the register like before. plus because they are on clearance they might not even buy them back.

I'm not sure if this question is already answered, but I'll ask anyhow. Does each GameRush have a different 75% off list of games? Let's say if DOA: Ultimate is marked $5.00 at one GR, does it mean it's also $5.00 at another GR even though the game is not blue dotted and is on retail shelf?

Also these are the trade-in prices I got today (before $5 bonus):

GameCube:
-Timesplitters 2 - $1 (qualifies for $5 bonus somehow)
-Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - $6

XBox 360:
-GUN - $32
-Project Gotham Racing 3 - $28.50
-Perfect Dark Zero (regular) - $25
-Condemned: Criminal Origins - $28.50

PS2: (none qualify for $5 bonus)
-Killer 7 - $0.50
-Rumble Roses - $0.25
-Rise of Kasai - $1
-Clock Tower 3 - $1.25

This is very off-topic, but Canada isn't worthy of being a state and the U.S. isn't worthy of having Mexico as a state...and yet, they're our little step children and we've adopted them. Some day we may even make it official. Until then, I say beat all Canadians like the redheaded step children they are.

CAGwiki updated to this point, including Botticus's $1 Bomberman DS trade, which I guess he was so disgusted with that he didn't want to enter it himself .
man...this thread really dies at 5 in the morning...

anyone know if/when gamerushes will be doing wii/ps3 preorders?
Today, I was told soon, but that means almost nothing :D. I told them to make sure I get on the lists for both systems as I missed the Xbox360 entirely last time (not that I tried too hard).

And it is only 2:30 in the morning :D.
let say i trade in flatout for ps2, would they take another copy, but for xbox in same transaction?
ive traded two of the same games of the same system at once before

I traded in 3 games yesterday....
Driver, Ecko and Castlevania:COD - $59 total wiith $5 bonus...nice

I was looking around the store for 75% off stuff. I saw a few 128MB MSDuo cards. I also saw BEYOND GOOD & EVIL for PS2 for $5. The clearance rack was pretty empty though. Some games still seemed to be on the normal shelved unmarked.
I may go back to get a PSP battery. I saw it there for $8.xx

I also saw a LIVE kit for $17.xx....I may go back and pick that up, I think they had two of them actually. I'll check back Thurs or Friday when I return my rental.

I also filled up a Value Card. $500 is the MAX. I have like $34 on the other...so I'll go use that for some things.

I went into my GR with high hopes last night, but they had removed the 50% off rack and just moved the games back onto their regular display with only slightly reduced prices. Billy Hatcher (just the example that comes to mind) had dropped from 29.99 to 24.99.

Did anyone else have anything like this happen?

If it is a GameRush they are participating in the sale. All GameRushes are owned by corporate, so the prices are programmed directly into their computers. Don't worry if the games aren't marked correctly, they'll ring up at the 75% off price.

quote.. "All current clearance games will become 75% off their original price."

Ok here's my thing, the GR i went to last night didn't even have a clearance section - just new and used games. So, will either of these be affected by the 75% off?

Went to another GR and they were pretty much cleaned out. Only thing left was The Guy Game PS2 and XBOX versions. You think this game is worth $10 credit. I still need to trade in my old games take advantage of the $5 extra. So pretty much all of the games on the OP will not qualify for the extra $5. How long will this $5 offer last?

I've gotten at least one of the titles in the OP to go through with the extra $5 as I think it is based on the used price and not the new price, but this would vary by GR employee. The one that worked for me was Death By Degrees. It had a used price of $12.99 but only a trade-in price of $1. It's $5 new as part of the clearance. Somebody at Blockbuster is really good at math.

As for how long the trade-in deal will last, I'll check on that today.

It seems they dropped most of the clearance game trade-ins to $1 (Death by Degrees, Bomberman, we'll have to see if anyone has any others), since they don't really match what we would expect based on the used prices.

So, here's a question for those of us that don't have a GR in-town, and only seem to have "normal" BB stores that only have games for rent and some few new accessories.

With the 75% off sale, is it pretty much useless for me, unless I have one of the listed accessories at one of my BB's, and it might be the sale price?

Well, most Blockbusters carry some new games, so there might be a few games on the list at one of your local stores. As long as it's a non-franchised Blockbuster, whatever is on the list (and possibly more) is on sale.

I've yet to see any new games at the BB's around work and home, though they may be somewhere not so obvious. I'll check around the one by work and home and see what I can find.

I think the best thing I might be able to find would be the XBL kit for $17.50, since I think one of the BB's around here had one of them.

I picked up Eye Toy Play w/camera for $10 and Eye Toy Groove for $5 yesterday. They also had used accessories at a penny. I got an Xbox DVD remote and a GBA gameshark.

Can anyone confirm trading in 2005/2k5 sports games with the $5 deal?
I got some I want to offload...not to mention...NCAA Football 2005 is 3.75 new there.

There's no GR's in St. Louis? We're practically next-door over here in Kansas City and swimming in Game Rush's.

Unfortunately, no.

Not within 50 miles of the ZIP of my work, or home.

One more thing I need to keep in mind if I go to KC in the future, visit GR.
