Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
NHL 06 Gretzky PSP gets 7 for trade in at blockbuster weak..I just hanged onto my copy in case I trade in 3 for extra at GS.
Wow, thanks. That is kind of weak. Not too bad at $12 (with bonus) if you can get it for $5 at Best Buy though. I assume your $7 quote was before the bonus. I was just expecting it to get a bit more.

Some values (before bonus):

GBA
Fairly Oddparents Shadow Showdown: $0.50
Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarding: $2

PSP
Death Jr: $12.50

PS2
Fairly Oddparents Shadow Showdown: $7
Nightmare Before Christmas: $19

GC
Jimmy Neutron Attack of the Twonkies: $2.50

Warning check the prices of clearance games when they ring up. I tried to buy a copy of WSOP today and it now rings up $19.99. I passed on it even though I just traded my copy. The employee said he notice some clearance games had new prices in the latest price updates today. Basically the new pricing wrote over the clearance prices. He couldn't remember the exact games but he said there were a few.

EDIT: World Series of Poker - PSP

I can confirm this.

Gretsky 06 for PS2 gets $12 before bonus, as well.

I can't believe it a buddy of mine was able to get the $5 bonus on some psp umd movies today. He traded in some games with them and the lady gave him the bonus. I didn't even think of trying to drop a few in a stack of games to see what would happen...

Went to Blockbuster today & again they still have no idea how to do the $5 extra per game...It took them 30 minutes w/3 staff helping each other out...

You would think for the 3 times they would have it nailed down now...

All for the PS2
Driver PL = 16
Nightmare Before Christmas =19
Flatout =24

Total of 59 + 15 = $74

Now THIS is a good one - $5 after coupon at Best Buy as well. You're sure that is before bonus (because you say "as well" when the PSP one was $7 and not $12 before bonus)? I didn't pick it up as I assumed the PSP version would fetch more. What the hell are they up to?

Hopefully the other Best Buy that I will be near tomorrow will have some PS2 copies. Time to print more coupons...

hi im new here so this will be my first post. thanks to reading this thread I drove over to my closest Grush and found.....

-Metal gear twin snakes
-Metroid prime 2
-Jusitce league ps2 controller
-Time splitters future perfect
and playoboy ps2 my store had alot of everything else minus metal gear

too bad i was hoping to find megaman collection ps2 or gc.

I was quoted $15 for Kameo.

Has anyone been to the Brighton, MI Gamerush? I just wonder how much they have left. The last time I was there they had bins of clearance games, and I might have to make a run up there if they still have some games.

Yep, $7 for PSP and $12 for PS2, both before bonus. I could actually see the screen at this Gamerush (never been to this particular one before). I was able to get one of each at Best Buy yesterday, and will be trading them in today. Do we know what the PSP version gets at EB? It isn't in the wiki, and I plan to hit both EB and GR today - unfortunately, GR will be first.

I visited four GRs and a regular BB - picked up about 25 clearance games to transfer to EB. The clearance has been going on long enough to let people pick up the stuff they wanted, so I don't feel all that guilty. The regular BB had hardly anything, just Men of Valor. The GRs were mostly cleaned out, except for one which didn't have any clearance games out in a bin/rack like most places. I got a good twenty of the twenty-five at that location by searching the racks, and I left stuff behind (store at the corner of Michigan and Conway). Oddly enough, they had quite a few Eye Toys and iSounds.

Even weirder, the Alafaya & Colonial location had preowned games marked at the new (clearance) prices. They were obviously preowned, too, so I don't know what that was all about.

^How much was that iSounds and what was it?
I remember seeing that thing and thinking it was speakers for the PSP because at my Gamerush they don't carry Ipod stuff so it can't be for that thing.

I only really glanced at it. I think it was in the neighborhood of $10-$12. They seem to be generic speakers, but look to be marketed towards PSP users. The box mentions working with MP3 players and DS systems, though.

They still have a couple bins full of games, but not a whole lot left of interest. I think I was last in there about a week ago.

So you could go and buy ALL of the games there, assfuck?
This is the reason why EVERYONE makes fun of you.
lol everyone "makes fun" of me...? This isnt 2nd grade kid. Everyone loves me because I go around trolling boards becuse these forums become so damn boring at times, and at least im real. Are you not the one who flip games from circuit city to gamerush like its ur job, but yet totally detest buying the FFXII CE just to flip on ebay? Who gives a shit if some 15 year old like you like me on some random ass forum. Get ur hypocritical head out of ur ass and be a man. Stop following what people say and do and be a leader u woman.

I've bought about 5 games from CC and all of the games that I bought had about 4 copies left there. Also, who said I detest people that do that? I'm pretty sure all I said was that I buy CEs for the stuff in them and to play them. I'm not being a 'follower' either, you're just a gigantic douchebag, I hate you on my own terms.

Just to double-confirm (;)), Gretsky for PS2 gets the $12 before bonus. I traded it in at lunch. Everything else I traded matches the wiki.

I had some extra time, so I turned $36.25 of GR credit into $53 in EB credit. Completely forgot to ask about the PSP version of Gretsky at EB, because the guy was trying a little too hard to get me to spend money instead of allowing me to combine promotions to form Voltron.

Triple confirm - I also traded a Gretzky for PS2 today for $12 before bonus. I just purchased it at Best Buy, took it across the street to BB - a nice triple+, which is all I'm looking for now. Did a couple of other triples too:

Gretzky NHL 06: $12 ($5 at Best Buy)
Genji: $9.50 ($5 at Best Buy)
Fairly Oddparents: $7 ($4 at CC)

After $5 bonus those are all triples (or very close).

Thanks a ton kojubat - I owe you one :D.
Without the Gretzky I wouldn't have had 3 games to trade (though I could have picked up a Total Overdose - problem is I traded one of those to this regular BB just last week and at regular BB's you really need to be careful with duplicates).

They didn't even have the PSP Gretzky at this Best Buy, so I'm glad I knew about the PS2 version before going in!

Because regular BBs get a fraction of the trades that GRs do, and if they care about you trading in multiple copies, they'll notice it a hell of a lot easier.
Because regular BBs get a fraction of the trades that GRs do, and if they care about you trading in multiple copies, they'll notice it a hell of a lot easier.
Exactly. Being that I am probably the only person trading there (or one of a few) if I start dumping multiple Gretzky 06 or Total Overdose, or anything, really, it could draw unwanted attention. I don't need the DM poking around in my trade history :D. I'm sticking to ONE of a game, period, at that store, whereas I might push 2-3 at GR (over the course of a few weeks).

Unfortunately, that probably means I can't trade any more there as I don't have 3 unique titles to bring in. I can pick up a Driver PL if that holds (waiting for confirmation tomorrow on that!). But then I'd need to scrounge up 2 more.

FWIW - the guy taking my trades today said I got a $5 bonus/game because they trade for $7 or more. Luckily for me the 3 games were at or above $7 - he was obviously misreading the details as others have reported. I just played dumb (like the bonus was an unexpected treat) and didn't have to get into it with him :D. In my mind, I made sure the values were good before he posted though.

Excellent news on the PS2 Gretzky 06. Unfortunately my local Best Buys are out of it and only have '05 which is $4.99 (free after coupon of course!). Wonder what the '05 version is worth in trade...qualify for bonus? I took in 2 Driver PL's and an Xbx Combat Elite and got out of GR with $63 in credit.
The next games up on my on deck circle to trade are Genji, Flow and Timesplitters Future Perfect. All for PS2. The Timesplitters game isn't in the Wiki at this point. The xbox version is and it's value is $2.50 so if anyone has this info could you share? I'll post my results later tonight.

Everything was pickedover at anothr GR I hit today. I wonder if/when they will put some more games on clearence. Kinda weird seeing Ridge Racer and Gripshift for PSP on clearence...yet they have older crappeir games still at full price.

Be careful with FS:FP, as it is one of the clearance games (for $5). I would expect it to get $1 now, though it probably will qualify for the bonus as the used price is probably still > $7.

Here's a few trade-in prices from today (before $5 bonus):

-Onimusha 3: Demon Siege (PS2) - $0.50
-Get On Da Mic (without mic, PS2) - $2.50 (I doubt if they'd take the mic but I didn't want to trade it in anyway. I paid less than $9 for this game at Circuit City with the USB PS2 microphone just so I could get a cheap second mic for Karaoke Revolution. After $5 bonus my mic only cost me $1.50...not bad.)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (PS2) - $7.00 (kinda surprised to get $12 total for this old ass game I paid $5 for used).
-Starsky & Hutch (GC) - $2.50 (Definitely grab this for trade fodder from Circuit City, gets $7.50 with bonus)
-Flow: Urban Dance Uprising (PS2) $6 ($5 with coupon from Best Buy for $6 profit)
-Genji (PS2) - $9.50 ($5 at best buy with coupon for a $9.50 profit)

Total: $61.48 after tax+bonus

These games didn't qualify for the $5 bonus so I didn't trade them in. I'll either take them to EB Games or try again with a different cashier at Game Rush.

-Virtua Fighter 4 (non-greatest hits, PS2) - $5.00 (Not a bad trade-in price but would be really sweet with the $5.00 bonus).
I forget what I was quoted on these two but it was less than the $4+ they'd fetch at EB Games so that's where they're going:
-Drake of the 99 Dragons (XB)
-Charlie's Angels (GC)

Well i asked the people @ blockbuster if you are allowed to trade in the same game...I asked what if i saw a bunch of Mario's for sale & wanted to trade them to get the extra $5 per game promo...They told me it doesn't matter as long as it's $7.99 & up worth per game...

Fairly Oddparents: $7 ($4 at CC)

Is this game for GBA or is it on a console too? My GR won't give the bonus on GBA games.

It's YMMV. Official policy is 2 copies of the same game per day...but they actually can deny any game they want for any reason. The most common reason they give for denying a game is that too many copies have already been traded in.

I can confirm that this game is now $19.99 for PSP. I was considering getting a copy at GR today and noticed they were restickered on the clearance table to $19.99. That makes perfect Blockbuster sense...they couldn't sell it for $7.50 or whatever it was at 75% off so they mark it UP instead of down.

Guys don't bust my chops, I read the last few pages and the first few and i could not find an expiration on the $5 extra trade in. We don't have a gamerush here in san diego but I'm going to North Hollywood to visit family in two weeks and I was hoping to hit the Gamerush there. The blockuster near me takes games, but no bonus, and I have $200.00 in credit and am going all out with a huge amount of my older game with the hopes of getting an xbox 360 and psp. Just want to know if anyone knows how that store is and when the deal expires. If anyone wants to roll there eyes on me not researching before I ask, your mom only wanted a backrub the day you were conceived and she regrets it ever since.

Here is my problem, how do you guys buy 3+ games at bestbuy and use 3+ coupons in one transaction? I got lucky just using one of these.

I don't press my luck using more than 1 coupon at a time...I just run in and use 1 coupon per visit...if my wife is with me I'll have her go through the checkout too...I also try to use different cashiers each time. My Best Buy is across the street from Blocbuster, so I just stop in every time I got to Blockbuster. I usually grab a couple penny guides while I'm in there...as grabbing multiples at once draws attention...and when you buy them without purchasing a game...sometimes the cashier calls a manager and you get declined.

Now some guys have cashiers that don't give a damn and take up 5 coupons and 100 penny guides at once and check out with no problem. That wouldn't fly at my local Best Buy.

romodome: No one knows when this deal ends. If we find out, it will be in the OP.

Oh, on an unrelated note I had kind of a funny experience at Gamerush tonight. The girl that took my games (typical clueless BB employee) actually cleaned and closely inspected a game I had opened 30 seconds before walking into the store. I had just bought it brand new from Best Buy and the game was MINT. I asked her if the game was dirty or something...and she said, "yah, sorta". She cleaned a couple more of the brand new games I traded in. Then when she got to the dirty, old used games I was trading in...she didn't even clean one of them. Those things had scratches and finger prints all over them. Weird girl.

She also wasn't smart enough to take in Gauntlet: Dark Legacy for GC because I didn't have the original case for it. I told her to just type it in but instead she asked the manager (50 year old fat chick that frowns and sighs at every customer) and she told her not to take the game because it was scratched (which it wasn't). I'll take it back when one of the cool guys that actually play games is working during the day. I swear, I've never had a problem with the young guys working at any of the 15 or so Gamerush stores I've traded games to...but if there's an older or even younger woman working...watch out. They tend to take their minimum wage jobs way too seriously.

Has anyone ever requested a full account history? I'm talkin about for all stores, not just a history at one store. I was kinda curious what kind of volume I've done, trading and buying, also for tracking purposes (spending-wise). Do you have to call district to do this? And would I have to worry about the DM taking an interest in this requested account history?

Traded 7/10 (all titles qualified for +$5 sale, values shown are pre-bonus)

Flatout (ps2) - $24
Combat Elite (Xbox) - $16
Dukes of Hazzard (Xbox) - $6 (price sold new at Circuit City).

Also, a few pages back, someone asked where they could find the Donky-Konga controller in Staten Island (SI?), New York: I saw it today at the Blockbuster\Gamerush at the intersection of Victory blvd. & Richmond ave for $11.25, sitting with most of the other clearance items. I can't even begin to describe the degrees of temptation I had to overcome to leave behind what seemed to be their only Donky-Konga controller...

Also, there were 2 Xbox Flatouts and an Xbox Combat Elite (and I think I might have seen a PS2 copy) at the Staten island Circuit City, sitting in the regular game section still with their original price tags. They also have a lot of copies of Without Warning for $9.96. Since I didn't see it mentioned in the Wiki, I'm rather curious what the trade-in value is...

I wouldn't even consider it unless my trading days were done. I am laying low at 1 of the stores I do alot of trading at, because of all the recent $5 trades. Plus I purchased tons of clearance stuff there to move credit and they seemed pissed about it. I think they had it stashed in the new games on purpose...

I havn't traded using my account in over two months. All my receipts list me as "Happy Customer"...I've always been told not to leave a paper trail...or was that to always leave a paper trail

I would be afraid to do this in fear of raising any red flags. I haven't done anything wrong per say, but I'm pretty sure I've traded in way too many copies of certain games over many gamerushes.

I remembered a time when I had to cancel a pre-order, and they couldn't find it, so they printed out a transaction record to find it, and it was kinda embarassing because it was so long, and since then the manager has kept an eye out on me. Mainly due to the fact that I used to cancel so many of my pre-orders to get 49.99 credit when I was suppose to get 29.99.

That's the PS2 version. I also traded the GBA version in and it was 50 cents before bonus - or at least I think so. I finally managed to get the bonus on GBA games (with the right clerk ;)) and I know I got them for the other 2 I traded. She didn't say it didn't qualify, so I can only assume the $5.50 I got was with bonus. I actually should have held off because I realized later I spent $5 on that game at Target - one of the worst trades I've ever done at GR actually :D. But then again it was sitting in my closet and the kids have endless supplies of better games to play.

Thanks for the info on the Timesplitter Future Perfect game io. Unfortunately my plans to go out tonight didn't materialize so I'll find out tomorrow. Same Bat time, Same Bat channel...
On the other hand, I bbq'd some carne asada tonight which was just great. Add sweet, sweet watermelon and tortillas and beans and salsa, well, it was enough to not make me think about games and deals for a few hours!!

I have used multiple coupons at multiple stores with many different cashiers and no problems whatsoever, even when I got a Duel Masters and Jampack and didn't pay a thing. She congratulated me on getting that deal. Recently, though, I've been using 2 at a time on $9.99 games - no problem there as you actually are paying for something.

As for your cleaning new games deal - I had the same thing happen today at a BB with the Gretzky I just bought 10 minutes before at Best Buy. The guy spent a minute blowing on it and rubbing it. Freak.

I keep track of it all in an Excel Spreadsheet - very handy. If you kept all your receipts (and I know you do since you are a PG user!) you could recreate it. I would NEVER EVER EVER request any kind of history. I once asked about a preorder and they printed my 3 month history (this was last Fall when I was dropping preorders left and right) and I got a 5 foot long printout . Luckily these 2 guys were cool with it (no manager in sight), and neither work there any more anyway. My 3 month history now would mostly show all the clearance game purchases I've done, as I haven't actually traded there that much.

But I keep track of it all in Excel - original cost, trade value, what I've spent, how much has gone to EB, etc... Once you set it up, it only take a minute or two to add a new transaction in. It has been very useful to keep track of how much I'm spending - after all, these trade-in fodder games cost real cash money, so to speak :D. Can't get too carried away!
