OTHER INFO

I consider deals confirmed when I receive the MAP on every other Thursday. The Map outlines promos and how the store is to be layed out and includes the barcodes for the deals. Also we get the new trade flyers that day as well with new trade values and deals.

Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

(GC) Mario Power Tennis - $25

(PS2) Dragonball Z: Budokai 3 - $20

Picked up Shining Tears (PS2) for $5.

Aren't I lucky! :D

I'd say -- I've been looking all over for Shining Tears! (then again, I can't complain too much: I've been able to pick up Disgaea, Stella Deus, Growlancer Generations, & Granda Xtreme)
Are there any Gamerushes in Washington State or in the Portland, OR area?
No! Go away - it's ours!! (h2dk and me that is.)

Oh, OK, I'll cough it up - there is one in Wilsonville, OR. I think that is it for the entire NW. Fortunately I live 15 minutes from it :D. Be careful there, though, as they are starting to modify the deals - for example on the trade 3 for a $5 game you must trade in $30 worth of games to qualify. They used to double-dip as well - but no more. It's only a matter of time before they yank or modify-to-death the trade 2 for $29.99 preorder deal.
Xbox version = 11
PS2 version = 7
Exactly (Re: Powerdrome). I went through some old receipts from different BB's, and it has *always* been this way (since the start of the trade 3 get an extra $5 in March anyway). We've been expecting a drop, but nothing yet (except for not getting the extra $5 any more!). This title is old enough that it's trade-in price is fairly stable I guess (it's not like a recent release that has had a universal retail price drop - like, say, Constantine).

Edit (as to not create yet *another* post): Great news for you Xbox people from Cory. WHY did the Xbox have to be the first next gen?? (I could care less for it). You guys are gonna get all your Xbox 360 preorders done for $30 (with the deal), and THEN they'll fix the system and start charging $60 for the PS3 and Revo launch titles and probably exclude them from the preorder deal...

Repost from end of the last thread:
So now that all the GR stores are networked together does that mean they can see the inventory the other stores have now too? I wouldn't mind the hour ride to one of the farther GR stores from here if I knew there was a good chance they had Disgaea or any number of PSX games I want.
you mean refund you credit? or give you another disc?
hehe, of coz they can only give you another copy of the game! There's no way blockbuster will give you money when you give them a box!! Also can someone please answer this: Does blockbusters give different trade in values at different locations? because this happened to me??!!

I hope not. I might pre-order a 360 game and if that does happen, just switch it to a PS3 game I want. I am only looking forward to MGS4 right now.

Ahhh... I always forget the "preorder and switch" tactic. If/when I run out of current gen things to preorder maybe I will do that as well. What is expected to be the big hit Xbox 360 launch title? I'll just do that and if, for some reason, I can't switch it out, maybe I can trade it for something else here or with a friend. (There's also the very slight possibility I might actually get an Xbox 360 - no, MUST resist).

I heard from a manager about two weeks ago that they upgraded their network.
any news on WHAT 360 games yet? Or better yet, the system?
The system should be in by late june - early july once blockbuster has a better idea of their allotment numbers.

As for the games I'll try and make a list today.

I just got back from visiting 2 of my area GRs. Neither were honoring the trade in 3 get one for 5. The second store said that the regional manager told them to stop the promotion due to abuse. This is the first trip I had made during the current deal. So, I missed out on this deal entirley. The thing that bugs me is that, while I am talking to the guy, the instore radio is advertising the deal.

Thanks Cory...much appreciated. I guess I'll wait until after my honeymoon to check on the system. I may pre-order a game or two when a list is available.
My manager informed me that the 3 for 5 is officially over..Nationwide, they are sending out warnings..I had to ban 4 flippers/scammers today Cory. I feel your plan bro..

Damn, this sucks because I had some old PS2 games I've had for a while. I was going to get rid of them to try to get Sudikoden 4 all well. I guess I will have to try to get it through the trade 2 for $29.99 deal.

Wow, that sucks if the trade3 is over....I was pretty honest in trading, never multiple copies, and even some of my good games (UnrealC2, MC3) Oh well....looks like I'll trade 2 and pre-order then for $30. I wanted the 360 games anyways....

We'll see what my store says.
Yesterday I traded in at the farmington hills GAMERUSH:

Pariah for 26
extermination for 1
mechassault i think 8

I wanted to get forza but they didnt have it used so i got gt4 (that was the ONLY game they had that trades above 30, they are getting cleaned out)

took gt4 to novi gamerush along with dark cloud and traded them in to get forza for 30.

Forza is really good by the way, it just takes some getting used to.
haha

the farmington one never has anything
I asked about the 360 games, they had 11 on the list. and call of duty was at 59.99
I wonder if they'll let me pre-order it with the trade 2 deal....I hope so, especially if the trade 3 deal is going to die soon
Never flipped a game with this deal, sad to see it go.
Same here.

Thanks to the flippers for ruining it for all of us.

Cory - Is the new Nintendo 50% off sale going to be in some sort of ad that they will hand out at the store? Just in case the GR here dosen't have one of the games and I can PM at the local Circuit City...

I knew this was going to happen eventually. I can't believe they actually started this $5 trade-in deal. That really sucks because I hadn't had time to pick up some games I wanted. I was trying to find some recent games but they seem to be scarce. Hopefully the pre-order a gamef ro $30 stays until september. I could get some next-gen shopping done.

double down, since you're going on a honeymoon I assume you're getting married. I just wanted to say congratulations!

Thanks....next Friday is the big day. I may get some trades in before then, just in case my stores have not stopped the trade 3. I would like some PSP games (if I get one this week that is)

I did the trade in 3 for $5 at the Plymouth, MI (around 3pm Saturday) store today and picked up Mercanaries for Xbox.

Traded in:
Super Monkey Ball (GC) -$7
Guilty Gear X2 (Xbox) -$7
Paper Mario 2 (GC) -$25

I was going to head up to the Brighton GR tomorrow to pick up a game they have there, so I am hoping this deal lasts a little longer.
I wonder if they'll let me pre-order it with the trade 2 deal....I hope so, especially if the trade 3 deal is going to die soon
My GR let me preorder Quake 4. The games I really wanted to preorder (Gears of War, Oblivion, Perfect Dark, GR 3, Top Spin and Project Gotham 3) were not on the list. Call of Duty 2 was, I'm planning on going tomorrow to preorder that. They were listed for $59.99, but the manager let me preorder anyways.

Don't remember the full list, but I know that Madden, NBA Live, Full Auto, Streets of LA were there.

Hey Guys, i just preordered like 9 games for 360. There were about 11 on there. Ill post the 9 games i got plus their part number.

Call of Duty 2 ===== 131042
Condemed ===== 131047
Full Auto ===== 131048
Madden NFL 2006 ===== 131045
Quake 4 ===== 131043
True Crime 2 ===== 131051
Dead Or Alive 4 ===== 131050
NBA Live 2006 ===== 131046
King Kong ===== 131049

One of the others i saw was The Godfather. I didnt want that. There was also something else but it escapes me now. Hope this helps in making it easy for you guys wanting a 360 to preorder games. I think theyll like having the part number already written up. Also Call Of Duty 2 and Quake 4 were listed as $59.99. I had enough preoders to switch some of my xbox preorders over to 360 games. I just had to pay the difference of the 2 games. And i also bought Halo for $9.99

Excellent USA Ghost! Thanks alot for the info.
I just got back from GR with a SW Ep.3 for xbox. The trade 3/get po for 5 is still good here in Highland Ca. Traded in NBA Street Vol.3 (30) Powerdrome (11) and, shoot, my mind went blank! I can't remember the last one. Sorry guys.

Can anyone confirm if they will let you Pre-order these for Xbox 360:

Saint's Row
Gears of War
Project Gotham Racing 3

i dont konw what happened to your GR out there, but in here texas i just visited GR and BB none of them are taking the offer off and when i asked them they said it will last till september 5th... i guess different state has different policies?!
Hey Guys, i just preordered like 9 games for 360. There were about 11 on there. Ill post the 9 games i got plus their part number.

Call of Duty 2 ===== 131042
Condemed ===== 131047
Full Auto ===== 131048
Madden NFL 2006 ===== 131045
Quake 4 ===== 131043
True Crime 2 ===== 131051
Dead Or Alive 4 ===== 131050
NBA Live 2006 ===== 131046
King Kong ===== 131049

And i also bought Halo for $9.99
Thanks for the list...I'll have to switch my MAdden pre-order to the 360 and possibly get Call Duty 2. The others games don't interest me that much anyways....possibly Quake 4 (I'll wait for both NBA games also)

Gears of War isn't in there. I was busy today and didn't get around to the list but many are there (thanks usa)
Same here.

Thanks to the flippers for ruining it for all of us.

Cory - Is the new Nintendo 50% off sale going to be in some sort of ad that they will hand out at the store? Just in case the GR here dosen't have one of the games and I can PM at the local Circuit City...
No its in the Game Rush map. You might could pursuade an employee to let you make a copy or have him do it. Just be nice and maybe buy something.

Called two stores today - both said the $5 PO deal is good through September (the Bloomfield Hills store will even let you do the deal twice per day). Anyways, I snagged not one but TWO brand new copies of Fatal Frame II for PS2 for $9.99 each. There was also a used, disc-only copy for $14.99, but I passed on it.

Thanks... I'm only going to have them do it if Pokemon is OOS, which I hope it's not.
is ghost recon 3, perfect dark 0, or kameo in the system?
Nope,only the ones i listed earlier minus one. They seem to only have 11 in their system as of now. Im sure the games you listed will be in the system in the coming weeks though.
