Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

This is what they told me at my GR Saturday night as well - they looked all through the MAP and nothing about a new deal but it seems the preorder deal has been extended.

I preordered Black & White Creatures for PSP just in case the deal is ended entirely. I might switch that to something else later. None of the things I check for every week have been added yet (Suikoden V PS2 or I/II for PSP, PSP or DS Final Fantasy, Tales of Eternia, etc...).

Now I have both the PSP and DS versions of B&W Creatures preordered and I really, honestly, have very little idea what this game is about - I've never played the PC version. I just can't trade games in at GR WITHOUT preordering...

You have the same problem as me ;) I'm at a lost of what to pre-order. I basically stopped pre-ordering PSP games since I barely play it lately. I've basically just been ordering games to hopefully cancel/switch to 360 games. I'm trying to find games with a later release date.

If the deal is NEW releases, can we still use it on pre-orders also? When is this "NEW" deal supposed to start? I'm debating if I should trade in a few more games.
 
It's supposedly going to start on either Monday or Tuesday. I really wanna use this deal to get SWB 2 and maybe The Warriors or SotC. After reading reviews of THAW, I really don't see myself purchasing this game until it drops to $25 after GGC at BB. The online sounds fun, but the story mode is really short and they said it was ridiculously easy. In the GS review they talk about the "ruthless" people online, which I am included in. I get 25-35 million point combos so it doesn't sound really interesting to me. Oh well. :D
 
Why are you trading in BF2:MC already? It came out (for us) on Friday... two days of playing it, and you're done? It's an awesome game online!
 
Maybe if they got rid of the LAG online. Battlefield is not THAT great IMO. It's ok....I'll still keep it for a while, but I'm going to trade mine in eventually too. I may wait until the 360 though.

Iridion 2 for GBA is still getting $10. There is still a copy left at the TRU in Ocoee for $7.50 if anyone needs 2-fer filler.

They redesigned the shelving in all of the stores I've visited in the last week in Orlando. It makes it a little harder to scour the preowned for the more uncommon games. It used to be lower shelves, rentals on the walls, new games in center racks separate from the preowned in other center racks. Now everything is grouped by console, then split by rental/new/preowned, in higher shelves.

There is in-store signage advertising a free game with every GameCube or GBA SP purchase. I did not get the details, but they were displaying non-bundle versions of the Cube with a Metroid and/or Zelda game in each store I visited this weekend. I have no idea when the promotion ends, nor the scope.
 
Anyones store get Spartan: Total Warrior for the GC?

I called mine and they had the PS2 and XB, no GC. They said I could swith if I wanted. However, if the new deal starts tuesday and my cousin gets Spartan likes hes been saying, MAYBE theyll just let me get Battalion Wars.

Whats everyone thinking of Spartan so far anyway? Pretty bad reviews...
 
Spartan got decent reviews in EGM last month (7.5, 9.0, 8.0). If not for me refraining from buying another game 'til the 360 launch, I'd get it.

It was getting better but they did an update yesterday evening and it made it worse. Everyone was crying and getting randomly dropped/losing all their rankings. EA pisses me off, I love their games but their servers suck and they demand all their games be played on their servers..............

once i get battlefront2, i think battlefield2 will become redundant

i bought battlefield 2 because i thought the demo showed real potential, turns out the game is the same as the demo, it's fine but glitchy and i think battlefront 2 is basically the same game without the problems
 
I hope they do it with new games because I have a stack of games I finished playing sitting waiting for me to pick up some used goodness that I have been wanting to play. I don't really go to Gamerush often so it would be nice to get some games that I wouldn't have to wait to come out to go back and get.

Thanks, I'll pick it up tomorrow. I was assuming they would have it Tuesday to match the release of the DVD. Hopefully I can switch some of my other games over too :)
 
Any idea what day they'll have From Russia With Love available for pickup? Hopefully I can get that and Battlefront II in one trip, but I have a feeling FRWL will be one of their Friday games...
 
I hope this deal starts tomorrow so I can go get SWB 2 with Animal Crossing (GC) and some other game that I haven't played in a long time. Probably RB6: Lockdown for PS2 as I see that dropping to $20 soon, and I got it for $25 at BB. Does it still trade in at $30? Or $27? Man... I'm going to have Battlefield 2: Modern Combat AND Star Wars Battlefront 2... I'm going to be sick of games like that. :D I'm also thinking of getting THAW with this deal....

I tried to trade in D2R2 today at a BB that ive never been to, and they said that they cant take that particular game anymore. Said they had a list of about 20 games.

Not sure if its YMMV, but thought it was interesting. Ill try again at another BB tomorrow.

Uh-oh, is this the first sign of an Exclusion List at Gamerush? I'd be interested to know what else is on there, Nightmare of Druaga and Galleon perhaps?

Eh... one of two things: 1) the manager realized they had 40 copies of D2R2 and maybe a few other games and gave the employees a list of games to deny (they have always had the right to deny any trade for whatever reason) or 2) similar phenomenon on a district- or company-wide basis. I wouldn't so much call it an exclusion list, since the only reason it was traded so much is because they were giving so much money for it. Inherently different from what we would usually consider exclusion lists.
 
Heu guys. Stopped by my GR to see if Blitz came in. Much to my surprise, they gave me my copy of Star Wars Battlefront II!!!! Weird, eh? (But STILL no Blitz!)

Wow i'm surprised you got it already! The store where I preordered it was supposed to be having a midnight launch for the game and I think the movie is out tomorrow as well. I'll just go grab the game in the morning, I am "renting" it for free anyway since I traded in $55 worth of games and just grabbed it for $30 since nothing else is coming out I want, i'll play it for a couple weeks and get at least my $30 back. I'm not dealing with star wars geeks at a midnight launch!! Well on 2nd thought........ I'll call the store in a few minutes and ask if anyone dressed up as star wars characters and then maybe i'll go laugh at them.:lol:

I was told the trade 2 preorder deal is dead.

Interestingly I started a conversation with the girl when I asked if they had gotten SWBF2 in early. She told me it wasn't it yet and was going to be a little late due to the problems they have been having with their DCs. Apparently they have two DCs, one in LA and one in TX, and have been having problems getting games in ever since Katrina. No word on when the problems will be resolved.

I see you are in Oregon - could you tell us WHERE in OR this BB was? This is of great interest to me :D.
 
so is the trade 2 in preorder 1 deal still going or not? I bought one of those walmart racing packs for 10 bucks but if the preorder deal is gone I'm just going to return it.
 
Nope, ended yesterday apparently. The coupon was invalid at my store, the girl has give me a manual discount. Can anyone confirm the new deal?

I was there last night thinking it was the last day, but I can confirm that the preorder deal has been extended until Nov 21.

Also, my Gamerush received SWBF2, so I'll have to go back tonight to pick it up. Too many games, not enough time...
