GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items.This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Jotamide, you have to be a GFC Premium member to use the PF Services. You can sign up in our store :) Directions are online. It cost either $10 a month or $100 a year, but you get Package Forwarding and $1.00 service charges per item (instead of the usual $2.00). If you need additional info let me know. Went ahead and got the premium membership for 1 month cause there's already a PS3 game coming your way haha.

Capsuledragon, I went ahead and ordered those for you though you did make one mistake as far as I can see. Please include shipping cost to the USA along with the item, so if ordering on Amazon for example from a third party seller, add in the shipping to me and the item price on the form next time :) Thanks. Oh crap sorry about that. Hopefully there's enough from my other orders shipping buffer to cover that, otherwise I can throw in a few more dollars.

 
Jotamide, the way it works with the shipping buffer is this: Once your item ships out to you, we'll calculate your leftover credits (if we have to use your shipping buffer in full and need additional funds, we'll contact you before shipping). These credits will be deposited into your account and can be used towards your next purchase as a 1:1 credit. As long as you have enough credit in your account, there will be no shipping buffer required. This is a new feature launching in July though so it's not live yet. Also, if you have existing credits from past shipping buffer, you can request a Paypal refund and you'll receive the money in approximately 7 business days. More on this soon as it's part of next month's update :) Thanks.

Hey Goomba, I'm trying to buy a 1 year premium membership t am having problems. I log into GFC but the GFC store is asking me to log in again. However it says my email address is not recognized. I tried registering for the GFC store but it said it is in tota shut down mode and will not resume operations until 6/8/2010.
 
Hi there J-P, sorry to hear you're having difficulties! The GFC store is migrating to the main site now (so that you will no longer need dual accounts) and so there are some interesting errors at the moment (I hope to have the updates finished by the end of first week of July 2013). I'm going to go ahead and fix that and I'll let you know when it's fixed. Sorry for the wait, it should be fixed shortly ^_^.

 
Well Goomba I have a problem here. On the packaging forwarding page here: http://gamesforcanada.com/direct-request.php It always has my default address filled in. When I put in my recent orders I always changed the shipping information to make it correct, but when I go onto the next page only the postal code changes, but the rest of the outdated information stays the same. I just tested again just now and it definitely is like that.

I just got a shipping confirmation e-mail saying my N64 package has shipped to my old address. Please tell me the e-mail is a mistake and it went to my current address? You've shipped to my current address before with the starsoldier/hyperbike games as well as I left a note in Paypal about my current address. Please  tell me it went to my current address.

Also, did my 5 N64 manuals from Bresoftware ship with them?

I ended up using the "beaver sign up" link to register an account with the store and I bought a one year premium membership. Do I need to do anything special to sync it up with my CFG account or do I need to put a note in when I place an order?

How do I change the shipping address? I put in a direct request order and changed the shipping address there but it's still showing up at previous address (the business is no longer there).

J-P, thanks =) You are all good to go now! Once you log into our main GFC site http://www.gamesforcanada.com you should see the "Package Forwarding" link on the left bar of icons now. That'll allow you to use the PF system as well as receive the discount on orders' service charges as well. Starting next month you'll also see the Rewards section as well as up-to-date stats on your credits with us. Thanks again for everything. ** GFC Rewards Update **

I'm about 95% done now with the new Rewards program site and I'm really excited that I'll be able to share it soon. Starting the first week of July I'll have the program launching in BETA. There will be rewards of all different levels and our goal is to add items in every week (sometimes every day) as we have tons of things to offer. If you have existing Canuck Bucks, you'll be able to use them right away and some items are available for free as well. The only requirement will be that you have an existing DR/PF order with us before we can ship them to you, to save on shipping costs. More on this soon. In the meantime we're going to finish coding it this week and start adding items to the rewards catalog as they have to be entered one by one =). Cya guys soon!

 
My first test of my new Canuck Bucks purchasing system is complete and I'll be rolling updates at the end of next week =). Essentially, it'll give you the option to prepay your Canuck Bucks which can be used for all of our services on our site (including the beefed up new Rewards Store) and it'll simplify the checkout process for DR/PF a lot as well. I'll submit a BETA link for you guys here in this forum next week for you to test it out yourself ^_^.

 
** Canuck Bucks Purchase Update **

I just wanted to let you all know the good news =) A piece of coding that I've been working on for nearly four years (no joke) was finally completed today! This is by far the biggest update to the site since we launched over 5 years ago, and the first step in truly automating our invoicing as well as our new rewards program. I'll be outlining all of the new updates in great detail on the site as well as here next week, but I thought I'd let you know that all is well.

The basic premise of this update is that we'll be working towards a single currency on the site. For those of you who have been around long enough, you may remember a thing we had called "Canuck Bucks" (CB's) that we used for package forwarding services. Well CB's will, starting in early July, become the sole currency of our site that will be used for all of our services. You will be able to buy them ahead of time in a pre-determined amount as well as be able to top-off your account when necessary for orders. Having this freedom to spend them how you like on the site will simplify everything so that you no longer have to calculate Service Charge Credits (SCC's), Reward Dollars, etc. Everything will be CB's....period. If you have existing SCC's with us, we'll be converting them over to the new system which will take a little bit of time, but in the meantime SCC's will work exactly as they have all along.

More on this exciting update next week =) Looking forward to updating things and getting you all up to speed ASAP ^_^. This will really innovate a lot for our site and will help us to create some really fun new additions as well.

 

 
** Change of Address Option on GFC **

After I launch the GFC Rewards page (later this week) and finish the Canuck Bucks purchasing system, the next update will be a change of address page/option that has been a long-time coming. Before you place an order, it will show your address and give you the option to change it in our system. This is really important and I've heard your requests =) Coming very soon! Thanks guys.

 
Goomba, I have a small request if you don't mind. Around a week ago I placed a PFWD order for Heavenly Sword that apparently hasn't arrived yet, and now I am looking to try to win an ebay auction for a 3DS game. Would you mind holding on to Heavenly Sword for a little bit longer? Cause in the case I win the autction I would like to send both items at the same time if you catch my drift.

 
Jotamide, no problem. As per our opening rules in this thread, we offer 30 days of free hold time on all PF orders (and DR orders as well), so no worry there. We are doing our next PF pickup on Friday, so it should be there by then I'd imagine, but we can hold onto it until you're ready for us to ship your items together. Thanks! ** Changes to the Site **

1) As mentioned many times in the last few weeks, our GFC Rewards store is nearly done. I'm just putting some final touches on it to make it more presentable (nobody wants to see walls of text with no graphics), but I promise within the next week I'll have something to show you guys :).

2) I will be closing the traditional GFC Store for the time being, while migrating to our new system. What this means is that if you want to join GFC Premium, you'll have to do so by contacting me at JJParks AT improcomics DOT org in the meantime. We'll have a fully automated signup page on the site shortly.

3) We will no longer be selling iTunes card codes on our site, due to a LARGE number of fraud cases (unfortunately). It was fun while it lasted and I really did appreciate your support for those who regularly bought from us. That being said, scam artists are far too common these days and I want to keep GFC as far out of grey areas as I can. If you were a regular customer of ours that wants to buy them, I'd be happy to help you.

I was just wondering if you can ship Protein powder to Canada. One of the reasons I couldn't ship to Canada from the main website was because it was considered a "food" item. Would that cause issues with you shipping it to me?

 
Pat_McCrotch, I've shipped it in the past. I don't think it's an issue to be honest. I can ship certain food items anyhow, just non-perishable things though and not meat/milk/dairy/plant related things. I've shipped quite a bit of health products in the past though with no issues to date. Thanks :).

** GFC Rewards BETA Starts....NOW! **



I'm happy to say that for the first time in 4.5 years, we have officially launched (in BETA) our GFC Rewards store! Granted the first initial 8 rewards are a bit random, and a couple are recycled from our eBay store but we are planning on adding new items every day and will have TONS of things to give away (many of which will be very cheap or even free). Here's the link:

The way it works is this: When you place orders with us on GFC, we will issue you "Canuck Bucks (CB's)" as rewards. The amount you get will very based on your membership and/or monthly promotions that we offer, but every order will at least reward you something in terms of CB's. You can use these CB's to get any of the rewards in our store, and if you're a little short, you can buy additional CB's to make up the difference.

We plan to have some really special items in there, and while some may appear to be a bit expensive at first, keep in mind that if you're patient enough you can earn all of the items free from just doing your normal ordering :). This program is in BETA though, so if you see anything wonky or out of the ordinary, please let us know. We'll be adding in sort options, a full list view and other things soon enough, but for now we just wanted the core pages to work properly. Here is how it goes:

1) Rewards page - shows the rewards themselves, the name of the reward and the price in CB's. Click the reward you want for more details.

2) Rewards Detail page - shows even more detail and a description of the item. If you click the thumbnail you can get a full view of the reward and two options: Buy Now (if you already have enough CB's in your account) or Make Offer. With Make Offer you can set your own price in CB's and if we accept we'll deduct the CB's and hold it on the side for you. All rewards will ship free with your next DR/PF order with us.

3) Buy CB's link: All of the rewards pages also have a link in which you can buy additional Canuck Bucks if you're a little short for your goal. Keep in mind this is optional though.

More details soon, but I'd love if you'd check it out so far. We have spent literally the last three weeks coding almost all of this from scratch and we're proud with how it's coming along so far. Lots of updates around the corner and new rewards added daily ^_^.

We are looking into a system for waving the shipping buffer, but it's not something we can launch yet as it involves a new rating system for buyers. I'd be happy to refund you but right at the moment my Paypal account funds are frozen as Paypal is investigating about $1000 of purchases that are being disputed due to a scammer buyer. They expect that I should have the funds returned to me ASAP. If you'd like to purchase something else, I can do so as I have a credit card for purchases, but it's separate from my Paypal acct. Goomba, I wanna take advantage of this offer from Newegg to get Shin Megami Tensei IV cheaper. It's kind of a hassle cause it requires the buyer to use a cellphone and have a Google Wallet account. Is it ok to put a bunch of instructions on the Direct Request form on your website?

I saw that you posted on Neogaf that I was out of touch, and I assure you that I'm very much up-to-date but just haven't had time the last few days to check the thread due to the Paypal issues.

** IMPORTANT GFC UPDATE **

Hey guys, I just wanted to re-iterate what I've said privately and partially. Over the last week, our GFC Paypal account has been hit with several (around 12 to date and counting) fraudulent chargeback claims. Essentially, a customer (I believe it to be a single individual) ordered a bunch ($1000+) worth of iTunes Gift Cards over the month of June using various accounts, names, Emails and addresses. I sent them as I always do and was happy to do so. Then out of the nowhere, I get MULTIPLE Emails from Paypal saying that the buyer contacted their credit card company to charge back the full amounts of the cards. Paypal debited the money out of my account, leaving me with a negative $600 balance with several other chargebacks on the way (seeing as there are orders from this user that haven't cleared yet). This dried up all of my day-to-day funds that I use to run the site and created literally about 10 hours of Emailing and paperwork.

To date I've recovered some of the money (very little) but it now looks that Paypal will not side with me, even though I physically mailed the cards out as well. What this means is that it'll take me a couple of weeks to recoup these funds from eBay sales, money from work, etc. but all of your funds are still accounted for. If there's anything you have credit with me and that you need to use to order, please contact me and I'll do my best to order it right away. Again, I have other credit cards and ordering methods that are available to me so I won't be penalizing you in any way for my loss, it's just an unfortunate setback.

All existing GFC orders are still being processed as normal, and any new ones will be processed just as efficiently as always. The only reason I was slow to answer Emails this week is that I had to work extra hours at my day job, and the rest of my free time was spent in Paypal Email back-and-forths. I apologize if I missed any of your Emails or was slow to respond, it wasn't intentional.

If there's anything I can do, please let me know. The sooner this is all behind me the happier I'll be =). Thanks again for your generous support over the years, I really do appreciate your business.

i want to try out the service but im pretty new to it i just have some question im hoping someone can answer for me. do i need to sign up and pay for a membership? and also how do i submit a request? what kind of payment do you accept and how long after i submit the request (if thats how i do it) do you place an item on order?

 
Hey guys, just stopping in to answer some of your questions/comments. As always, the fastest way to reach me is to Email me directly (for some reason CAG no longer notifies me when there's a response in this thread) at JJParks AT improcomics DOT org. Here we go:

1) kuro67, we always do our best =) We'll keep your order as up to date as possible with our GYROS page (sometimes takes a few days to have it listed there, but we'll get it there eventually). Keep in mind GYROS is just mostly for estimates so from time to time things like shipping dates and such can change.

2) SinisterPanda, you don't need to sign up for membership. We offer two tiers: Free and Premium. Free members can order with our "Direct Request (DR)" Service where you tell us what to order for you, and we do the ordering/shipping to you. Premium members have the option of ordering the items themselves with our "Package Forwarding (PF)" Services. Either way the items will come to us in one way or another and we have them shipped out to your address from our offices. We accept only Paypal payments on our website and occasionally other forms of payment like Amazon Gift cards for smaller items (or orders on Amazon.com). We typically order items from DR orders in 12 hours or less after receiving them, so for items that need to be ordered immediately we recommend using our PF system.

4) Pat_McCrotch, yeah we're going to be revising our GYROS system eventually so that it's not using Google Docs, though I really do like that system as it is. Ultimately I want to have it tied to our database, so it can be updated in real time, but for now I have more important updates to work on :).

5) Jotamide, that's great news! Glad it made it there safely. I'm doing my best with your newest order, but the NewEgg thing is giving me major difficulties. I'm going to try and contact NewEgg Customer support :). I'll keep you posted.

6) kuro67, "May Need Shipping $" means that the money you sent initially for your order may not be enough to cover the shipping to you from our office. This is an all-encompassing status though, so it can result from customers forgetting to include shipping from the original company, underestimating shipping weight, etc. Once we receive your items we'll Email you in detail to explain the situation :). ** Google Chromecasts **

Just a quick update for those of you who are ordering, ordered or plan to order Google Chromecast devices. Amazon and Best Buy are currently backordered and Amazon is limiting purchases to 3 per customer (which we've already filled all our spots). If you plan on ordering one, I suggest either waiting until they're in stock everywhere or order yourself when you can and use our PF services.
