GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Hi RchrdJ, and welcome to the GFC party!

Well, we've come a long way over the 20 months we've been in business now, but we aren't even scratching the surface of things yet to come :)

I'm not exactly sure what you mean to be honest. I take care of orders in the order I receive them, so if an item is limited to say 5 copies, then the first 5 people to order it will be the ones who get it. Most items aren't limited in this way, or if they are you can always order yourself (if you have a credit card or debit card that works with sites like Amazon.com). We have a UPS Mail box that you can order items and ship to here in the US. I will pick them up and forward them to Canada :) So either way works.

There will be tutorials and videos on this sort of thing soon, but the new Direct Request (DR) 2.0 system doesn't officially launch until January 2010. I will be doing some Beta previews for you guys though.

Just keep an eye on the site. It's going to get a heck of a lot better very soon. Best of luck with your repair shop as well :) Maybe we can help you get some of your equipment you'll need!

Heimdal, great news! I just got an Email from Logitech and the order just shipped via UPS today. It should be here by Tuesday :) I know you thought it'd be cancelled (and I was starting to think so too) but looks like we're back in business. I guess they, too, were overwhelmed with floods of orders ^_^

So you can rest easy my friend. Still not in time for Christmas I know, but lots of aural goodness coming your way nonetheless!

That's great news, indeed! Thanks, can't wait!

Going to go pack the mega package and them I'm off to sleep. Will be catching up a lot this weekend hopefully ^_^ Wish me luck. I can't wait for my life to return to normal again lol. Cya guys soon!

Yo Goomb, how much would a 15 lbs order (according to amazon) cost to ship up?

Also, on the FAQ page, since I know you get asked shipping costs alot... You care to put up the suggested prices for each weight? I know you roughly know the prices for various weights. It'd help me figure out what it'd be without asking you everytime :p

For future reference, the shipping estimates are in the first post in this thread ^_^ I'll be posting them more prominently on the GFC page very soon. Rates are going up in January though slightly.

Shipping to Canada (GFC):

=Please note these weights are subject to change. Some items may require slightly more for packing materials/handling charges. This will give you a fairly accurate price though for shipping charges! =

** All the following weights up to 4 pounds are shipped with USPS First Class Mail:

$03.00 USD = 5 ounces – 6 ounces (typical video game DVD rate)
$03.50 USD = 7 ounces
$04.50 USD = 8 ounces – 12 ounces
$05.50 USD = 12 ounces – 15 ounces
$06.50 USD = 1 Pound
$11.00 USD = 2 Pounds
$14.00 USD = 3 Pounds
$18.00 USD = 4 Pounds

** All the following weights are more than 4 pounds and therefore are shipped with USPS Priority Mail instead **

$27.00 USD = 5 Pounds
$29.00 USD = 6 Pounds
$31.00 USD = 7 Pounds
$33.00 USD = 8 Pounds
$35.00 USD = 9 Pounds
$37.00 USD = 10 Pounds

For all weights over 10 pounds, add $2.00 USD per pound (rough estimate that follows USPS guidelines)

Those shipping rates are just estimates by the way guys. Some packages may require special handling, special boxes or extra care but it should give you a rough estimate anyhow :) Off to the University job now. Tonight will be another busy packing day ^_^

You're quite welcome jaszypoo. I hope to get a lot more of these happy messages in the next week or two. The super-mega order is going out tomorrow and then the backlog will officially be nearing an end. I know you guys are sitting on the edge of your seat for us to catch up, and we're getting there quicker and quicker. I will do another mini GYROS daily to keep you in touch. Also continuing to work on the automated pre-pay options with DR 2.0!

Thanks for the reply Goomba, you did answer my question even though I had trouble wording it  In the situation I asked about, the best solution would be to use the UPS mailbox.

Yes, the UPS mailbox is the best solution for time-sensitive items. It will be better implemented into the actual GFC website in January. Speaking of which, I'm happy to say I FINALLY got the PHP Session system working in alpha form :) This is the key to my ultimate new system I'm working on and today is the first time I got it to work exactly the way I wanted it to. Meaning we are only around 3 weeks away from the public beta...woo hoo!

Back home and packing. Unfortunately, I no longer have free heat in my home and the electric heaters we have now SUCK =P nothing like working in the cold and having to pay a couple hundred dollars a month to heat your house.

Any of you guys know of a type of external thermostat or timer for electric heaters? I'd like to keep my house warm during the time we're home and/or have it turn off at a certain temperature or after a certain time, but don't know much about this. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Hey Goomba, are there any deals for 12 month Xbox Live cards right now? I see the one on Amazon for 39.96 but was wondering if you have seen them cheaper anywhere else.

killmak, short answer: no. Amazon is cheapest. If you buy the pack with chat pad/headset/game it's cheaper for the actual card. If you need the extra things it's a great deal, otherwise you could always sell them I suppose and make the money back for a cheaper card. Otherwise, no =P
Dunno what the official name is for them. In Canadian Tire they call them "Electrical Timers". You stick them in a normal power outlet and set a time to turn on or cut the power from the power outlet. Get the digital ones so you don't have to rotate that silly winder every time you use it. I'm assuming your heater's power is supplied by a wall outlet.

Yes that sounds exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to go and check it out. Oh and for the record: electric heat sucks. I want my oil heat back :(

Pat_McCrotch, I have all your items except the Never Winter Nights. I'm not sure what became of that one. I ordered it and I haven't seen it come in yet. I may have to contact Amazon about that one. The Blu-Rays are all here though.

And no, no more cheap Xbox cards unfortunately. Only have the ones for $42 USD.

Alright, well I may just end up sending the Blu's seperately and sending NWN when it shows up. For now I'll wait another week or so. God knows I still have plenty to ship, but I'm catching up ^_^ Day by day!

Man those are steep shipping prices. I remember when I bought an Audio Receiver, I had it shipped to a friends house in the states than shipped here to Canada. He went to UPS and the estimate was over 150 bucks for the 29 pound shipement, he then went to Fedex (i believe) and it was 43 dollars.

You know, sometimes FedEX is cheaper for shipping but then you pay a TON of customs/duties fees. Trust me on this :) USPS is better off in the long run for most purchases.
You know, sometimes FedEX is cheaper for shipping but then you pay a TON of customs/duties fees. Trust me on this :) USPS is better off in the long run for most purchases.
Ya I paid nearly 100 in customs but he also overstated the value. If you were to put the value at say 20 bucks, you should be fine.

Thanks for the info on the live cards goomba. I think I found a friend who can get a hold of a $35 one for me. If that falls through I will make a direct request through your site.

As for shipping USPS dominates over UPS and Fedex. Both companies like to charge a rediculous broker fee for getting items through customs. I got a turtle tank topper off of ebay for $50 and paid a $30 broker fee to UPS on top of the customs fees. If they had just shipped with USPS I would have only had to pay a $5 broker fee. UPS and Fedex are greedy bastards.
Ya I paid nearly 100 in customs but he also overstated the value. If you were to put the value at say 20 bucks, you should be fine.
At the same time, if your item is received broken or damaged... You only are covered for $20 in damages.

AznChaos, yup sure did. Should be going out sometime between tomorrow and Monday. Keep an eye on your inbox this weekend and I'll do my best to get them out. Today I laid out all the games that came in and put them into 5 rows (yes there's that many). So I've pretty much got everyone's organized now. Just have to re-assemble the orders, and start shipping them out one by one. It doesn't help that the wifey wanted to plastic seal all our windows today (it was necessary though cuz it was SO cold and it does seem to be helping, though it took a few hours to do).

RoganSarine is right as well, if you undervalue the items too much you're screwed if they get damaged in shipping. I think it's better to mark items as close to full price as possible.

Yup, sure did. They also will be going out Monday or Tuesday. Since they are one of the newer items :) Thanks Moses88. They look perfect by the way, definitely not used.

I'm off to bed guys. Same thing tomorrow. Working in the morning/afternoon, coming home and packing away :) Making some great headway though! Lots more orders turning green this weekend I assure you! Thanks for everything.

I believe roughly $0.50 - $1.50 depending on weight. Shouldn't affect us all that much, but we'll see. Official price changes will be available mid-January when they go up. I'll keep you guys posted. I wouldn't lose sleep over it though :)

Looks like we are getting a good sized blizzard here in the northeast USA. I am at work for another 3 or 4 hours though. Talk to you guys later!

Azumangaman, packing them as we speak. They won't go out till Monday though because of the blizzard and because the post office is closed on Monday. I'll be sure to pack them well though so no worries. Thanks again for testing out the multiple item form! You were the first and so far no issues with it. Next DR 2.0 is coming in two weeks ^_^ Looking forward to that. May be another Canuck Bucks reward as well ;)

TigerToa, I'm happy to say the house is a comfortable 69-70 degrees F right now. It's going to cost a fortune I'm sure, but at least I'm not freezing. Outside we have maybe 4-5 inches of snow but they say we may get as much as 25. Not looking forward to shoveling that tomorrow morning :)

Hey Goomba!

I was just wondering if my Tales of Vesperia was sent out yet. Haha, I ordered it on the night of Black Friday and I haven't gotten it yet. =) No rush though but I wanted to see what was up.

** SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE **

You guys may have heard that expression before. Basically it means whoever makes their issue known will get the immediate attention of the listener (in this case, me). If I have overlooked your order, or if you just want to know what's going on with your specific order/case just let me know here. I'll tack on your order to the mini GYROS updates I'm doing daily. That way you know I didn't forget about you :)

As promised, there will be a lot more entries after this weekend ^_^ Working as hard as I can through this mini-blizzard!

The Thing was mine wasn't it?

Son of a... Why does the one I specifically want in a B2G1 always get denied from me? No big deal though... I just find it hilariously funny.

I don't know whether the thing order was mine, or the indigo prophecy order... I ordered both with Ragnar ha ha

By the way: Boxarts fine right?

RoganSarine, yes surprisingly 99% of the GoHastings games look AWESOME. Some of them even came factory sealed (not your items, but just mentioning for the record). Your copy of Beyond Good & Evil's case looks like it was never played though (game has some minor scratches, but nothing major). Very impressed with them actually :) Packing that now. For the record, your Indigo Prophecy did come in and looks almost Perfect! (Xbox version). The Suffering has the case, but no manual also. Soul Reaver 2 is only obvious Gamestop game: has sticker residue, Gamestop "Used" sticker inside case and is missing the manual. This disc has the most scratches of the bunch, but should play fine. Doesn't look particularly deep or anything. Hope you like 'em!

Uh... You sure that wasn't Ragnars? All my orders were for PS2 o_O Which is why I was questioning The Thing. Doesn't REALLY matter... I still have my original xbox :p

I got a disk resurfacer, and I don't care overly for manuals in the end... So I'm all good.

But yeah... So...

Darkwatch
Suffering 1
Suffering Ties that Bind
Beyond Good and Evil
Indigo Prophecy
The Thing

The only one that didn't come in was the thing? o_O How does that work with a B2G1 o_O

RoganSarine, Most of the games were quite cheap so it only made a difference of a few dollars total. The game you would have gotten for the $1.00 would have been the Thing anyhow, so it didn't affect the other games if that makes any sense. Also, the link you had pointed to in the past for Indigo Prophecy brought me to the Xbox version, so I'm not sure if it was a site error or if you just pasted the wrong one, but sorry for the misunderstanding. I already packed it up though so do what you will with it. It's only a $3 or $4 game on the Xbox anyhow.

Hope they get to you soon!

Did you manage to order Operation Darkness for me? I don't see it in your update but it's probably cause you haven't received it. There was also TWEWY from amazon.

Well, that's the thing about Go Hastings.

For future reference, GoHastings works with a game selection bar on the left hand side as far as I know where you can choose your system. I have no idea how you can "save" this setting without adding the game to your cart. By default, it's set to whatever is at the top (which is the cheapest version), which is why I listed the prices beside my order for the game I want...

Indigo Prophecy on the Xbox was like $3, while it was $7-8 on PS2. I wish it was on PS2 just because I like the Sony library I have, but I do have a regular xbox that can play custom music (which shouldn't be played on Dingo, but whatever), so it's not erally a big deal... All my friends own 360's, so I can show them this awesome unique game for once :p

Thanks for ordering the stuff... But seriously though, if 2 of my games didn't ship (I know The Thing would have been $1 though.. that's why I wanted it... I did have other things I could have gotten for $1 :( ), and the indigo prophecy version I got was so cheap... How expensive is their shipping? :hot:

Actually, in hindsight... Xbox may be better -- I can hopefully get my friends interested in heavy rain.

Anyway... I got like... $40 in amazon gift cards. I am going to DR them sometime tomorrow when I wake up, if you could just add them to my credit.

Edit: Oh, I totally just realized I got 7 games... Apparently, I can't count :p

With my Firefox setup, whenever I select the format I want the page url refreshes to reflect the change. Donno why your browser didn't do that for you. You left NoScript on maybe?

Anyways, if it makes you happy the Xbox version is superior AFAIK ;) I just ordered the PS2 version myself cause I want both :)
