GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.


Service Charges (GFC Premium):

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items.This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

I stopped at that page, as I was able to do that with the previous system to avoid paying at that time.

It doesn't make sense for me to pay for every single item separately, as that way I'd be paying a ton more than needed for shipping, so I guess what I'll have to do is just stop giving you the heads up items are coming and just send you batched PF orders? All this means is that you'll have items for me sometimes for months and won't know who they're for. (Unless there is another option?)

I am going to have a "Pay later" option for members who want to add multiple orders together I just haven't coded it yet (and am not sure the best way to do it at this moment) but it will be an option very soon :) Right now if you click the "Credit Card" link but don't make the payment it'll still send me an Email. So you could do that.

1) Use the new beta PF page and enter all your info.
2) Go to the summary page and make sure all the items and such look right.
3) Click the "Pay with a Credit Card" Link
4) Close the page once it loads (you'll receive an Email copy of your order as will I, I'll just know that you didn't pay for it because there'll be no payment transaction associated. Then you can just Email me when you're ready to let me know what orders you want to combine. Simple as that :) Thanks buddy.

I filled out one package forward using the new form and paid it, just to be sure that bug doesn't apply to my order since it already had all the multiple packages combined in it right? I also wanted to ask, the next time you do go around to pick up some packages, could you let me know if either of my ralph lauren orders are in? I just want to make sure they didn't mess anything up this time around.

OK so it would seem that the BETA test for the new Package Forwarding (PF) page has been a success. I've gone ahead and switched over the BETA version to being the real version (PF 3.0) now so it's live on the site. It's still quite possible that we have glitches in the new coding so if you spot anything out of the ordinary let me know. I still will be working on the rewards system further as I haven't best figured out the way to apply points to your account once you purchase things, but they are tabulating behind the scenes.

Today and tomorrow I'll be processing a bunch of orders and moving along forward. Every day our backlogs become smaller, our processing becomes quicker and our coding becomes more efficient, so we're definitely onto something =) Thanks for all your support guys. Hope you like the new pages. The new DR Page will come likely early March. Cya soon!

That's great news Discotheque. Yeah this holiday season was a bit of a nightmare scenario for me, but things are slowly melting away and turning good again :) Our new Package Forwarding system is now live on the site, which will help go a long way in getting the system truly streamlined. It's still a bit tough for some newer customers, but I figure once we perfect the system then it is only a matter of time before things run like clockwork.

I'll be home almost all day tomorrow and Thursday processing orders, so we'll just keep on on things. New orders as you guys probably know can be pre-paid now for PF and DR orders which means I'll only need to invoice in cases where additional funds are due and such. Should make everyone's lives easier :) Also, I do have the reward system in place though I have to manually credit accounts once I ship out items. So that too will be something for me to work on and tweak ^_^. Cya all soon!

Looks liked it worked as far as sending the order, but it doesn't seem like it gave you the discount for your service charge credits out of your SCC bank. Did you log in to the site as "gsrce" before putting in your submission? Let me know :) Thanks buddy.

The GFC Website is back up and running. Looks like they were just doing some routine server maintenance. All is well :) Back to packing I go now.

Right now I have 2 items at your place,definitely going to keep the fleece (the one you mentioned above)- not sure about stripe though so don't ship anything yet.

I had previously. What's the timeout after I've logged in before it logs me out? I'm used to sites adding a cookie so I can be perma logged in. (Like CAG does)

I'll make sure to log in next time and see if the credit works =)
 
gsrce, my site does use cookies though to be honest I'm not sure if I set them to perma-log. I'll have to double check on my timeout times. If everyone would prefer that then I'll make it so :) Thanks again for the idea. That may be a good idea since I plan to require members to log in soon to place orders (I get too many incomplete forms, and having people login and requiring a full registration would eliminate that issue entirely). Keep in touch.

Derfel, I got your request but didn't have any payment received for it. For any order put through on Direct Request (DR) without payment we treat it as an estimate only. If you'd like us to actually order the item for you please send payment through the site (on Paypal) or contact us to arrange alternative payment. Thanks =)
 
Oh, I must have misunderstood the process. I thought a request was submitted, then an invoice was sent back, then payment was made, then the order was processed. I'm not sure of the item's shipping weight; do I just make a best guess?

Sorry to keep bugging you... when I fill out the initial form and preview the total, the service charge shows up as $7.00. After I click to go to pay, it goes up to $14.50. Is this intentional? Thanks.
 
Derfel, yes the second page includes credit card processing fees and such. You can avoid those extra charges simply by paying with an Amazon Gift Card (up to $200 a month). If you need more information let me know but it typically goes like this:

1) You pick the items you want and fill out the form completely. In the "Additional comments" section put "I will be paying with an Amazon Gift Card".
2) Take note of the original total on the first page before you check out
3) Hit the "Pay Now" with Credit Card option but don't actually complete the payment through Paypal.
4) Send an Amazon Gift Card to [email protected]. In the comments/notes section you can put your order number and be sure your name shows up somewhere so I can match it up to you.

Then that's it. If we need additional funds once the item comes in we'll notify you by Email with an updated invoice. Thanks!

Just wanted to check up to see what you have for me at the moment.

Here is what you should have by now:

Two books
Sleeping Beauty 3 disc Blu (2 disc Blu with slipcover+one bonus dvd disc)
Pinocchio Blu (with slipcover)
Alice in Wonderland Blu

You may as well invoice me for all five items now, as there will be a number of releases coming up over the next few months (Tangled, Tron, Bambi, Incredibles, Dumbo, Nausicca, etc.), so best to get these out of the way now.

As per my most recent invoice, I've paid the fees for the books, so the invoice should be fees for the Blu's and shipping for all five items.

Guys just wanted to let you know I'll be packing a lot today and processing a lot of orders as always. The new Package Forwarding system has cleaned things up significantly for me now (as I hoped it would) and I'm starting to program some major changes into the the system that will allow for instant logging of payments. This will bring us one step closer to real time payment processing and reward points being issued by the server itself.

My family has been super busy with all our baby doctor visits and such and we are now only 8 days away from our due date, so the clock is truly ticking. Starting next Friday I will have 10 days off from all my jobs to stay home with my wife (and baby, as long as the delivery date is close to accurate). I'll be doing some GFC stuff at home as well.

I'll update as many of you on your individual order questions later. I have to go and get my baby car seat fitted in my car now at the local fire department. See you guys soon :)

Awesomo~ I probably shouldn't mention it, but the plushie is fetching $30-$35 on eBay. So I guess I wasn't the only one that thought to themselves "oh, I'll order this plush that comes with a free game" :D

I'm happy to announce that I made a huge breakthrough in my website coding today :) I finally learned how to use Paypal IPN coding successfully. For those of you who don't know, this is the payment notification system that Paypal uses when you submit a payment. With this properly implemented, I'll be able to do a ton of automated functions on the site that have been manual in the past. To you this means quicker payment processing, invoicing and order history and perhaps most exciting of all: instant Service Charge Credits, Canuck Bucks and yes Rewards Points =) More on this next month when I hope to have the final system in place. Things are truly moving along at lightning speed ^_^ Now back to packing I go!
