GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.


Service Charges (GFC Premium):

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items.This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

Just a minor tinge of curiosity to express. I had ordered direct request a week ago, but have heard nothing (apart from confirmation by paypal). Having sent an email to our good friend...I have heard nothing. Excuse the petulant question, but what's going on? Direct request said 1 - 3 days...

Hi there guys, just wanted to let you know that today is my official start of my 10-Day Paternity leave. The baby isn't here yet (due Saturday) but I'll be home the next week and a half which means I can FINALLY catch up on all the orders, updates, and shipping for your items. This combined with the new PF system I put in place and the new DR system I'm working on means very good things for GFC.

I have about 63 Emails from you guys so if you'll excuse me I'll go take care of as many of those as I can. I'll have a lot of time at home, but I'll also have a newborn baby very soon so I want to get as much done before then as possible :) Things are looking good though my friends. I just got an email from paypal and circuit city saying that my my AX Pro's were returned? Can you explain what happened? I am getting a little antsy for that headset, last time I ordered it (from Amazon) go cancelled because price went up before my PayPal cleared.

Thanks a bunch snowsquirrel! Did you ship to the exact address on the site WITHOUT including your name, my business name or the order number anywhere on the package? If not, then the UPS Store we use will refuse the package. Even putting "C/O" or "Care of" and your name will still result in it being returned. This isn't just my policy, the store cannot legally sign for anyone else other than me, so it has to be in just my name only. Hope that makes sense. If you need more info let me know.

My wife and I are going to our UPS store today and will be picking up the newest GFC Packages. Since I'll be working from home all week I expect to be fully caught up on 100% of all orders by the end of this week. If your package is there we should be all set and will contact you in the next couple of days =) Thanks. I'll keep you posted I promise ^_^.

snowsquirrel, as I assumed initially, the error was you put "Games For Canada" in the address. Though I'm registered with them as a business, they are not legally allowed to sign for packages in my business name. Hence, the reason I put on my website to ONLY ship to my name. So it's unfortunate, but hopefully you can get it resent and corrected from the company. So please send your next item to the address on my PF site the way it is EXACTLY :) Thanks!

Yes, the due date is 2/26/2011 ... as in less than 48 hours. *wipes brow* I'm excited and we're just ready for the little guy (or girl...we're still not sure which). Our standard side banners are 150x50 so if you could make one that size, that'd be ideal but as long as it's 150 pixels in width and not too tall it'll do ^_^ Thanks man, hope things are going well with you and your family!

Just so you know guys, I'm doing a huge GYROS update tonight so please if you haven't heard from me about your order status just hold on a couple hours :) Things are ahead of schedule on my home stay-cation so I'm on target to catch up on all recent orders. Just hang in there a little longer and your order status will be updated tonight. I promise =)

Goomba, is there any advantage of Direct Request versus Forwarding? They cost the same?

Also, Astro only offers FedEx shipping, can I get FedEx delivered to your PO? It is also asking if it is Bus. or Residential, what should I put?

snowsquirrel, they are very similar services but with some differences. Here's my honest assessment of both:

Direct Request: Use this if you want to buy something that you are unable to buy with your own credit card/Paypal, etc. Having us order the items for you means we do all the dirty work and you just let us know what you want. You'll estimate what the shipping is and as long as you're on target your items will be ordered by us and shipped directly to you once we receive them. If additional funds are due we'll let you know before shipping them out. Great for items that don't require particularly need rush service and good for combining multiple orders as well. The only downside being that there tends to be a slightly higher processing charge for these orders.

Package Forwarding: Use this when you want to buy an item yourself for something that is a limited time offer or something you need to buy yourself to earn points/rewards/etc. It's also good for items you want to have other CAG users send you and things like that. Having them sent to me directly (with only my name again) ensures they get to me and then we can handle the repackaging and shipping for you.

As for FedEX yes in theory you can get it shipped to my UPS Store, though there have been a few cases with FedEX just leaving the packages outside the store and not actually delivering them as they're supposed to. I'd recommend having us order items that are shipped via FedEX personally. It is a business address though for future reference.
 
** GFC Rewards Program (Beta) Has Officially Started **

OK so it has begun! It's still in it's early stages but here's a quick run down of how our GFC Rewards works in its current state:

1) You will earn 10% back of all your service charges you pay back as Bonus Service Charge Credits (SCC's) towards future purchases.

2) You earn points on all Direct Request (DR) and Package Forwarding (PF) orders. GFC Store items are currently not included in this promotion.

3) You MUST be registered on GFC as a member and you must be logged into the site when you order using the DR or PF services. If you are logged in as a guest, you will not accumulate points.

4) Your points will be applied to your account once your item(s) ship out and will be available for you immediately towards your next order(s).

5) At the moment only the PF system will automatically apply your bonus SCC's but within the next week or so we will be adding the code for the DR system as well.

If you have any questions on how this works just let us know. It's still a work in progress, but we think it'll be a really great way to reward frequent users and will motivate newcomers to try out our services as well. Feedback is always appreciated =)

** ABOUT OUR GYROS SYSTEM **

Also important: For those of you who have been with GFC since our start nearly three years ago, you know we've come a long way. Back in the first months we used to do order updates just in the CAG thread, but we've grown in size a lot since then and now process up to 100-200 orders a month. We created the GYROS (Green, Yellow, Red Order System) to help us keep track of all the orders as well as give you guys a rough idea of where your orders stand. This is updated by us manually using Google Docs and a couple other web hosting pages and is not meant to be a be-all and end-all system. It's just for your convenience. If you notice something on GYROS that is wrong you can Email us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to straighten it out, but please do not assume anything based on the GYROS text. We are working hard to make the GYROS truly real-time but it's still a while away before this will happen. For now we try to update GYROS at least 2-3 times a week and keep it as updated as possible. Hi guys, just saying hi. For some reason I didn't get any notifications from CAG about there being new posts in here so I had no idea. Just wanted to give you some quick updates:

1) GFC Website: Everything is still operational and moving swiftly. We have a good amount of orders we're processing, but for the most part the estimated times on the website are accurate. We're updating GYROS in nearly real-time as well so if you see something on there that's not right let us know. We try to add items within 3 days to GYROS, so just give us time.

2) Our Baby: We were supposedly having the baby on our due date of 2/26 but that hasn't happened yet so we're about a week past due now. No worries though. Our doctor says this is very normal and if the baby isn't here by Thursday naturally we're going to be inducing. So this means that by this upcoming Friday I'll be father at last :) I'm excited to say the least!

3) GFC After the Baby: For the most part things won't change much. I'll be home for a couple of days where I'll be primarily taking care of my wife and the newborn baby, but I'll also be trying to keep up with new DR and PF orders. I'm going to need the income so I'm going to do my best to keep the site as operational and functional as possible. No worries =)

4) DR Updates: The Direct Request service will be receiving some major updates in line with the recent PF updates we implemented a couple weeks ago. This means that your Service Charge Credits and Canuck Bucks will be applied to orders when you have credits, and you'll also earn reward points on new orders once payment clears and your items ship. This will likely be launching in early April, but just giving you a heads up.

I am going back to work now for the first time in 10 days, so I'll do my best to keep up with your Emails, and questions here in the forum. Since those two titles mentioned above come out in the first week of April, you can sit on the above items for me until then, or ship some of them if you want, but I'm not in any hurry, so waiting until mid April for everything would be fine for me.
