GameStop $5 Coupon - not stackable with BF promo?

I had enough GameStop points to buy a $5 off an item at GameStop. So I purchased one with my points.

I went to the store to get Black Flag for Wii U, on sale for $39.99. When the cashier tried to use my $5 off coupon on the game, the price did not change. The system instead changed the price to 44.99 and took my $5 off to make it $40. Same BF price.

The manager said the two are not stackable. He said I can only use one. It surprised me because I was able to use my Best Buy Reward Zone points with their BF prices.

I did still buy the game at their $39.99 price, just bummed I couldn't use the $5 off with it. Anyone have experience with this?

All of Gamestop's BF deals are apparently non-stackable. For example, the $40 Xenoblade does not stack with B2G1, which I learned first-hand yesterday.

Someone stated that it had listed in the fine print on the ad that they didn't stack.  And I've never been able to stack deals on their website with codes either.
