GameStop Ad 12/26-12/29: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/weeklyad/current/122612/pdf/olfsi_122612.pdf

6 pages of meh, but some highlights from the last 2 pages:

 • B2G1 on any Pre-owned Wii or DS games p.7
 • Double In-Store Credit when you trade any system p.8
 • 50% Extra In-Store Credit for every game you trade p.8

I know this is usually litepink's thing (props), but I'm not about type out the whole ad when the .pdf is readily available. I wikified the thread if litepink or others would like to add other items of special interest.

while doing a little trading, I saw 2 Care Packages and 2 AC:III LE. Pretty crazy to see those I thought.

Store that had the 2 black ops said they were both returned by same person, who got more than just 2...I thought they limited CE orders? Never gonna pay $180 for that but at like $100 I would take the dive
damn, i dint have a stylus with my Ds Lite and the guy couldn't give me the 50%. Then refused to let me buy a stylus and take it out and give it to him with it. guess ill do it tomorrow after buying a stylus.
thats just stupid, what they should have done was let you purchase the stylus on the same transaction, in all just taking the price of the stylus out of the whole value....man employees these days at retail stores (from a former GS manager)
what about a fat 360 with 20gb hd and wireless controller?
Most likely the same $65 base.
Update. I was able to trade it in. At the store I traded it in to had the system for 75 bucks (other store I checked was 80) so I got 150 out of it. The store's refurb fee was 35 (compared to other store's 40 fee) so in the end I got 115 which is pretty nice. Both stores I checked had different prices and lost about 5 bucks but thats nothing considering 1 store said the promo doesn't apply with broken system. I rather lose 5 bucks than gain nothing.

Hope when you do it on Saturday that you don't have any issues. Just make sure it's complete. I brought a mini usb cable to be safe. Not sure if that is something you do need to bring.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I'll probably include the USB etc, don't want to give them any opportunity to deny the trade!

So if the Wii is missing its front SD slot cover, they knock off $14 for a refurb service charge so...

-Wii (original white system) = $23 base ($46 total - $14 refurb = $32)
-Wii classic controller (other) = $3.30

Wii games
-Disney's Epic Mickey = $6.00
-Monster Hunter Tri = $5.00

360 games
-Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim = $11.00
-Dishonored = $14.00
-Assassin's Creed 3 = $18.00
-LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes = $8.00
-SSX = $6.00

-universal HDMI cable = $4.40

Total (with Wii console - refurb) = $148.50

i dont know where to post this but both store on my area are selling ninja gaiden collector edition for 24.99. manual override needed. ymmv i think

Hmm, might trade my fat 360 in and trade up to Slim 250GB Holiday bundle. I've got a 120GB HDD, but I'd have to keep it so I can do my transfer, plus it sells for $40+ on eBay. HDMI sounds nice.

They don't need a HDD for the fat 360's right?

Correct, but your late on a decent deal since the holiday bundle was $200.

Damn, I am late. Although I guess the Double Console trade in evens it out a little.

Might have to trade in my old fat 360 that I have laying around. If I could get 130 for it without trading the HDD, it sounds like the best value I could get for an old one.

I traded away an old 360 today with the video not working. $130 for the trade - the referb fee of $28. So basically $100 for a non working unit im ok with. 20GB HHD was only 6 bucks fyi.
so how much is the fat xbox 360 refurbished fees? Will they take an xbox with a stuck tray?
I just traded in a launch unit with a stuck tray, $28 refurbish fee, ended up being $102.

First Gamestop turned me down because I didn't have the newer style warranty sticker, which didn't exist on launch units. Second one took it no problem.

I just traded in a perfectly working white 360 with a wireless controller. First GameStop I took it to wanted to charge me a $28 refurbish fee anyway and I told them to shove it. Then I went to a different GameStop and got the full $130 so I bought me a shiny new 250gb holiday bundle.
The first GameStop said that they are suppose to charge a refurbish fee on all white 360 consoles but like I said I thought that was bs so I kinda got smart with the guy then left.
I have a fat 360 that I had to fix for the RROD. Do they take em?
For the most part they should. If anything is defective with the item they will charge you a Refurb fee. Some stores may decline it though. Should call before going. And make sure it has everything needed to play it. So system, Video/Power cables and a controller. Depending on the controller (wired/wireless) you will get a certain amount. HDD isn't needed with the system but you can trade it in for a few bucks. I did see somebody get rejected because the controller he had was in extremely bad condition so it's YMMV.

I traded in my launch model with stuck tray for $100 during the extra $50 promo. The tray would only stick sometimes, and always when vertical. But, they pissed me off before they even learned the tray was stuck by telling me it requires a refurb fee because the fan is too loud. I told them with it not being a slim, they are all loud, and they tried to tell me it is louder than what they have been seeing, and the left stick on the controller was not tight, so it required a refurb fee. I know what they were talking about from my experience, and this was total BS as my items were not in this condition.

So, I took it back home, opened the tray and put a game in, turned it back off leaving the game in and went back later. Tray opened fine because there was a disc in it, and I walked out with my $100 credit.

damn that issue is so easy to fix (it's just a rubberband adjustment) utube videos abound showing the couple simple steps....

How much would I get for a dsi system without a stylus?

I don't have a charger either but I'm willing to get one if the store will except it without a stylus

Just got back from GS. Traded in my old fatty elite for $130 plus another $14 for the HD. It's worth noting that my 360 was modded, but I did save the warranty sticker. Also the little door to the front USB ports lost the spring. Still got the full amount, no refurb fee.

Turned right around and bought a new slim holiday bundle and paid $65 out of pocket after tax (Texas) and after using a leftover Christmas gift card.

Pretty happy right now, not gonna lie.

A charger and stylus are both required.

Just a warning: the double trade credit for systems is a scam.

The Xbox 360 S with hard drive normally trades for $150. With the double credit promo, GS slashes the trade value to $80 so you're only getting an extra $10.

Hah. I just got done trading in my own 360 that was missing the spring for the USB port door. The system was near mint otherwise and they tried to hit me with a $28 refurb fee because of the missing spring. I was kind of dumbfounded that they thought I'd be OK with $28 for a spring.

I took it back, took it to the next GS over, and got $130.

I traded in a year old xbox 360 4g kinect bundle today and received 196 dollars in trade credit. I wasnt charged a refurb fee and if my mic had the foam piece i would have gotten an extra 5 bucks. I know some have been saying that a base trade for this system is 150 without the promotion, but thats just not true. I have been checking weekly for a couple months and the base trade hovers between 65 and 80. This weeks promotion doubles that trade in value and last weeks offer added 50 dollars. I traded for a star wars bundle, which unfortunetly isnt on sale this week. Thanks to the gamestop employeed that told me to wait until the 26th instead of the 24th. Saved a nice piece of change.
I have a 20GB PS3 I want to unload and was wondering if I needed to have all the original cables and manuals? The warranty seal has also been taken off so I don't know if that factors in and they'll take some money off?

You need the cables, no manuals. Also if the warranty seal is broke, you're also sol.

they wont take it without the warranty seal intact (unless you get a lazy employee who doesnt really care and just tests it to play) and yes you need all original hook ups and 1 controller
*Updating story* Took in the 20GB to my nearest GameStop. I was so damn nervous that they'd see that the warranty seal had been taken off, but they didn't. The guy that did the trade in was apparently a seasonal employee, he was nice and all but kept having to ask another employee for help. They gave me $80 ($160 with bonus) for the 20GB. Also took my brother's old Wii and received $23 ($46). I tried to trade in my original DS and PSP 2000 but I didn't have the stylus or the charger for the PSP. The guy took forever to do the trade in but as soon as he gave me the gift card I ran the fuck out of there.

Went home and got the PSP charger and went to a different GameStop five minutes away from the first. PSP 2000 $20 ($40) and $15 ($30) for the DS. I was surprised the guy took the DS since it was obvious that it was missing the stylus.

thx for the info. if gs would restock on kindle cards i would trade in my 4gb kinect bundle in a heartbeat.

Did my trade, but not before falling victim to Gamestop Logic. I brought the PS3, controller with USB, power cord and HDMI cable. I tell him up front it doesn't play games and I'm fine with the refurb fee. Then I'm told because I didn't bring the ORIGINAL AV cable that came with the PS3 they can't take it. I am like...what the fuck. I tossed that crap away on day one and have been using HDMI from the beginning. I am offering them a BETTER CABLE than the outdated junk that was packaged with the PS3. Then he adds that I can buy a cable from the store and trade it in with the system. The cable costs $17.99 plus tax.
Of course I've left it until the last day of the trade promo to do this, and its 8.45 pm. No time to order a $1 cable from amazon or what have you. We work out that with the purchase of the cable, I'll be walking away with $95.71. It's a 40GB PS3 that doesn't read discs. So I think about it while he's serving other people, I even checked ebay on my phone to see what a non working system will get (about $40 to $60, it seems). So I did the trade. Eesh. A strangely ironic consolation when I get home is that, as well as the HDMI cable, I still have the controller charging cable. They weren't concerned about getting that, apparently!

That sucks. I should of probably mentioned actual composite cables cause I know GS will only take those (cause its the cables that actually do come with systems). I actually got a bunch of them lying around since it's the same for PS2 and 3 (I think PS1 too). At least you got something for it.

Got $102 for an rrod launch 360 that sat in my garage for two years. I had no idea they were worth anything.

Not everyone has a TV that uses HDMI.

I had a PS2 with a non Sony wired controller, bought from Gamestop ironically, that the guy tried to refuse. First he gives me shit about the controller even though I called and was told it was okay for full trade %. He goes, what if some kid buys it and Kingdom Hearts ( apparently the controller didn't have one of the push features? ) I call his bluff and he goes about testing it with one game, works perfectly. Then he takes another disk from next to the register and puts it in and gets a "magical dual shock error code" which in all my years gaming I have never seen. Rings it up and takes 10 off for a refurb fee, I call his bullshit out, that I watched him play simpsons hit and run and it ran fine and demanded to see the other disc he put in. He mumbles it was just a psone game. I told him I knew what he was doing and it was kind of shitty to advertise a bonus and try and knock it down with a refurb fee ( this gamestop is famous for refurb fees on anything you bring in, game missing a manual -.10 off refurb fee etc ) When I call out the fact the psone game is so scratched to hell its lucky to even play and as a "playstation specialist" he should know that ( it was on his shirt lol) he relents and knocks off the refurb fee.

Lesson of the day : be firm with these gamestop derps and you'll win the day.

if you have prime just try to order an AV cable on Amazon and return it to GS for your full refund.
