Gamestop.com $5 Off any NEW Nintendo DS Game

WebWizard

CAGiversary!
* Updated to reflect ability to stack the "20FGS" coupon code - (Thanks to ssjmichael / also to LeonSKennedy for figuring out multiple $5 off with the stack)

Was on Gamestop.com and added a New Nintendo DS game to cart auto took $5 off. Showing promo -
5 OFF DS - $5 off any new in-stock DS game. Cannot be combined with any other offers

Tried multiple games such as GTA Chinatown Wars.. and Lego Harry Potter.. Auto Code taking $5 off every DS game added to cart regardless of price per game.

NOTE:
- Any "NEW" DS title works (price doesn't matter as long as it's NEW) and will auto discount $5 off every game in cart.

* Example: Buy a $15 DS game and get it for $10 before tax. Buy a $15 game and a $25 game get both for $30 before tax. You can stack code "SAVER" and receive FREE value shipping using this option for buying games less than $29.99 each, as long as your order total equals $25 or more.

STACKING:
- You can buy 2 games and "STACK" "20FGS" (must be $29.99 or more per game) and will deduct 20% off each game in cart + $5 off 1st game

- Add 3 or more games to cart (game must be $29.99 or more) and stack "20FGS" to receive 20% off each game + $5 off x 2 games. The more games you add, the more you save. 3 titles 20% off each + $10 off... 4 titles 20% off each + $15 off...and so forth..

- If stacking "20FGS" on 2 or more ($29.99 and up) games, your order will receive "FREE Ground Shipping".

So there it is.. Great way to save some $$ and stock up on any NEW DS titles you may have been wanting. I didn't see a banner anywhere on the site so at first I was a little shocked at the auto savings when adding DS games to cart, but cool! :)

I was able to get it to stack with this 20% off code: 20FGS When I added two DS games to the cart. I'll keep playing around with it.

Did it actually apply the 20% off? Mine didnt, it just showed up at the bottom

EDIT:
I put 2 DS games in and it took 5 dollars off of one, then applied 20% off of both. Interesting

This started back with the DSi testing where you went in-store for a $5 coupon. The website matched, but apparently never got rid of the deal.

It applied both deductions to the first game. For instance, if you add Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey (29.99) and Harry Potter years 1-4 (29.99), it'll show this:

20FGS - 20% off and Free ground shipping on in-stock orders totalling $29.99 or more. Excludes, consoles, bundles and special editions. May not be combined with other offers. Expires 7/31/10 11:59PM - LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - $6.00

Sweet, I added both Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey and Puzzle Quest 2. Initially, it subtracted $5 from each game, but when I applied the 20FGS coupon I got the following:

20FGS - 20% off and Free ground shipping on in-stock orders totalling $29.99 or more. Excludes, consoles, bundles and special editions. May not be combined with other offers. Expires 7/31/10 11:59PM - Puzzle Quest 2

- $6.00

Total after tax: $46.31

Thanks, OP and ssjmichael for a sweet DS deal.

that total sounds too high

30 + 30 - 12 - 5 wow 3 buck tax on 43 bucks that is almost 10% sales tax

Heh, just discovered this myself when I accidentally added a second copy of Professor Layton to my cart. Now I just have to decide which other $29.99 game I want to buy. Getting $8.50 off two $30 games isn't too shabby, especially with Nintendo published games that usually never drop in price.

I guess you don't live in Tennessee. ;)

$3 would be 7% which is what it is in Indiana.

7% isn't that high compared to what it is in some states though (particularly big tourist States.)

That's why it's always better to look for places that don't add the tax.
I was able to get it to stack with this 20% off code: 20FGS When I added two DS games to the cart. I'll keep playing around with it.
Added 3 to my cart and it took $5 off two of them and 20% off all three of them. (note has to be a $29.99 game or above I think)

Could be useful if you were looking at stocking up on some newer DS games. It's pretty close to a buy 2 get 1 free deal.
Hoping this holds out until DQIX comes out!
Yeah, I may take a gamble on that myself. Worst case, I still have a $10 credit at both Amazon and GameStop which I was saving for this title. The $5+20% is only going to get me $2 more off the game, but it'd be nice to be able to save onto the credit if I could.

From my experimentation, the more titles you add, the lower the price per title. What I mean by that is each title takes 20% off with the 20FGS code. Then there's $5 taken off for each additional title you add minus 1. In other words, if you add only two $29.99 titles to your cart, you get the 20% off each, plus one $5 off offer. If you add a 3rd $29.99 or more title, you get the 20% off each plus another $5 off (meaning $10 off your total). By adding a 3rd title, I was paying $21 something a game (before tax). With each additional game, another $5 off code was added (4 games- 3 $5 off codes; 5 games- 4 $5 off codes; etc.).

It will give you one $5 off code if you order just one game (with the 20FGS code, it gives you the $6 off a $29.99 title), but not two $5 off codes if you only order two games (only one $5 off code, but both games are discounted 20%).

I have Dragon Quest IX pre-ordered from Gamestop paying $26.24 for it (used the 25OFF promo code when you had to buy $100 of titles to receive $25 off). If I canceled that order, and bought it again with two other titles (DQIV is $34.99, but the other two are $29.99), my total before tax would be $65.97.

That means I'm only paying $21.99 a title (two $29.99 games plus $34.99 for DQIV). Then again, if this offer expires before the release date of DQIV, then I'd have to pay full price (I'd of course apply one of my $10 off promo codes, so I'd be paying about the same price with tax- $24.99 plus 6% tax).

I'll see how things play out, but right now this is yet another hellish deal from GS!

Edge discount woulda made this deal REALLY good, especially with my CRAZY California (LA County) 9.75% Sales Tax!!..Here in CA you basically need the Edge card just to save the tax and a whopping 0.25% discount... but still nice and decent deal if your in the market for new DS titles.

NOTE: will be updating my OP with the new info found on stacking codes.

* EDIT: OP now updated to reflect all price adjustments and stacking options
ehh, still more than I'm willing to pay for DS games, esp. after adding sales tax (7% in Iowa)
Where in Iowa? I'm in Des Moines, and it's only 6% sales tax here (some retailers only charge 5% Sales tax- Polk County has a 1% Local Option Sales Tax which means they collect an additional 1% for the Schools in our district).

I canceled my original order of DQIX for $26.24 (with tax, $27.81). I'm going to see if come July 11th, this offer still works? If so, I'm ordering Dragon Quest IX with 2 or more $29.99 DS titles (maybe 3 or 4). Otherwise, I just buy it for $34.99, and use one of my $10 off Coupon codes plus SAVER to receive free S&H. Even if I have to resort to option two, I pay less than $27.81.

However, I'm curious if GS looks at my original order and realizes that it was part of my 25OFF promo code? In other words, I had to order DQIX in order to meet the $100 criteria to receive 25% off my entire order. Because I canceled this (the other items I've received with the 25% off included for each), will they retroactively charge me because I did not meet the requirements of spending $100 on the order?

I guess it'll serve as a litmus test. If they don't, in future promos I'll just pre-order two games I have no intention of buying. I'll get the 25% off the one item I "do want", then cancel the other two once they get close to being released.

Actually your facts are a bit outdated... Prior to July 1, 2008, the Iowa sales tax rate was 5%, plus there were TWO potential option taxes, a Local Option and a School Option, of 1% each, which could be imposed by each county on an either/both basis. However on July 1, 2008 they raised the state sales tax rate to 6% across the board, and eliminated the School Option tax altogether, leaving the counties with only the 1% Local Option tax as an option, which is NOT related to the schools (the state provides school funding through a different channel now). Thus, there are NO locations in Iowa where you can still pay 5% tax, everywhere in the Des Moines area is 6% if you start checking your receipts ;) And I do most of my shopping in Jasper and Marshall counties, both of which have enacted the Local Option to make it 7%.

That must have been why Dell and some of the other retailers I've ordered things from in the past only charged 5% Sales Tax instead of 6%. They didn't honor the Local Option Sales Tax. Yes you're right that all of Iowa is 6%. I just wasn't aware that some communities charged an additional 1% as well.

I used the 25% off a $100 order to grab Modnation Racers. I also pre-ordered a game with it, and then cancelled the pre-order once I recieved Modnation Racers. No extra charges for me, nor did they do anything to all the other games I have pre-ordered through the deal.

I was able to stack it with one of my $10 off codes(From Customer Service so stackable) and the total came to $8.99 before taxes for Mega Man Zero Collection. Fantastic deal. Thanks OP!:D Wouldn't have seen this otherwise.

Doesn't work with Bowser's Inside Story? Only game I have in my cart, and I see no $5 off.

Edit: With 20FGS the $5 isn't stacking unless I have 2 games in the cart and then it only applies the $5 to 1 game.
Edit2: Oops, didn't read OP properly. Nevermind.

When you order New from gamestop.com you always get a new/sealed copy; it comes from a warehouse, not one of the stores.

And LeonSKennedy... I work in a casino, and every couple days this one customer named Leon comes in, I always think of you LOL

LOL ;)

Had you read my "long-winded" comment, you'd have known this (having to buy two games to get $5 off plus 20% off the two titles). In other words, the 20% is stackable, while the $5 isn't (you have to have a +1 in order to get $5 off).

I actually only bought one game, Mega Man Zero Collection, and the codes stacked together with no problem. Total was $8.99 after I used a $10 off coupon too.

I guess its dead now... crap

Coupon 20FGS - 20% off and Free ground shipping on in-stock orders totalling $29.99 or more. Excludes, consoles, bundles and special editions. May not be combined with other offers. Expires 7/8/10 11:59AM

was just about to go nuts with it too....
