Did you open the game to see what the board looked like? 

I would have still kept it, if the board was the original in a reproduction shell.  I know that's long shot of happening.

 
This isnt the first I have heard of this unfortunately. They can have some deals from time to time and I got my Secret of Mana from there (legit thankfully) but a lot of the time its not worth it for higher valued games. Mainly I refuse to buy Gba and Ds games from them since they are so highly pirated and these people have no clue.

 
Ive sold GS retro games before and they do not check at all for authenticity. They have no training. Could easily rip them off if you wanted to

 
It is rather hard and time consuming to do so. I would be for a price threshold to check it they are original. For a game that is less than $40, okay fine don't check its not the biggest deal. But something like Earthbound, you bet your behind I want the SGA to make sure it is the real deal.
