GameStop Game Days Sale
Online only: Use coupon code GD10 for an extra 10% off

(3/26-4/25)
Sale is for NEW GAMES/ACCESSORIES ONLY
Begins Friday March 26th and Ends April 25th

Please visit http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/
for the most up to date and accurate list, although if you are visiting before 3/26/10 the sale prices may not be updated yet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS[hiddenlist]
Q. Why is Saw (360/PS3) $24.99 and not $19.99 like originally posted?
A. It seems the price was read wrong at first, or just assumed to be $19.99, as the accurate and final list has it listed for $24.99. The game is still garbage in my opinion, but is an easy 1000 Achievement Points / Platinum Trophy. I recommend renting it, or waiting for a lower price.

Q. WHERE IS THE 10% Game Day Sale Coupon????
A. The past few Game Day sales did have a 10% coupon inside the Game Informer magazines, However the current Game Informer (Portal 2 on the cover) that has the Game Day sale advertised DOES NOT have the coupon. No official word if a coupon will be given or exist at this time. Just keep checking the thread for updates from fellow CAGS. Perhaps it will be distributed in the next Game Informer (in April) or with the Weekly Coupon in the GameStop E-mails.

Q. Will the games be gutted? if so how do I get a SEALED copy?
A. Yes, stores always gut their games to put into the sale bin. YMMV on whether the store guts every copy, or just one of each copy of the game. Best advice, is to get their early on the first day in hopes they did not get around to getting all the copies yet. Some stores in my area seem to hate gutting multiple copies, and generally just gut one copy in general as a standard. Once again YMMV.

It's GameStop expect gutted copies, if anything try to price match with BestBuy since the prices will be posted online here: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/

Q. Why does GameStop GUT their games?
A. I assume it is obviously to prevent theft since they are a small retail store (space wise), and not like BestBuy. It is not cost effective for a company that operates in small locations to use security detectors (more cost), so the GUT method works for them. Just politely ask for a sealed copy if they have it, or just say no thanks. Please don't complain in the threads. Shit gets old. I hate gutted copies just like the next guy, but it is nothing new, just move on.

Q. Are the games on sale NEW or USED?
A. All games/accessories on sale are NEW. If a Buy 2 Get 1 Free does occur during the Game Day sale then that will be for USED games only.

Q. Will the USED prices drop because the NEW ones are on sale?
A. Depends, typically when a NEW game is on a temporarily price drop, the USED copy will stay at its current price. So Assassins Creed 2 which is on sale for $29.99 NEW during the sale, may still have a USED price of $54.99. However, there are times when they will drop the USED price as well to reflect the NEW price drop.

Q.
Where is the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Used Games?
A. As far as I recall, GameStop usually holds a B2G1 Free at the beginning and/or end of the Game Days sale. I just got this list from fellow CAGs Driftninja & arcurifisher, and just organized it. Although the other threads have not 100% confirmed it as of 3/25/10, I think it is pretty safe to say there will be a B2G1 sometime during this Game Day sale. Check back for updates.

Q. These games on sale are horrible, any chance of better games being added?
A. Yes, I agree a good portion of the games are horrible, I mean "My Baby First Steps" seriously?. GameStop is known to add / remove games during the Game Day sales, so yes some new titles could be added, but don't expect it to be anything great, but you never know, maybe this year...

Q. Why were there so many threads on this sale?
A. Not sure why since I didn't make them, but don't flame the thread creators because it is just people trying to contribute to the CAG community. Just be polite please, and hopefully we will have a single thread to follow during the sale.[/hiddenlist]

Ordered Sacred 2 and Prototype last night in order to get the free shipping. Not sure I really want Protoype yet, so may return it and wait for it to be even cheaper.

To add to the debate from earlier posts, I enjoyed Infamous much more than Protoype. I Gameflied both and sent Prototype back pretty qiuickly. Having said that, I love these sand box type destroy whatever you want games, so I still want to play through Prototype at some point.

Also, more opinions...if you have any desire to play a game similar to Sacred 2, then $20 is a very good price for it. I enjoyed playing the first few hours of it when I rented it a while back.

One warning, Sacred 2 does NOT have a pause button or option! This is the only thing that is really a drag to me. Makes no sense whatsoever, so you have to make sure you walk away only if you are in a town or safe zone.
Just a heads up, if you can print the list from gamestop you may want to bring it with you.

I picked up Dragon Ball: Raging Blast on the PS3 because they told me the 360 copy wasn't a part of the sale. I checked their website, saw it for the sale price, and brough the print out to the store. They looked at it, looked at me, and exchanged it for the 360 edition.

Good Luck everyone.
you shouldn't have had to go through so much trouble.. shouldn't the sale price have come up when scanned? or does it come up as a different price?
20PS3 has expired as well.

I'll just head to the store later as I have to trade something in as well.

Thanks for the info, though.
Actually, the notice that just came up when I tried to use it said it expired on 3/24 at 11:59am or when 2000 people had used it.

I'm going to be skipping Sacred 2 (I have Diablo 2 and Torchlight and Titan Quest, all better IMO), but will get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection in its stead.

Hoo-ah!

20BOX worked just fine a moment ago. Snagged Blazblue and Afro Samurai!

What are the chances of new games ordered online being gutted?

Seriously? That's fucked up! I wonder how many gamers peed their pants because they couldn't leave the game to go to the bathroom to take a leak.

Just got COD:WAW. It was not gutted so I was happy. I think the only time I get ungutted games from GS is during the Gameday Sales.
I think that's pretty ridiculous since we are all giving our opionions here. Unless you are reselling it without opening it or want a code for content included in it who the hell cares if it has the guide and a perfectly unscratched disc inside?

Do you also buy new cars that have 0 miles on them and have never been moved outside the showroom? =]
You shouldn't care so much about others opinions then. We all do things differently based on what pleases us. On another note, some idiot is suing GS for used games sales. This guy must really be a moron.

Just got back, grabbed BlazBlue for PS3.

Deciding whether to go to a different one to grab Alone in the Dark, Afro Samurai, and a few other games
Looking to get Persona 4 and possibly Blaz Blue if it's the collectors. Has anyone played Saw? Is it good? Also thinking of Assassins Creed 2.
Blaz Blue collector's is not part of the Deal. It's still marked at 79.99, I'd telling them it was part of the deal. :) Oh well, picked up Alone in the Dark, Prototype, and Afro Samurai. Gonna check out another EB/Gamestop to find a Blaz Blue.

Of course we do... and we all post comments about our choices =]

Yeah that guy = fail. Born without common sense or just trying to make a quick buck on a technicallity.

Technically, the CE COULD be part of the deal (When i got BlazBlue (360) in the B1G1 sale, i got all of the CE stuff including the case for free), but then again, good look finding a sealed version. No stores within 200 miles of me have one @_@.

I got COD WAW, Sega Genesis Collection and Sacred 2 with FG10. Basically gave me a 2% discount when you factor in the 8% tax rate here in the ATL. Great deal. Too bad cursed Mountain is $17.99 as my price point for that game is 9.99. My backlog just gets bigger and bigger. LOL.

Grabbed BlazBlue, Bioshock, and Dissidia off of the website. Thanks to the person that posted those coupon codes.

I'm torn about whether to get Sacred 2 or not. I had actually bought it for close to full price back when it was new (had just finished Fable 2 and really wanted a new RPG), didn't think that it was worth nearly that much, and traded it quickly to Amazon during one of their trade-in deals while I could still get most of what I paid for it back along with whatever promo they were offering at the time (I think it was the $75 off a console coupon). $20 is closer to what I would think it might really be worth, but I'm feeling a little like that ship has sailed and I wouldn't actually play it at this point anyway.

Considering the fact that the games for this sale are supposed to be NEW(by Gamestop's loose definition of the word ), yes I DO care if it has the manual and a perfectly unscratched disc.

If you take into account the fact that some of these games were probably just gutted last night when they closed for the night, they should NOT be scratched AT ALL.
Anyone check if the Master Assassin edition of AC 2 is also on sale?
I checked, and it isn't :whistle2:(

Just got back from the sale... everything was gutted, with a massive amount of stickers all over everything.

Luckily they came right off, since I think they just applied them.

I also just now noticed they didn't put the clear stickers over any of the gutted games, so if I have any regrets or want to take one back, I'm screwed.

I ended up getting Soul Calibur, WAW, Prototype, and COD 4... only one I'm unsure of is COD 4, but I guess I'm stuck with it now. I also wanted to just blow through my credit so I can stop going there.. the service has gone downhill in a major way since they hired new staff.
Considering the fact that the games for this sale are supposed to be NEW(by Gamestop's loose definition of the word ), yes I DO care if it has the manual and a perfectly unscratched disc.

I used the word "has" the manual and is perfectly unscratched. Not the other way around. Well I can see how that could be mistaken. But yes I meant if it has the manual and is unscratched what is the difference.

So you're the guy who manages to scratch up every disc I rent. Let me guess, you also don't care enough to put a game back in it's case, right? It's really sad how people treat things. I have games I've used probably hundreds of times or more (Rock Band 2, for example), and the disc is still in absolute perfect condition. Not a scratch on it, and I play it practically every single day.

So, how could a disc possibly get scratched, unless someone just doesn't care enough to take care of it? Bingo! That's you! Thanks, you making buying used games a terrible experience, along with any / all rentals that just do not work thanks to how scratched up they become.

I think you guys are misreading my post. I meant that as long as it is UNSCRATCHED WITH THE MANUAL. Then who cares. Not that it is scratched without, lol. That's just stupid.

There I went back and edited my original post. Phew.

Wow. That analogy makes no sense whatsoever.

You know, I'm willing to (grudgingly) buy open, gutted games as "new" when the deal is good. But if the manual is missing or the disc is scratched? No way in hell. Hell, I won't even buy used games if the manual is missing or the disc is scratched, why should I buy a "new" one that way?

Sure, I don't expect my new car to have 0 miles on it. But I do expect it to be in "new" condition -- if the paint is all scratched up, I'm not buying it.

I ordered 2 BlazBlue online. I wanted the 20% off and free shipping, I'll probably return one of them in store.
Wtf are you talking about. I think you guys are misreading my post. I meant that as long as it is UNSCRATCHED WITH THE MANUAL. Then who cares. Not that it is scratched without, lol. That's just stupid. Again common sense why would someone say that =P
LOL I thought it was very clear what you meant. Some peeps haven't had their coffee yet I guess. Sorry you got hassled
The FG10 code showed the discount in the cart, but ended up being just free shipping.
FG10 just worked for me. Got 10% off each game and free ground shipping. Not sure why it didn't work for you.

Well, read what you wrote again -- "who the hell cares if it has the guide and a perfectly unscratched disc inside?" You need to go back to English class and learn to state your ideas more clearly if you want them to be understood. ;)

And yes, this actually is a sore spot for people with GameStop -- I've had several experiences now where I've gone to buy a "new" game and found that the GameStop employees had managed to scratch it up in the process of gutting it. Even worse, they couldn't understand why I didn't want to buy it like that.

Yes... "as long as it has" would have been better the better choice. SOrry about my intranets grammers =] lol

Just got back. The first gamestop was organized pretty good. They gutted ONE copy of every game they had and kept all the sealed ones in the cabinets. Picked up Saw and Sonic from there. Then I had to go to a different gamestop to get Afro Samurai. This one had them gutted, but it has a slip cover so those annoying stickers weren't on the actual case. Paid 50$ in credit and still got another 150$ for B2G1 for when ever it comes. Good day!

Seems 20XBOX and SAVER won't stack for me. It keeps changing SAVER's description into the same as 20XBOX's and then will tell me it can't be applied upon reaching the pricing method.

wow take it easy it was clear what they meant. geez. I know not my battle but come on!!

Mock if old:

Amazon has AC2 for $29.99 shipped 360/PS3.

I would get there but I have credit at GS. Good if ya got Amazon credit tho.

This seems like a really harsh unwarranted attack, even if you did read his post the other way. Was this really necessary?

Some of us are just anal retentive and like to know we were the first people, besides anyone at the factory where they were packed and shipped from, to touch the manual and disc/cart. But again, it comes down to what works for you. Sealed=works for me. Gutted=may work for others.

Turns out I had to change the order of when I entered in SAVER.

Stupid question, but is there a minimum price needed to get SAVER to work? Looking to get Fallout 3, but the code refuses to kick in and I can't get free shipping without the code unless I add on to my order.

Gutted fucking blows, I just picked up a 'new' copy of Sacred 2 PS3, I get home pull of the sticker, and what do I see staring up at me...a 360 version of the game. Now I have to go back, blah

Blazblue, W@W, Sega Collection, USB Connector (Left at friends house), 2 $20 PSN Cards for about 100 dollars. Still got 30 dollars left from the TIV 50% more thing.

Good to know. Thanks.

Ordered Prototype and CoD:W@W with 20xbox and saver. It said the code wasn't working because it expired but the discount still showed in my total so I purchased. $35 shipped for both.

Minimum $25 for SAVER or VALUE

Picked up:
Afro Samurai
COD:W@W
The Bourne Conspiracy

Only had to pay $8.74 out of pocket, the rest was credit left over from the 2 Wii Nerf games I traded in last week. Afro & COD were gutted, Bourne was still sealed.

Picked up Assassins Creed II for $24 and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger for $16...Couldn't hold off at those prices for new copies.
