Traded in multiple portals today with no issue. Now to debate trading in my gta 4 complete or not. Im tempted as it will give me enough credit for my beatz headphones. Hmmmmm

I'm not going to read through the 20 new pages in this thread since I was last here so I'll just ask: have any of these values dropped yet?

You realize that Beats headphones are only expensive because of the brand right? They are not worth the price tag whatsoever and you can find the same quality, if not better, at 10x less the price elsewhere. It's a waste of money.

I agree 100% with what you are saying here in regard to Beats. I use other brands that are cheaper and arguably better in quality, but they are all GS sells I think so theoretically if you don't want games or giftcards (I'd say they are the better value) I don't think there's anything wrong at a personal level for someone wanting to use their credit for a Nexus tablet (again, a better value I think, but it's all personal) or a pair of Beats.

Ugh. Wish i looked at the recent posts before trading my crap in. The person there made me get a pro card and said she tried it in before without one and it didnt work. fuck me. Didnt want the card as i rarely go to gamestop anymore but i guess theres nothing i can do about it now. Hopefully theres good stuff for being pro cause i dont want game informer at all.

I tried them out a while back and i reaaaaaaaaly want them ! Cant help it lol. Plus they come with lifetime protection which is nice :)

Just to re-confirm, the values will come up in the computer automatically, but you have to make sure they scan your PUR card first. I first got quoted $50.xx for the 4 games I just brought in. Talked to the friendly CS, and he was aware of the deal, as well (albeit from a forum, and not any in-store communique), and we were theorizing on how to make the deal apply. I had originally forgotten to give him my PUR information, and once we scanned that in...POOF!

Kinect Sports Ultimate-$30 (paid $15 on BF from Wal-Mart)
Naruto U.N.S. Collection-$20 (paid $8.98 on Target clearance earlier in the week)
Alice: Madness Returns PS3-$20 ($7.50 at BBV earlier in the week)
Dead Island GOTY PS3-$20 ($7.99 at BB on BF)

All in all, I got a little over $90 in store credit for about $40 worth of games I bought in the last two weeks. Also had an Alice: Madness for the 360 that I also got at BBV, but I never even looked at this disc, and it has a huge crack in the center! Gonna have to try to go by tomorrow and see if they have another. Sitting at about $175 in credit now, all of a sudden I'm thinking I might just treat myself to a Wii-U this next week. Just need to pare my collection down one more time, and maybe hit another BBV or two. ;)

I traded in games at 4 different GameStop stores today and not one of them had any clue about the promo. Two of them were really surprised by how much I got - especially when I traded in a copy of Madden 12 and got $20. I raided two local Blockbusters and got every Madden 12 Wii, Tiger Woods 12 Wii and Just Dance 3 Wii they had. All in all, I spent $76 and a $25 reward zone certificate (price matched Portal 2 at BB) to get $183 in GameStop credit. With that I can do some more flipping, or perhaps just keep an eye open and cash out if they ever start selling Amazon gift cards.

Ugh, I bought a PRO membership (I already knew that I didn't need one to qualify for this promo) but I didn't know that they only did the 10% bonus BEFORE the promo is applied. So I only got like a few bucks extra... Oh well, I'll probably make some more flips in the future to at least break even, and I don't mind reading GI even though some of it is total BS. Are there any other benefits for PRO members?

Also, my Gamestop could only take one of my copies of Portal 2... does this vary store by store? Going to go to another one to trade in my other...

There's no way for them to track what games you trade in, right?

Sadly there's no much on there I would trade in. Unless I'm completely missing it there's no Dishonored and I just finished that so would love to dump it. No Witcher 2... no several others that I was looking to dump off.

Oh they sound good, but I can tell you that there are even better brands out there that are so much cheaper.

I think the better route would be to get some Amazon gift cards and snag a better pair of headphones on there, but that's just me I guess.
So it has to be one of three things:
1) There was some miscommunication in how they were receiving their trade in values.
2) One needs to have a pro account to get the special trade in values
3) The clerk was trying to push a pro account on me when I didn't need one.
Number 3 happened to me. The clerk scanned my trade-ins before I handed him my power up rewards card and the credit card machine showed the ridiculously low values. Then I handed him my rewards card which bumped up the prices to the ones listed on the poweruprewards website. Seeing that my pro status recently expired, he then gives me the song and dance about how much money I saved this year, the b2g1 coupon etc to which I declined. Not being happy with my response he proceeded to tell me that promotional trade in prices shown on the credit machine were for pro members only. I just said "really? that's weird because that's not what it says here" and showed him the website on my phone. He got really nervous and stammered "o...oh o...o..ok, my bad". What a douche bag.

Anyways, I traded in:

Need For Speed: Most Wanted xbox 360 $30
Killzone Trilogy ps3 $25
Batman Arkham City GOTY ps3 $25

and picked up Hitman Absolution xbox 360 for $39.99 with $36 left in credit!. Thanks OP!

Yes ymmv. Depends on ur gs, my gs was cool with me trading 2x copy of portal 2 same system but thats it . People reccomend showing a reciept first to persuade them

It seems to vary, I went to two different Gamestops yesterday, the first one took two copies of the same game from me in for trade, the second Gamestop did not. Just depends on the store and who is working I suppose.

Both GS I went to just had cards for the Kindle promo..
I asked if they would get any in the future and they werent sure.

But I hope they do as well, considering I traded in some games in hopes to spend it on the cards

Your so lucky...

Yep that's how I ended up with a Pro account. They scammed me into getting it by saying the promo I was doing was only for Pro members. I had read all the fine print on the promo and didn't see anything like that, but wasn't completely sure, so I just went along it. Only $15, but I'm still salty about it.

Do you need to tear off the seal to give GameStop before flipping?

Its apparently the goty , and no the 360 version goes for 20$. . . Looked at the values on the front page

just went to my local blockbuster and got two just dance 3 and one madden 12 for the wii. they had at least 10 of each. only got a few tho cause the condition on these discs are horrible. just beacause you rent games doesnt been you can treat them like shit -__-

yes i did, and i had to go to 4 stores to do it, they would only take one of each.
Grab a free pur card. What's the problem?
Just found out it was free! I'll have to stop by the store tomorrow. Since the TIV on Madden seems to be running for another week, there doesn't seem to be much of a need for me to go there tonight.
yes i did, and i had to go to 4 stores to do it, they would only take one of each.
It's policy. This happened to me last week. I was shocked when they wouldn't take a sealed copy of Forza Horizon.

I'm fixing to go buy a few copies of Portal 2 and flip. I probably won't get stingy, and just do two on the 360, and two on the PS3. May start hording back small amounts for the next generation xbox, maybe even splurge on the wii u.

That's weird, the guy that rang me up did not know about the promo. He scanned the games and told me the total trade-in value. He then asked if I was a PUR member I said yes so he scanned my card and told me I was going to get 10% more.

The shock that crossed his face when the trade-in value doubled was pretty funny. He definitely scanned my card last and the promo still applied automatically.

I don't get the hate over the Pro account - it is pretty much a staple of being a CAG, especially if you are doing trade-ins at Gamestop.

Also - very jealous of you people with Blockbusters with 10 copies of Madden and Just Dance 3. I finally made it to one of the few stores left in the area and they had ONE Madden and no Just Dance 3 for Wii. They had about 15 Just Dance games for the 360 for sale (all different ones), but no JD3 for Wii.

Still, I'm running very low on GS credit and that makes me nervous - so will be taking my 1 copy of Madden in tonight if possible.

To those who say it will last "at least another week" just be warned, they can pull games from the list at any time.
I don't get the hate over the Pro account - it is pretty much a staple of being a CAG, especially if you are doing trade-ins at Gamestop.
I know; it's just the Edge card with a different name. As dastardly as GS with some of their practices, the PUR card really is a good deal, IMHO. If you do any kind of significant trading at all, or just like gaming magazines, it's hard to argue over $15/year. Most of you probably drop that in 2 months for a service like Netflix or Hulu Plus, in addition to your cable bill.

@tilcast-I had the same scenario; I was just re-iterating that you needed to have your PUR card scanned for the deal to apply. It is not automatic in the registers, but it is also not one of those promotions where the associate needs to scan an additional barcode.

Made a quick trip to GS and traded in KZ Trilogy and MK Komplete. I decide to keep GOW Saga and Dead Island.

I have been in line with people who are buying $120 of used games and the rep is like it will cost you $3 to get PUR pro and the guy is like nope don't need it. It boggles my mind.

Just got the last copy of JD3 in the area, also traded in an HDMI and component cable to push me to 70$. Now to use my employee discount for some epic deals
