$20 for Portal 2? $25 for Sly Cooper collection? $15 for Bully? The FIRST Assassin's Creed on PS3 is getting $15?! What year is this?!

Proof since some people doubt what I say :)cry:)
damn with TRU's BOGO sale that is pure profit with Zombie U
I'm confused. 2 copies of Zombie U would cost $90 plus tax. If you traded both in to GS, you would get $80 credit.

I apologize if this has been asked already but im not going to scroll through 40 pages to find the answer, can you trade in games maked not for resale? Example infamous collection from the ps3 black friday bundle. Thanks in advance

Was able to turn 200 dollars into 400 awesome sale. Will probably end being banned ,Nahhh power to the flippers!

this applies to far too many posts...

between this and the inevitable argument about flipping/hoarding/GS-banning, and we wonder why these threads are 40 pages long.

(and yes, i know i'm not helping, kthxbye)

K-mart has the sly collection on sale for $14.99. Scored it for $10 after $5 SYWR reward. Traded in for $25. Not too shabby!

Went on a "treasure" hunt all over my city this weekend visiting many places for this deal.

Came up with about $460 in trade in credit after 5 paid off pre-orders. With only about $140 in cash out of pocket, and $40 in BB credit.

My Gaming budget is good for two years at least.....Christmas came early! Thanks Cag

Dunno if it's ymmv. There was a blue sale sticker for $14.99. Not clearance or anything
So I get more trade in value, but have to pay retail for new games? No thanks.
I hear you man even though I have a **** ton of store credit now because of this deal, I still don't want to use it to pay MSRP for a new game. It sucks that Gamestop doesn't price match any stores either :nottalking:

Here's hoping they don't drop the trade values before the date this is scheduled to end. Can't go until tomorrow and have a couple of games I could trade in.

have about $400 in gamestop credit now. Will probably buy a few steam gift cards when ever the steam sales come around. and i guess ill start saving for a next gen console.

I hear people saying they wont be able to afford the next gen system and what not. I don't see why its so hard to save money like what you're doing. Save $10-$20 a month and by Christmas 2013 youll have plenty for it.

Gamestop has some pretty good deals every so often. Just don't let the credit burn a hole in your pocket and you'll be good

So you do not have to have the original cases to trade-in? I really don't do trade-in that often with GS, but with the given credits on some of these games (Portal 2, etc.) I might as well cash in now.

Took 4 games that I had sitting around finished that I was never going to touch again and walked out with 5200 Microsoft points and 3 months of Hulu plus. Good enough for me. No need to flip anything, basically free in my book.

Edit: No original cases needed. Didn't have a case or book for Blitz the League 2 and they happily accepted it in a generic white clear case.

I just took the cover art out of the case for the Killzone Trilogy since it is marked "not for resale" but the discs aren't. Just to avoid any hassle.
why must gamestop do this to me. Thinking about trading in dead island, forza, tales of graces, and killzone and putting it towards a headset, but forza is just so fun.
Just buy yourself a cheap $10-20 Rocketfish headset. Works good enough. I've been using the same one for like 2 years.

Problem solved.

Some gamestops have kindle cards but they are very reluctant to give em up cuz the of kindle+kindle gift card deal they are doing.

Thanks for that. One last thing. When trading in the controller do you have to include the charging cable? I just watched an unboxing video for the killzone controller bundle and it didnt include one, just the controller and the game.

How's that awful? F GS. They ripped people off with their trade-ins.

just curious, but how is everyone who is flipping games getting the money out of Gamestop. Are you guys successful getting the Amazon giftcards? because my gamestops are fighting me on buying them, saying they are only promotional.

yep I can confirm the Dualshock 3 tiv is now $22. Just traded one in today.

@ Royal High Knight - no you don't need to include a charging cable, just the controller

How is it ripping people off if thousands happily trade games in daily? Most people do not care and are happy with the easiest option when getting rid of a game. Honestly don't hate on them for creating a business off of people's lazyness.

so $18 store credit for Zelda Skyword Sword then sell it for $45. Okay man.
so $18 store credit for Zelda Skyword Sword then sell it for $45. Okay man.
It's not GS's fault that people go in there and still trade in their games at ridiculously low prices and buy it at ridiculously high prices.

They're a business like any other business. Do you expect GS to give you $30 for a copy of that game? No. Because they still have a large supply coming in.

It's all bout the Supply and Demand. It's all about economics.
so $18 store credit for Zelda Skyword Sword then sell it for $45. Okay man.
Yes, how dare a for-profit entity try and actually make a profit? After all, things like overhead costs and payroll don't exist right?

Expanding on that, I'd like one person to find me any used store that offers any more than 40% of retail value for a trade-in. I've come to find that if you use that number, it's usually in the ballpark of what you will end up getting. Of course that's fudged on older games, but regardless, if you went into business for yourself, would you want to give somebody $30 on a game that you'll turn around and sell for $40? People keep saying a $10 profit over what Gamestop will give them is barely worth it, when they pay half of what GameStop will give them in in-store credit. People grasp for anything to bitch about GameStop, and yet if GS completely closed it's door, people would bitch about having retail or Amazon to buy games. Jesus Christ there's no winning with people.

regardless of their used game trade in and sell prices, selling opened games that may or may not be missing stuff as "new" is shady as all hell. I seriously can't understand how they get away with this.
How is it ripping people off if thousands happily trade games in daily? Most people do not care and are happy with the easiest option when getting rid of a game. Honestly don't hate on them for creating a business off of people's lazyness.
agree with you. what most people dont understand who complain about these things are either 18 and younger, or have the mind of a 12 year old when it comes to business. its not only laziness(comfort), its also about creating a safe environment for everyone to trade their games in especially for children. im pretty sure parents prefer their kids trade in their games to gamestop rather than try and list shit online and craigslist.

honestly if there was no gamestop, you would not have amazon trade in, you would not have bby trade ins. without gamestop you would NOT have amazon and best buy trrying to so hard to compete in the gaming market with lower prices. come on guys go easy on the company, imagine a world without gamestop, then bby would lower the crap out of their trade values and cagers would find somethin else to bitch about.

all i know is cags can continue to say childish things like eff gamestop, all i know is gamestop corporate fat cats are laughing back at em because they know they will continue to keep coming back.
u sir are an awful person
Dad must have always been disappointed with you to carry such high standards.

Well, its not like they open every new game up, just the ones for disply.

You can argue that they should just make display boxes, but I understand the reasoning behind why they dont.
regardless of their used game trade in and sell prices, selling opened games that may or may not be missing stuff as "new" is shady as all hell. I seriously can't understand how they get away with this.
Again. It's about being a business. It is total garbage that they open a game, have an employee play it, and then sell it off as "new" but the primary reason they do this is in order to cut down on holding costs.

Having a game in a paper sleeve is a lot cheaper than keeping a game sealed on the shelves. This means they have more room to put other games up there = More profit.
