How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of a game (per system) within a rolling 30 day period.

What do I need to trade in an older console?​

the console, power cable, av cable, and controller; sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3ds xl trade would be console, charger, stylus. Some have reported being charged refurb fee for a stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)​

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO

ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.

GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.

Can someone explain to me (if possible) why the App shows Call of duty WW    trade in (elite) $21.60   regular value $25    its doing that on a few games.   saying i would get less being an elite member

 
Has anyone tried the extra $25 console trade coupon today to see if it still works?  Mine has two expiration dates on it one is 3/30 and the other is 3/31

The app has a bug. Clear out your saved trades and reenter to see the correct. No need to lament about how you wished this worked the way you thought it should, we all do, and this comes up on a weekly basis.
 
Ugh, I have an irrational hatred of paying for shipping. I wanted to get a game on sale, but took me forever to find another game just to pass the $35 free shipping threshold. There's nothing I particularly want right now beyond the first game.

Just buy whatever then return it next time you're at GS.
 
Forgive if been answered, out and about and can't scan back in the forum, but does the 80 console bonus stack on what the website says? Ps4 pro gets 240 plus 80?

Nope. What it says is what you get. $240 Any bonus is reflected already in the listed price. The only system that had a $80 jump was the xbox 1 s 2TB which was 130 and jumped to $210

Nah, it's not about GameStop but about the people who actually need legitimate returns. I don't think anyone here feels for the corporation.

I usually do this and buy two copies of the game to avoid gutted if new. Right now I’m holding a DS3 fire fades and a monopoly switch from doing this. If a stealth bump happens before the 30 days, then I’ll trade instead of return.
 
My GS account shows 5K points deducted for “Auto Issued Reward Certificate” with today’s date. Does anyone know what that is?

I don't know if anyone else put this up already, but when I googled Gamestop trade earlier to check values it had a link for Trade Week. It says it's under the events. It has no start or end date at least for me. It has 50% extra credit for 3 or more game trades at elite. It also had an extra 25% credit for any system trade ins.

They give you a reward certificate automatically after you get 5,000 points. You can change the option at GS website.

What happens if you return a game you used a PUR coupon on?   Do you get the points back?

I saw a rare copy of Dirt Rally today and used a $15 off on it.  Got home and realized I had already bought it digitally in a flash sale.  smh

not automatically, you have to call customer service to get the points back, i would laugh at you, but probably 1/3 of the games i bought from the 4 for $20 i own digitally and had no idea.

 
Weird one of my $5 reward certificates was supposed to expire on 3/30 but it was extended to 4/29. Did GS do this to give me more time to use it?

b2g1 coupon from PUR renewal works on multiple sets, correct?  for example, i can buy 2 controllers and get 1 free, plus buy 2 games and get 1 free, right?

Yeah, lately a bunch of games just won't show when I search the trade values for them. I ended up calling a random store in my state & had them check. They had no problems looking them up for me.
