The source? My Dad. LOL

EDIT: Just found out where he got the code from, it's from http://www.retailmenot.com/view/gameznflix.com

If you don't know, Gameznflix (http://www.gameznflix.com/default.aspx?kbid=1447) is a site like Netflix and Gamefly, just together. You can rent movies and games. The only thing is their selection is limited and they DON'T have any DS games.. GRRR!!

But, when you click on sign up, go to I HAVE A COUPON and type in emmys.

Now look at the prices!

1 Out at a Time / $6.75 each month
2 Out at a Time / $9.75 each month
3 Out at a Time / $12.75 each month

3 out a time for $12.75 a month?! Holla!

I may do two at a time.. I haven't signed up YET I'm just sharing this info for anything.

I don't know if it's going to be YOUR price..as in if you stay with this company for a year.. will it STILL be $12.75? (or whatever you choose)

And a personal question. I live at home. If my dad uses this for him/mom/brother..can I have my own account..? We have the same name too LOL (with the exception of Jr in it)

I don't post deals often, but I hope this is useful to at LEAST someone!

Enjoy!

EDITED to change link to CAG referral link.

Also, here's the FAQ since alot of people seem to have questions

Here is a list of the distribution centers, since this too gets asked alot in this thread!

Boston, MA
Washington DC
Orlando, FL
Franklin, KY (near Nashville, TN)
Dallas, TX
Sterling, CO (near Denver, CO)
Sacramento, CA
Seattle, WA
Los Angeles, CA

I noticed on the Gamez N Flix homepage, their advertising a free 30 days of service for referals of new members by current members. I was thinking maybe we could help each other out and start refering other CAG's who are interested in trying a month. We could give each referal $5 for the extra month. If your going to try the service you could help a fellow CAG member and make $5 at the same time and knock your first month down to $7-8 so you can try the service for as little $$ as possible.

>_< Damn. $13 for 3 games at a time sounds tempting but if the service sucks...how about gamefly? I was looking into one of those coupons that a CAG mentioned earlier in the topic. $5 coupon on ebay for 2 months of gamefly (i think it's 1 out at a time).

Hmmmmmm......So I read the last couple of pages. I don't want to read 50 plus pages on CAGs thoughts. Please someone that has experience with gamezandflix.com let me know how god or bad they are. $12.75 for 3 at once is an awesome deal. Thanks.
so is it generally agreed that the service drops off after the 1st month?
Yes, the service sucks now. It's been like 2 weeks and nothing has shipped.

It's like everyone says:

The first month is great, then the second month rolls around and usually the service falls to shit, with nothing shipping unless you have some really old games in your Queue, if then.

Like I said in my last post, 4 out the 5 last games I've received in the past 2 weeks have been scratched or broken beyond playability. I had to complain my ass off just to get a free month added which I'll be cancelling afterward. Plus, new releases like Shadowrun, Call of Jaurez, Tenchu Z, & etc are still not available for rental & their still showing as "on order".

Oh, and it's tuesday and my 3rd, 3 out slot has been open for rental for about 9 days now, with old games even in my selection. but as far as shipping the games arrive in 2-3 days, and they show up as returned within 1-2 days.

I don't understand how my service continues to be excellent while the service for so many is so poor. I'm very happy with them, it's weird but i'm not complaining. Right now I have Forza and Virtua Tennis 3 here, look at the rest of my history before those two:

I'd consider myself lucky.

But for some, like myself, it isn't the shipping time or turaround time, but it's either broken, scratched/unplayable discs, or the fact "top" available games or no games ship out of your Queue leaving the 2nd & 3rd slots in your Queue open for days/weeks.

Here is my history, check out how many game recently for me were found to be broken. And if you read alot of GNF game reviews, notice how many reviews state "disc broken" with a few stating 2-3 discs in a row were broken like my situation.

update, June 20th

I received my 5th broken disc (due to severe scratches) out of 7 shipped games in the past 3 weeks. I have sent 4 customer service emails, and I received a free month, but that doesn't matter if the game do not work!

See I don't have that problem either, maybe it's a lucky streak (knocks on wood). I never have a spot in my queue open (I have the 2 at a time deal). As soon as I ship a game back, they will receive and send something else out within a day or two on weekdays. I've also only received one game that didn't play and that was Scarface for the Xbox. I'm putting Virtua Tennis in the mail today, i'll see what gets sent next and when.

I'm in the same boat, been with the service since Jan and have had great service. Although, I might add it helps that I'm not trying to pull in the latest releases and I'm fairly infrequent w/ my returns (3 at a time plan)

yeah, that's kind of, well really alot of the problem. When you have been a member for 2-4 months it's hard to find a new title when everything is "on order". Then you have to resort to playing the older games, and in my case with Rainbow Six, Dead Rising, Far Cry, Crackdown, & etc have been so badly scratched their unplayable.

I would try this if there's a free trial offer. No way I'd pay to try with all of these bad reviews.

I've noticed that Gamefly has gotten worse. More than likely, it's the postal service that's gotten worse. I had Gamefly several years ago and would have a max turnaround time of 2 days each way. Now it takes 3-4 days each way, so about a week to get a new game. I live about 5 hours from the LA distribution center, so this is rather absurd. I called the postal service, as was recommended by Gamefly, and when I asked to file a complaint, the first representative hung up on me. The second said that I can't file a complaint unless it takes more than 14 days. Bullshit. The US postal service is so inefficient and full of the most apathetic people I've ever seen.

I'm guessing it wouldn't be any better with this service, since their distro center is also in LA.

It seems they are taking an extra day in showing when I have returned an item. oh well no biggy. Tyle Perry's Daddy's Little Girls dvd shipped today. Hopefulyl something else sips tomorrow and gee, I can ask for a replacement for tales of the abyss since it never came >_< This waiting game sucks ass for that crap.

On the whole broken thing. I beleive I've received 2 broken items since the end of Jan. Also, here's my recently shipped list. Only since may 18th sicne I had canceled and rejoined.... Oh and I had instantly ran into a problem so they had given me 15 extra days and VIP access...

well, im officially cancelling once it shows that God of War II is returned. I haven't gotten a Wii game shipped to me in a month, hence nothing has shipped to me. I have every single one in my qeue also. This is ridiculous.

yep..i canceled too..the waiting and the whole thing about the queue being pretty much useless was too much of a hassle.

I'm canceling...not because of crappy service though.

I got 19 games rented (11 Wii) and 10 movies for a grand total of... $22.50

I got one month and one week for free by complaining about a couple of broken disks that I received.

78 cents per game/movie is a pretty sweet deal. Granted I am an obsessive gamer and typically beat 2 games a week, so those of you one a monthers probably won't make out so well.

I'm canceling because I ran out of games! Once I get a 360 I might sign up again though. Now to move on to the stack of games that I actually purchased........

As soon as Gamefly opened their new distribution center in Philly, PA, I canceled Gameznflix. Gamefly screwed me once, back when GRAW 1 came out, but GNF screwed me with every new release. I'll never go back to them.

I thought that it might be worth mentioning for anyone who hasn't tried the service but might want to, in the sign up screen you have the option of a 14 day trial, which after the 14 days GNF will bill you the regular fee afterward, but you can add the "emmys" code during this sign up process. Basically you get 14 trial days + a month of service at $12.75. I would really count it as 10 extra days, and 4 days to to return the items before you cancel

WOW!!! So I haven't gone on this thread in awhile, and I must admit I am a little stunned by all of the negative feelings towards GNF. I have not had any problems with the service so far since I began my service in December. I have not received any broken or unusable disks. The only complaint is sometimes the queue gets messed up or they don't sent the right thing right away. But then again, I don't care seeing as I am still getting something I wanted and I just get done with it quicker.

It was even funny, because I had cancelled the credit card I was using to pay for it and forgot to update it with another one and they still sent me my games, even after I missed a payment.

Also, what are most people's turn around? I have never had more than 3 days. For instance I sent back Call of Duty 3 on Thursday by dropping it off in a mailbox at around 9 PM, and by Friday evening they had sent it. I already had it Saturday afternoon.

I live about 40 minutes from a DC, so they get the items I send back the day I drop them off at the PO (usually around 3PM). GnF usually takes about one day to grab something from my queue to send to me. Funny thing is though, it takes usually 2-3 days for me to get the game/movie once they say it was shipped, when it only takes one day for them to get what I send back :whistle2:\

I get my share of rentals though for the price, so no complaints.

I don't believe they actually ship on the days they say they do. Supposedly, I had two games sent out on Tuesday. Saturday rolls in and they're still not here. Extremely odd, seeing as a 2-3day turn-around is pretty standard to Los Angeles.

Aside from taking a little too long to ship/get games, the only issue I've had with GNF was 6 weeks ago when they supposedly mailed me Crackdown -- 10 days later it still wasn't here. I asked how long it usually takes to ship to Los Angeles and they immediately sent a "replacement". Only question is ... was it really lost in the mail or did they just forget to mail it?

My main complaints with GNF are three-fold: (1) so many games are "On Order" -- games that have been out for months(!), and (2) a LOT of new / upcoming games are games simply aren't listed at all, and (3) I don't believe their inventory system accurately reflects their inventory. I've had certain games at the top of my queue for weeks, showing maximum availability, yet I still manage to receive only lower-listed items. [NOTE: I'll test removing the lower items from my list and see what happens -- probably won't get anything!]

Also, the site's menu system leaves much to be desired. On the main page of each system, Coming Soon lists certain games, then you click on Coming Soon to see what else is coming and there are even fewer games than on the main page -- sometimes the games on the main page aren't even listed. And some games on the site can only be found if you search for them by title (they are nowhere to be found by browsing).

So ... it's a mash-up, to be sure. The price is ridiculously good, which explains the crappy service (probably 1 or 2 people running this gig!) ... verdict is still out for me on whether to stick around longer (about 3 months now), but there are so few options for game rentals around here (you'd think LA would be a great place -- it's not) and online doesn't seem much better ... sure hope someone fills the gap someday. May have to try Gamefly at some point, even though their price of entry is pretty steep.

Anyone ever try http://www.gotaplay.com/
?

I have all the Wii games listed, but would never get any shipped. I would always get the PS2, XBOX or Cube games shipped, so I took them off. Haven't gotten a single thing since then.

If you take the lower items off, you more than likely aren't going to get anything shipped.

By the way, can someone direct me to a contact via email button? I can't seem to find anything on the site.

I just signed up for gotaplay so Ill post how it goes once it starts up.

I've been with them for three months now and just had a support ticket in regarding my queue not being updated and them not shipping new games. They simply will not send me a copy of Forza 2 (why even have that availability graph?) or any of my other top games. The only two things they've sent me recently are King Kong and Chromehounds, two old titles.

There's no doubt you get preferential treatment for your first two months, then service drops off to nothing. You new signees are getting all the newer stuff.

I was reading the site's FAQ's and it says "on order" games can take up to 30 days for GNF themselves to receive them from their distributor.

Use the "ask help" link, then type in a search word, then at the right bottom of the next page click "submit issue". Then you can email customer support.

If I cancel, if I were to renew/reactivate my account again in say six months, would I still have my current pricing (with the emmys code)?

From all the complaints on this website, I wouldn't touch it with a fifteen foot anti-sucky website stick. And that's saying something.

Now, if they hadn't removed DS and PSP games, I bet even I could throw happiness on a limb.

How can you tell if they have games in stock w/o becoming a member first?

I'm trying to see if they have some games I would like to rent in stock before I sign up, but I don't see anywhere in the game's profile that indicated it's availability (i.e. Condemned or God of War II).
If I cancel, if I were to renew/reactivate my account again in say six months, would I still have my current pricing (with the emmys code)?
I had the service for 2 months, cancelled, and re-subscribed 2 months later and it was still $12.75 with the 2 out at $9.75 option available.

Thanks...I think I'm going to cancel. What with recent mega DVD sales, and reasonable prices on both new and used games, I really am not maximizing my rentals, even apart from the fact they're not sending me crap recently. I'm using the 2 for 9.75 plan, and even though that's just slightly more than one lunch out a month, it's being virtually wasted.

yeah, I plan to cancel after my free month is up. When I re-subscribed it was great service for the first month like last time. I've ran out of 360 games to play, I'll probably start adding movies to my Queue just to finish my time.

I'm thinking of joining either Gameznflix or Gamefly to cure my summer boredom. In terms of new releases(Darkness, Dirt, Tenchu, Call of Juarez etc), which one should I go for?

It really doesn't matter if it says they are in stock. I have a complete list of Wii games and it says all are in stock except for 2 or 3 and I still don't get anything shipped.

I did get God of War II shipped, so you might have success with that one. Condemned is older so you might get that one also.

In terms of newer stuff -- from personal experience, I can't recommend Gameznflix. They are painfully slow when it comes to stocking new titles.

Can't say anything for Gamefly one way or the other, so good luck if you go that route.

I joined Gotta play over the weekend and they shipped Scarface for the Wii and Medal of Honor Vanguard for the Wii.

I was just about to cancel Gameznflix and then they ended up sending Elebits. I'll play that and then cancel and hope that gottaplay.com keeps it's service to a higher standard.

Really, I've had very few problems with Gameznflix. Yes, they're a little slow stocking new games (gamez?) and their HD-DVD library is almost nonexistent, but they're amazingly fast with turnaround time. I sent Crackdown back yesterday morning, and this morning I see that Virtua Tennis 3 has already shipped out.

Agree with Decker. If you're looking to play new games that have just come out, don't go with Gameznflix. You won't get them and more than likely they'll still be "On Order" status. Looking at my list: Overlord, TMNT, Wartech, Shadowrun, and The Darkness are all "On Order" (TMNT was released March 2007)

If you are looking to play some older games, or if you're an Gamerscore whore like me, then you really can't beat gameznflix. $12.75 is dirt cheap for 3 out, and the turnaround time is pretty fast.

If you want NEW games do not sign up for this service. The have not added any new XBOX 360 releases since mid-May (except for Forza 2 and Monster Madness) and the have been slow to add Wii new releases during the same time. Unless things change dramatically in the next few weeks, I'm out when my latest month is up. I have been a member for a year and a half and they have never been this bad about adding new games. What is interesting is that I read an article stating that GameznFlix received an unsolicited purchase offer around the time they stopped buying new games. Could they be cutting down on new purchases due to a pending sale? Regardless I would wait and see if the service improves again, Gamefly and Gamerang are more expensive, but at least they have the newer games.

Just wondering, I signed up last night, added about 25 movies and games, checked it just now, and none shipped (even older movies and games). How long does it take for them to finally ship a title, or does it suck like this all the time?

Reviews are pretty accurate on this.

If you want brand new stuff, don't go with GNF. If you want a cheap price on renting classic PS2 RPGs, and quality Xbox and 360 titles that came out a while ago...go with GNF.

I noticed that they recently added a phone support system. A step in the right direction!!
