What the hell should a bass player do underneath an Am - Am7 deal that just bounces back and forth through the verse and bridge? I mean obviously the root note, but I'm thinking a little walk of A - C - G on the m7 to keep things moving, as well as sound like I know more than one note...

Gah! Audition on Saturday and I have to figure out a walkimg bass line for a G Bb F C pattern... I know it's just a standard box format but I seem to get myself tripped up in there for some reason.

What should he be doing? I think you should start by revaluating your philosophy of a bassist.

As a drummer, I'd say play it through and see what sounds right. There is no right or wrong when it comes to music, only what feels right.
