GGT #52 welcomes the glorious return of Clay Fighter on DSiware
Let me reintroduce you two: Rider, meet horse. Horse, meet rider.
I don't get it. But that's probably what makes it funny, ain't it?

I'm sad because that PS3 I was farther in Demon's Souls (as if that game wasn't already frustrating enough, it's saves are protected), albeit not too too much. I do my "main" PS3 gaming on the OG 60GB, but I use the Slim a lot when my wife takes over the main TV. I backed up what I could and prepped it for shipment already. Just waiting for the coffin.

fuck protected save files, second worst "feature" ever, the first worst being region locks.

3 levels left in Shattered Dimensions. That's one game that could have benfited a ton from a couple extra months polish.

Anyone planning on picking up the 'improved' :360: pad?
Hmmm... Dead Space is a LOT better than I expected. So far, at least.
Yeah, it was one of my favorite games from 2008.

If you backed up your stuff using the "backup" feature and then restore it when it returns, your saves, even copy protected, should be saved.

Great session today, beefalator!

I got Vanquish... and I enjoying the game, although I wasn't very impressed by the demo. I'll tell you guys one thing... Vanquish is a better game than SWTFU II.. I found that out a little later in the game (just after the demo part) I shot this big as robot in the face with a sniper rifle... it didn't kill it.. but what was nice... was that a piece of the robots face broke off exposing a robotic (gold) skeleton. Its small details like that, is what makes the difference between games that are worth 30 or 60 dollars. Vanquish isn't perfect, but I'll take this game over SW TFU II any day.

Vanquish is insanely awesome. But I need to pay less than $30 for it, because for me, $30-$40 is about the most I'll spend on a new game.

I wish that Vanquish was on PC :(

but anyway, I'll get the game eventually... maybe around Thanksgiving break. I wanna play through it f'sho f'sho, but I'm kinda busy right now. And by that, I mean real busy, not Rolento busy.

I got it for $15 this week at Kmart.

I bought NBA 2k11 for 60, then I got a 20 dollar gift car, and got Vanquis for 14.99 (plus tax) so all in all, about 75 dollars for 2 games, brings me back to about 35 dollars each. I'm going to try my best to try make an effort to buy games at that range.

Nope, save protected files can only be backed up for the exact same PS3. Since he's getting a new one, they won't work anymore.

60fps Vanquish... a man can dream.

If he's sending it in, he's not necessarily getting a new one.

Isn't he sending in a 60GB and getting a Slim back?

Good session frost. I was cursing under my breath when you had the sports helmet on and I had to chase after you. When you drank the Speedster drink, I let out a "fuck you!" then started laughing as you kept saying "C'MON."

I was laughing my ass off. I felt like the roadrunner. ^_^
I still can't believe to luck of getting the diner guy, Janus, stumbling on the 3 poker people (where you saved my bacon), and the 3 hookers/escorts. Thought I'd need another playthrough to attempt that one.

I think he's got a slim and a 60gb... I would assume he'd get the same system back, unless he's doing the "upgrade" shit.

I did, but I'm not sure it saved correctly. The thing shuts off randomly after some amount of time.

I have a Slim and a 60GB--the Slim is the one I have to send in.

well, even if you get the save data itself on to a USB drive, so long as they send you the same slim back, you should be okay to restore it.

has your 60gb ever needed service?

I'm afraid to answer that question, but no. (knocks on wood).

Had my 60 gig for 3 years and 4 months now. Only issues I ever had was a few handshaking issues and it might have froze 10 times at most. I've always had good luck with Sony products.

Same here, no 60GB troubles, bought in mid-late December! *high-fives*

EDIT: Less than a month after launch to be specific.

Agreed on 360.
I'm on my 3rd.
The other 2 had hit e74 errors within 14 months of purchase (both). :|
Worried for my 3rd... but I've all but given up the platform save for exclusives.

The only system I've had crap out on me was my Gamecube that stopped reading discs after about two years, though the Wii was out by that time to replace it despite Nintendo's constant attempts to kill the Freeloader.

You won't believe how many 360's I've had die on me. I've had 6 to die on me. I'm on my 7th console. All the models that died was 2006-2007. When one of my 360's died I never ran out and bought another one. I always put up with whatever MS sent back. I'm sure you remember last year when Walmart was giving away a $100.00 gift card with the purchase of a core system. I didn't pass that one up. I've had it right at a year. To be honest the only reason I'm keeping it is for Gears Of War 3 and I have so many xbla games to get rid of it.

Oh, we're on 360s now? I'm on my 3rd, only system I have EVER had break on me in my entire life. I had a v1 PS2 too, surprised that didn't give me DRE problems.

I've never had a broken 360. Not that I've had one for as long as you people. Pretty sure my first one was on it's way though before I sold it.

I think I'm on my 4th 360 currently (all RROD). If this one dies I'll probably just buy one of the new models. The only other system I've had to get replaced was my launch PSP, which died one week before my warranty expired.

I have the 80GB MGS4 Playstation and it has been running fine for almost 2 years now. But I have had my PS2 for almost 10 years and haven't had any problems with it, and I've clocked a lot of hours on it haha. As far as other consoles I've had one launch 360 that died a couple months ago so I had to get another. And I had my Dreamcast die around a year after I got it (which was a little after when the Dreamcast came out).

I've made more progress in Shadow Hearts Covenant, and I like the game. But, I still think that random battles tend to have too many enemies which causes them to take too long. Also thus far I like the original Shadow Hearts a bit more story wise just because the first half of that game was just one bizarre and creepy encounter after another, whereas there hasn't been any location with that same feeling yet in SH2 but maybe it will come up later in the game, and I feel like the horror elements of SH1 is really what made the first game stand out so much for me and why I really enjoyed it.
