Ghost Trick DS $14.49 new Amazon

It's a shame we won't get a sequel to this fantastic game, based on it's poor sales. Not that it didn't tie up any loose ends or anything.

Anyway, highly recommended game if you like puzzle-esque gameplay, good story and memorable characters.

I've heard that this game's story takes some rather interesting twists and turns. I'll have to pick it up. Thanks, OP.

I hated this game and thought the fact there was no sequal added to the value of Nintendo gaming as a whole

Really loved this game and I'm pretty sure there will be a sequel. It put up similar sales numbers to Etrian Odyssey and there are 3 of those...

I'm glad DS is getting more and more good adult type games the last year or so.

My wife looked at me funny when I asked my daughter if I could use her DS. she is a huge fan of Saw movies and loved 999 after u started playing it.

I'm tempted by this, but I have BAC I have to finish with BF3 sealed and 30 more levels to get my wings in gears. Along with CoD and Skyrim...

Man I don't think there has been another time I can remember that there has been so many great games coming out this close together.

A little abrasive, but yes this game isn't very good. It's 100% trial and error, and the story goes so far off the rails into the realm of sci-fi nonsense it's not even funny. I gave up caring very close to the end.

Not recommended, unless you enjoy repeating scenes over and over and over till you do exactly what the game wants you to do.

I liked this game alot, and it's short enough that it didn't feel like a chore. I didn't have to repeat too many scenes more than 2 or 3 times to get it right, and I only consulted a guide book once (HINT: "between the floors"). If anything, the puzzles were a little obvious, but still fun and an interesting story. Granted, it's ultra-fiction, but so is Prof. Layton, and people still find those fun... and I think this story is much more interesting, even though it's an utterly impossible premise.

I think this game is fantastic. Great characters and story, excellent animation, and really fun puzzle gameplay. If you hate trial and error or quirky games, maybe it's not for you. But for everyone else, this is a steal at this price. Buy it!

You play as a GHOST and you're pissed that the game wasn't realistic enough for you? Don't be so thick.

Great game. Recommended at just about any price.

I liked and enjoyed this game, but I do have to agree:

It can be a slog involving trial and error. I was stuck on one 'scene' for over half the total time I spent playing the game.

It produced the special kind of frustration that almost made me give up: knowing /exactly/ what to do, but fighting limited camera view; this one scene would have been easier if I could have zoomed out and watched the entire area all at once.

It's a hit or miss game. You will either love it, or hate it.

Newbie's gonna troll ya know.

Anyway this was a totally awesome game that kept me on edge. Sure it's a puzzle game, but the atmosphere and music always made me want to finish this game quickly and experience it all over again. It's easily worth twice the Amazon price, if not thrice.

*Game premise is you are a ghost*
*complain about story being sci-fi*

Also there's very little trial and error if you can actually understand what the goal of any particular scene is.

Excellent game and I don't understand the trial and error comments. The only not particularly clear parts I remember were working the chandelier so that the girl could get to the phone or getting to the phone when you're trying to avert the deaths in the restaurant. There were a couple of other $$$$ling things but all in all a fantastic, clever, expertly written game. Best adventure game on the DS by miles and with a great story.

EDIT: Okay, the suits of armor puzzle? Yeah that's definitely a guess and check thing but the entire puzzle and scenario around it was so awesome that I cannot believe you weren't at least a little white-knuckled, teeth grit, adrenalin pumping at the task set before you.

Clever! Of course when there's sci-fi, there's no need to follow the rules to enable a suspension of disbelief. And yet you call me thick. Sweet.

I'm curious to know what part exactly threw you off. Generally when I'm playing a game that lets you play as a ghost who can talk with animals and travel through phones by the creator of a previous title that had you psychically detecting magical lie-locks I have my suspension of disbelief set pretty low.

That said I didn't exactly like the time travel aspect at the end (it's something of a writer's convenience in my opinion)

I didn't find the game to be TOO bad with trial and error, but it's pretty linear. If you liked the Ace Attorney games I'd imagine this is right up your alley, but if you're looking for more variation/gameplay and less text it probably won't do much for you.

The bit at the end was a wonderfully constructed and foreshadowed finale and wasn't really anything different than what you had been doing all night. My only regret was that it was too easy to work through so the tension was less than what it could have been.

To be honest, I thought the game crafted the universe's rules quite well.
