I think that the US thinks deep down that the communist government in China is destined to fail so we just keep borrowing money from China and we'll never have to pay it back!
The corruption in politics in China is so widespread that it's like they have hundreds of mini-madoff's running around stealing money lol (they steal mostly public funds, not investors, which is a lot worse)
I think China is due for major political changes this century, most of the middle aged people there were grown into one ideology and have learned to live with it but the younger generations are well educated and thinking for themselves
