Thanks OP, it's a good list. Hopefully you'll continue to update it as the times go by.

Right now I'm unsure whether i'm picking up 2 copies for my gaming business or not. It all depends on whether they offer LAN play without having to go thru PSN as the gaming events and conventions we do in AZ don't have internet access.

I would have already preordered two copies of the game and bought two G27 steering wheels when they were on sale for 209.99 each if they had confirmed LAN play.
There's no way in hell I want to run both G27s on split screen or have them on separate screens without connectivity.

I'm just forced to wait to see what they do.

aww gs collector's edition preorder dead? i wanted the 2 bonus cars. i'm pretty sure if i go to a gs b&m store that they will let me preorder it. haha
 
Anyone else notice GT5 in the Sunday ads today? Target and Sears still said the release was coming 11/2. Best Buy at least changed it to some vague "coming out someday" in their Sony 3D bundle that I think was supposed to coincide with the launch. Target even still has Nov. 2 on their website, and it indicates it would have been part of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal, but you'd have to find it in-store.
 
Man why don't stores give you anything for the collector's edition? I never buy the CE and I finally decide to buy one for GT5, yet you get nothing special from stores when they give you stuff for the cheaper version.

I'm not 100% on this, but I did notice on the upcoming Tester Season 2 on the Playstation Network that it looked like they had four stations set up with steering wheels and they were playing Gran Turismo 5. It premieres on November 2nd I believe, so maybe we'll know more then.

You do realize those ad are printed anywhere from 3-6 weeks in advance, right? Sony screwed the pooch on this, not the advertisers. Maybe if Sony would have given them more notice they could have changed it. I'm guessing BB got lucky and Sony's announcement was just before their print deadline.

Due to the delay, I'm not sure where I'm picking this up at. Would've been KMart, but not sure at the moment....will make up my mind when it gets closer to a real release date.....maybe before Duke Nukem.
 
GameStop collector's edition isn't dead per se.

I ordered from Barnes & Noble :)

Wal-Mart offered a bonus car as did Best buy.

Not sure where you heard that but No. It was suppose to come out in March 2010 for Japan, then worldwide on Nov 2nd 2010.

Its funny how Sony promised us a discount or a bonus on the final version when you bought Prologue all those years ago. They pretty much forgot about their promise like they forgot about giving us access to our old games on the PSP Go.

Earlier in the year one of the guys from GTPlanet went to a GT5 event and he said they had 5 systems. One was on PSN in spectator mode and the other 4 were able to see and join each other on the router/switch because that one was online.
We'll see what happens, but I want to confirm it has the System Link before I buy hundreds of dollars of shit.

It's not like the Bonus car shows up as an item in the cart.
You'll be getting Best Buy's bonus car whether you buy the standard or collector's edition.

I got schick razors today and did the code, you ONLY GET ONE DOWNLOAD ! not all of them like it sounds like. :( I got the dynamic theme, its a bit weak, just still pictures of 4 cars with moving smoke effect around it..... really dynamic...

it has been pointed out that heavy rain went into production at the end of january but was still released during february.

On the page, for the GT5 Collectors Edition, for Barnes and Noble, I don't see anywhere regarding the McLaren F1 Stealth Model and the GameStop NASCAR Car with Gran Turismo design cars, yet I do see this for the standard version.

If I preorder the GT5 Collectors Edition, from Barnes and Noble, will I get the two bonus preorder cars, or no?

I contacted Gamestop Customer Service, they said, if you order Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition via Barnes and Noble, you will not receive the two bonus pre-order cars with the Collector's Edition.

It's weird that the standard edition does include them, but not the Collector's Edition.
 
Anyone knows if Amazon still have the stealth bonus for CE? it only shows in the standard page for the bonus.....

Also, I am thinking to order a CE from Walmart, so I can get the NSX. Then order a standard edition through play.com, which they offer AMG and GTR for their stealth car.

But the question is, will the code from play.com works on the game I order from Walmart? Since play.com is a Euro site, so I assume their GT5 will be European verison, will the stealth car code from them works on the US version I order from Walmart?
 
Hope some kind of K-mart deal goes up. I still have a 5 bucks of promo credit to use and can never seem to find anything to buy there.
 
I went to TRU today for their $20 gift card deal with purchase of Gran Turismo 5 to pick up as a Christmas present not knowing that it had been pushed back. =( I hope someone comes up with a $20 deal when it does get released.
 
hopefully, kmart sticks to their $25 credit and toys r us matches them when a release date is announced. amazon is a problem, though. I've seen them match $20 credit but never $25. Even $20 would be great though b/c you get the pre-order car.

btw, i went to best buy this weekend and they indeed have some kind of slip w/ the pre-order car code inside their empty pre-order boxes. didn't see any marked for collector's edtion though. the boxes were shrinkwrapped so I had to shake them to hear it lol. I guess that's a good thing b/c i might be tempted to steal one if they weren't lol.

To PublikDefender, please be careful about posting videos about Gran Turismo 5, even though they are hosted elsewhere. gtplanet website posted an intro video about Gran Turismo 5, but sony asked them to take it down.

Still no offical release date. Some sites were reporting a release date but it was tracked down to a scam twitter account not affiliated w/ the real uk ign.

I think the above needs to be edited, because you will not get a preorder bonus (this is regarding the collectors edition of GT5 if ordered from Barnes and Noble). Please see my above posts.
