GS/EB Coupon/Used Deal of the Week FAQs - thanks oscargrouch
  • Coupon is valid in store (B&M Locations) only, it does not work online.
  • Just print the coupon, not the whole ad.
  • Coupon can be printed from this thread by right clicking on the image, selecting view image, then pressing print.
  • Coupon DOES NOT stack with any other offer, except EDGE cards.
  • Coupon will be valid on the start date of the weekly ad, not earlier. (YMMV on if the employees will do manual override, not recommended.)
  • The EDGE card takes 10% from the original price of the Used Deal of the Week, not the promotional price.
  • Used Deal of the Week is considered a promotion so it will ONLY stack with the EDGE Card, nothing else.

Look through the old coupon list. Other than GameCube or GBA it has literally been since August of last year for a PS2 percent off coupon. Am I missing something in that list? That is a LONG time. Holy s--t, time must go fast. I knew it had been a long time but I didn't realize it was that long.

Even then it was actually July when there were good ones right in a row. That means not trade-in or having to buy certain games.

I've been waiting for a B2G1 sale to get some games for my new PSP, so I've been holding off on buying PSP games. I only have NBA 09, Rockband Unplugged and Crisis Core. I think I'll be adding Size Matters to my meager list of games. :)

Hmm, another week I shall not be visiting. How nice of them to entice me to buy a full price game with a used one when I'm sure within a week or two I'll find a better deal on Heavy Rain without needing to buy a random used title as well.

GS has really been slacking off. August you say? That sounds about right. Well they did have an in store B2G1 near Xmas but the shelves had nothing I needed after I did some shopping at TrU and Amazon. I wonder when my Edge card expries... Maybe I won't renew this year.

this is just ridiculous.....as usual thx jp but i'll pass.....however i do plan on getting heavy rain so maybe i'll use coupon

Thanks for posting this early. Will bite on Phantom Hourglass at that price. Have been putting off getting it for quite a while.

Size Matters is THE WORST Ratchet and Clank game (on PSP, PS2 or anything in-between). Avoid at all costs. I've played ever release from the series, and that one just plain tanked....small wonder it's down to sub $5.

Gotta love these garbage promos. Heavy Rain will cost you $63.XX @ Gamestop and $54.96 @ Amazon.com. That's roughly 15% off Gamestop's price right there.

...or you could buy Heavy Rain at full price and then turn around and pay 25% off an overpriced used game @ Gamestop when you could most likely find it cheaper (even with the discount) on eBay, craigslist, or somewhere else on the 'net.

Bad deal is bad.

Just sayin'. :)

Not if you are paying with credit off of clearance flips like I am. I paid maybe $30 for those games and cashed in on quite few of their trade in promos as of late. Plus no tax if you pay with credit for me. :)

I paid off almost all my pre-orders. And now getting 35% off (stacking with edge card) off of a used game is fine by me. :D

But you are right if you are straight up buying it from GS that it is not a good deal.

+1

I think I like those used deals of the week prices w/ Edge:
$3.99 Ratchet & Clank Size Matters
$12.49 The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

May get 'em if my little brother wants 'em—most likely getting Phantom Hourglass.

Its just an added bonus if you have credit.

Awesome Bale pic and gif man. That shit is funny as all hell.

Just curious, is the coupon an actual e-coupon or a scan of a store flyer coupon? The guys at my local store are pretty straight-laced, so I'm sure I would get all sorts of attitude with a printed scan.

basically sucks again, means more money in my pocket, but if you do have a psp grab RNC, and if you have a buddy grab 2 for that price the MP is a blast.

Actually, with Edge, Phantom Hourglass is $13.49 and Ratchet is $4.49.

Wrong. Edge takes off the normal price. Since this is a promo for a price reduction, it still makes the deduction off the normal price of the game.

well I am picking it up on Tuesday so I guess I might as well bring in the coupon for when I pick up Heavy rain to get the 25% off

If the guys are your GS don't accept a printed coupon, I would ask to speak with a manager or go to another GS. These coupons are only sent through e-mail, so I don't know what else you could do other than print it out. You could be a real smart ass and bring your laptop in with the coupon on the screen.

I'll probably make use of this to burn off whatever GS credit I have left.

Is R&C multiplayer only ad-hoc? If not, I'll probably pick that up and ask my out-of-town friends to do the same.

Yep, not a single decent coupon since July. The first half of last year was full of 20-25% off coupons that didn't require extra purchases.

As far as I know they don't get these coupons in-store anymore. At least at the stores near me they usually have no idea these coupons even exist until I bring one in.

To answer your question directly - it's an e-coupon.

Thanks. Bale's definitely my favorite actor.. even if he's got a short fuse. :D

I always get that feeling too when I flip to them. :D

Knowing how to play the system and coming out on top is the only good reason to shop there. :)

I haven't set foot in GS since last year. Edge card remains expired for the first time in like 10 years.

Sadly, the glory days of Gamestop are over. The company is struggling to survive and therefore, no more good coupons or B2G1 sales. Gohastings now gets all my used game biz.

I can't complain too much. I made a ton of money off Gamestop when they used to sell dvd boxsets. I would get the most expensive sets during B2G1F and resell them for $$$ lol

if the new game wasnt 60 bucks id go for it

i also just bought liek 3 games from go hastings so although i want to play i think i'll wait for the price drop and play ff7 after i get through dragon age hehe

I went into my local GS to pick up Size Matters, and the store had 3 copies. However, none of the cases had original box art, so I passed. I was also looking into getting Daxter, but the case had no box art. Fortunately, I have several other stores around me that I can go to. Hopefully, I'll be able to find original cases for both games...

Same here! I used to buy hundreds (even thousands) of dollars worth of stuff from EB Games. Then Gamestop came in and a lot changed. My Edge card is expired too for the first time in years. Recently (XMas) I received two copies of the same game. (Borderline). One was for PS3 and one for XBox 360. Unfortunately that was not a game I cared for. So now I had two sealed, brand new games that I did not want, given by ppl who will make me miserable if I want a receipt to exchange them. I went into GS expecting ask to trade them for store credit. (I am not one who returns games. Never). No dice, GS said. They would count them as used and give me less than half what they were worth. (And turn around and sell for full retail price - no thanks!). I am ashamed to say I took them to Walmart - they were more than willing to trade them for the stuff I wanted. GS does itself no favors by crapping on regular customers like that. I was a loyal EB/GS customer for years, but attitude like that pointed me toward Steam - although I swore i would not buy unless I got a CD - gogmamer.com, Amazon. Ebay. Even gog.com for PC classics. GS has customer UNfriendly policies. They overprice everything - especially their used games. The last straw was when they sold a friend an extended warranty on a GAME. (No I kid you not!) She was not a gamer and did not know better. That was the final straw. They'd sell their grandmothers for a little extra profit, I think. I only shop GS when they have a really good deal which is almost never.

Whats with the gamestop hate. They dont make you shop there. I mean the more competition the better. At least they are there for a deal every once and awhile.

This. I would rather have more options than less. BB deals went down the drain once Circuit City was out of business. Similar things will happen if/when GS goes down, besides, they sometimes have good deals. It is better than having no deals ever.

Because of poor customer service. Even if you do shop there, they usually harass you into buying a warranty for the game, strategy guides, and ask if you want to put any money towards an upcoming game.

I understand you aren't FORCED into spending your money with them, but that shit is just straight annoying.

Just recently I preordered BFBC2 for the 360. Amazon.com then had a deal with the extra $20 egiftcard credit... so I went to GS to cancel my preorder. When I explained WHY I wanted to cancel (Amazon = no sales tax and $20 video game credit), they told me Amazon would lose money and that I was basically wrong. Then the guy at the checkout told me that if I was without a receipt, I couldn't cancel it; only put it towards another game. I had to speak to the manager to get $54 back, $10 of which HAD to be put towards a preorder.

THAT is why people hate GameStop. They don't treat customers like human beings. Instead, they treat us like a soaking wet rag drenched in liquid money, squeezing every bit of profit they can out of us.

Harassment.

The only way to get a good deal out of these guys is to manipulate the ones they offer.

+30% credit on GC games! LOL
Trade in 2 games and get GoWIII for $20! LOL
Buy Heavy Rain and get 25% off one of our overpriced used games! LOL

Do you see where I'm going with this... ?

You REALLY need to call Gamestop corporate if that store won't give you the number of the district manager. All preorders are 100% refundable and if that store won't refund a preorder then corporate needs to get involved.

i don't know the guys at my gamestop are pretty cool and it is convenient to go there since it's right next to where i work and there are 3 on my way home from college. i refuse to buy there used games though since i hate those stupid stickers. and if i am paying $60 for a game might as well go o gamestop
