As has been said already, you get 20% less of the TIV and bonus promos don't apply. However, from the last time I did a cash trade at GS, they informed me that the EDGE card 10% bump DOES apply to cash trades.

So it lessens the amount you're losing by taking cash value instead of credit.
 
I'd pick up Wolverine, but I already rented and got through it all, I even went and got most of the trophies. I hated Prototype, I was at the end of the game when I couldn't take it anymore. $35 (with EDGE) for Bayonetta is a great price considering it came out a mere 2 months ago, but still too expensive for my blood.

Sonic Ultimate Collection may be what I get if I get anything at all.

How did you get $35 for Bayonetta? It's $40, and Edge doesn't apply for new games.
 
Sonic Ultimate Collection looks to be the most appealing thing here. Had not even heard of it until the past two weeks when this thread started.

I think what he meant was two-fold - 1. it clearly states at the top of the 1st post that B2G1 free will not be happening at the start of Gamerdays ... maybe the end? 2. New games never fall under the B2G1 sales at Gamestop ... that would be too great a deal for GS to offer since they are GS after all.

but I did it last year when RE5 came out with gamestop. Maybe they made a mistake and I ripped them for 3 new games for 120 instead of 180. doubt that though.
 
Don't see anything I like that I don't all ready own.. might get Pop cop vol 2. I all ready have peggle but might enjoy the other two and will be able to let friends borrow it when I'm done.
 
Went out and bought a used copy of Soul Calibur PSP tonight to see if I liked it, and yeah, I'll be returning it for a new copy for sure.
I hope the new GI with the coupon shows up in the next few days.
 
I'm in for COD 4 and Sacred 2 both on 360. I sold my COD 4 for MW 2, got sick of that, and sold MW 2 for FF XIII. $20 is a great price considering I have the map pack and people still play.

The April GI showed up earlier than usual in my mailbox, March 9th I believe. Usually, GI doesn't get to me until mid-month. I wouldn't expect the May edition to arrive until mid-April, and there's no guarantee there will be a coupon at all.

AC2 is a sick game just way to short (finished in about 5 hours) I never played one and I was fine jumping right into 2 as for prototype looks good but never played it and I wish the blazblue was for xbox i would pick that up
 
Someone on one of these threads says that Gamedays sales stuff is also compatible with B2G1 free if they have it. Anyone try Gamedays stuff with B2G1 last year?

Yea, go for AC2 you would not be disappointed. Its was one of best games last year.
 
The Game Days coupon might show up in the weekly e-mail coupons... it would make sense, since the coupons start on Friday, and the sale starts on Friday.

I'm definitely in for Soul Calibur, Prototype, and World At War for $20 a piece. Might as well burn through the rest of my Gamestop credit so I can take my business back to Amazon.

My GameStop has a used copy of Bayonetta (currently priced $49.99). Does the Gameday discounts not apply to used games? Pardon my ignorance if they don't, I'm new to all of this.

I know on the 360, it's still in the top 10 games played on Live. I assume for PS3 it's just as played.

Same goes for Modern Warfare... still tons of people playing it, apparently. Which is weird for console multiplayers, they usually abandon ship as soon as the next big thing hits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Why is Saw (360/PS3) $24.99 and not $19.99 like originally posted?

A. It seems the price was read wrong at first, or just assumed to be $19.99, as the accurate and final list has it listed for $24.99. The game is still garbage in my opinion, but is an easy 1000 Achievement Points / Platinum Trophy. I recommend renting it, or waiting for a lower price.

Q. WHERE IS THE 10% Game Day Sale Coupon????

A. The past few Game Day sales did have a 10% coupon inside the Game Informer magazines, However the current Game Informer (Portal 2 on the cover) that has the Game Day sale advertised DOES NOT have the coupon. No official word if a coupon will be given or exist at this time. Just keep checking the thread for updates from fellow CAGS. Perhaps it will be distributed in the next Game Informer (in April) or with the Weekly Coupon in the GameStop E-mails.

Q. Will the games be gutted? if so how do I get a SEALED copy?

A. Yes, stores always gut their games to put into the sale bin. YMMV on whether the store guts every copy, or just one of each copy of the game. Best advice, is to get their early on the first day in hopes they did not get around to getting all the copies yet. Some stores in my area seem to hate gutting multiple copies, and generally just gut one copy in general as a standard. Once again YMMV.

It's GameStop expect gutted copies, if anything try to price match with BestBuy since the prices will be posted online here: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/

Q. Why does GameStop GUT their games?

A. I assume it is obviously to prevent theft since they are a small retail store (space wise), and not like BestBuy. It is not cost effective for a company that operates in small locations to use security detectors (more cost), so the GUT method works for them. Just politely ask for a sealed copy if they have it, or just say no thanks. Please don't complain in the threads. Shit gets old. I hate gutted copies just like the next guy, but it is nothing new, just move on.

Q. Are the games on sale NEW or USED?

A. All games/accessories on sale are NEW. If a Buy 2 Get 1 Free does occur during the Game Day sale then that will be for USED games only.

Q. Will the USED prices drop because the NEW ones are on sale?

A. Depends, typically when a NEW game is on a temporarily price drop, the USED copy will stay at its current price. So Assassins Creed 2 which is on sale for $29.99 NEW during the sale, may still have a USED price of $54.99. However, there are times when they will drop the USED price as well to reflect the NEW price drop.

Q. Where is the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Used Games?

A. As far as I recall, GameStop usually holds a B2G1 Free at the beginning and/or end of the Game Days sale. I just got this list from fellow CAGs Driftninja & arcurifisher, and just organized it. Although the other threads have not 100% confirmed it as of 3/25/10, I think it is pretty safe to say there will be a B2G1 sometime during this Game Day sale. Check back for updates.

Q. These games on sale are horrible, any chance of better games being added?

A. Yes, I agree a good portion of the games are horrible, I mean "My Baby First Steps" seriously?. GameStop is known to add / remove games during the Game Day sales, so yes some new titles could be added, but don't expect it to be anything great, but you never know, maybe this year...

Q. Why is there so many threads on this sale?

A. Not sure why since I didn't make them, but don't flame the thread creators because it is just people trying to contribute to the CAG community. Just be polite please, and hopefully we will have a single thread to follow during the sale.

Two different OPs, and for some reason a mod never merged them. Now that both threads are running in the 27-28 page range, it's a little late to do anything about it, as a merge would be ultra-confusing at this point.

Anyway, I'd be really surprised if the other OP's list is really any significantly different. We've seen the list of games on the GameStop site, and the prices that the OP of this thread lists are on par with what we've seen in past Game Days sales.

All Gamestop's get resupplied from the warehouse for this sale.

Quantities vary by store, but if it's like the last two years, every store will have copies on hand the day the sale starts.

I recommend Rune Factory, it's fantastic, and the price is a steal. You'll get many hours out of it if you are a Zelda / HM fan.
