I've received a couple pm's from people wanting to contribute prices but don't want to get harassed about selling to someone or getting more at place x. If this is the case for anyone, you can pm me any values and I'll update them in the list and database.
Instructions on finding games in the database and inputting the values from different sections can be found in my blog post here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=14143. I would put the entire post in the thread but this is already kind of a large post.

FAQ
These trade-in values are really low!
While that may be true, if you combine the games with the right promotion they can work to your advantage. There are knowledgeable people in this thread that are normally willing to help.

Is there any way to look at what the previous values reported on a game?
You can search through this thread and previous ones to see what a game has been reported in the past. With the TIV Tracker you can sort by date and then go through the list of past updated values through that as well. Here are the previous GS TIV Threads: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Can I trade-in sealed games?
No. You might come across the rare GameStop that would let you do it, but they are going to open them anyway.

Do trade-ins have to have their original case, insert and manual?
No, however it will be YMMV on if they charge you a refurbish fee for them in that condition. Most GameStops wont charge a fee but there are some that charge for incomplete games.

Will they accept my game if it is really beat up?
YMMV. It really all depends upon the employee you get. Some will charge refurbish fees, some wont, some wont accept the game and others just take them without a second glance.

What are the refurb fees on games?
There appears to be set prices for set value ranges. We aren't 100% certain on the splits just yet. Here is what we have currently:
$0.25-$2 Value:
$0.75 Refurb Fee
$2.01-$4 Value: $1 Refurb Fee
$4.01-$7 Value: $2 Refurb Fee
$7.01-$10 Value: $3 Refurb Fee
$10.01 & Higher Value: $4 Refurb Fee
This information isn't guaranteed by any mean and we are still working on nailing it down.

I have a Collector's/Limited/Special edition of a game, do I have to trade-in all of the extras?
No, but there are a handful of games that their variations have separate listings at GameStop: Madden 09 Anniversary Edition, Battlefield: Bad Company Gold Edition, and a few others.

Can I trade in multiple copies of the same game?
YMMV. The official policy is no, but there are some GameStops that overlook that rule.

What all do I have to trade in for a console trade-in?
Xbox 360: Console Unit, power brick, A/V Cables, Controller (wired/wireless)
Wii: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cables, Wiimote, Nunchuck, Sensor Bar
Playstation 3: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller, USB Cable
Playstation 2: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller (Must be a DualShock2)
GameCube: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller
PSP: Handheld, A/C Adapter
Nintendo DS/DSLite/DSi: Handheld, A/C Adapter, Stylus

Can I trade in a defective/broken console?
For the most part yes. If it powers on but doesn't play games, they will take the console as a refurb unit and put a refurb fee on the console. The refurb fee on the console will vary on the price of the console so those numbers will change. You are still required to trade in everything required listed in the question directly above. They will not, however, take RROD 360 consoles. There may be stores that still do it, but official policy is to not take them in.

How much does an EDGE card subscription cost?
It costs $14.99 and is good for a year. It also comes with a 1-year subscription to Game Informer magazine.

What bonuses come with having an EDGE card?
You will get an extra 10% trade-in credit on the base value of the game and an extra 10% off the purchase of used games.

Does the EDGE Card give me a bonus on hardware trade-ins?
No. You will only get the bonus for games and accessories.

What if I want cash instead of credit, what do they deduct?
If you decide that you want cash instead of credit, they will take 20% off the base values and promos will not apply.

Does promo "....." have a minimum trade-in value?
If the promo has a minimum trade-in value requirement, it will be listed in the promo. If it isn't there, then there is no limit. However, as with all trades, they are subject to manager approval so the manager could have setup his own little rule-set requiring a minimum of whatever.

I used a Power Trade promo for a pre-order, can I cancel that pre-order and get the credit or move it to another game I want?
Yes on both accounts. However, if you do a bunch of the power trades and just straight drop the pre-order you could create some ill-will between yourself and the employees you cancel on.

I just tried to use a promo that has a select list of games eligible, but they say my game isn't eligible anymore, what gives?
Basically they have the right to change the eligible games at any time. They tend to update these frequently so as to lock out any easy/cheap games. It's best to check the eligible list the day of your trade.

Can I stack two different trade-in promos?
No. The only thing that will stack with trade-ins is your EDGE card.

If I pay for an item using all credit on my card, do I have to pay sales tax?
This varies depending upon the state you live in.

What states charge sales tax on purchases paid in full with credit and which ones don't?
Charge Sales Tax on Credit Purchases: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah,
Does Not Charge Sales Tax on Credit Purchases: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming
No Information Yet: Connecticut, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia

My state doesn't charge sales tax on purchases made by credit, why is gamestop.com charging me tax?
It is just the way they have designed their system. The best theory we have seen is that since you are only inputting the number off of the back of the card, it isn't going to pick up the programming from the specially tagged EDGE cards. Some kind of programming that gets input from their system that wont show up when only inputting the number off the back of the card.

First post contains promo information and the FAQ. Second post has the 360/Wii/PS3 values. Third post has the PS2/GC values. Fourth post has DS/PSP/GBA values.

Think it is. I know I went to one a couple of years ago on Easter.

C'mon. It's Gamestop. They're not going to lose out on a day to make some profits, holiday or not.;)
Anyone know if GS is open on Easter sunday? I know its highly unlikely, but still...
The one by my household is open from 12 to 5.

Base TIV today:

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3) - $7.00
Rock Band 2 (PS3) - $7.25
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS2) - $2.25

Also, I'm going to mention this, but I'd also understand if you didn't want to mark it as an official price in the OP. I was planning on trading in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time (PS3), till I saw on the machine it rang up as only having a Base TIV of $10.00. I decided it best to just keep it, and move it elsewhere, lol. Thought I'd pass that along though.

Thanks!
will they take an xbox with the RROD?

I was told that marketing is coming down on Monday and not today this week.(Sunday being today)

I'm guessing that not all of them are open on Easter.

Just got back from GS:

Base values

PSP:
Ghost recon Adv. warfighter 2 3.00
Fifa 2007 2.00
Flatout: Head on 3.75

Xbox 360:
60 GB hard drive: 20.00

PS3:
Devil may cry: 6.00
Assasins creed 2: 14.50
Final fantasy 13: 30.00
God of war collection: 8.00
Little big planet GOTY: 8.00(This went down 16 bucks since the last time someone traded it in. Daang. Its probably cause its a GH now)
Infamous: 7.00

Total after promo: 151.23

I'd say, not a bad day. Done with all these games, so i guess ill wait for something like B2G1.

If the extra $50 on consoles requires it to be put toward a new system, would I be able to trade in 2 core 360s toward one elite bundle?

Updated lists and database. Also updated with promo information. The website doesn't show the end dates but GameStop trade-in promos run 3 weeks and then they either disappear or get picked up again. No mention of the $50 bonus but they may not have fully updated yet.

They just added the info about the save $25 on a title $29.99 or higher so I'm still counting on the $50 hardware bonus. I don't always go by what employees tell me because half the time they don't even know what is going on until the promo pops up on the screen.

I was just about to say the same thing. Most GS employees do not follow promos with the same fervor that we do. They generally don't learn about them until someone takes advantage of them.

I would lean towards no. That would technically be combining the promo with another promo, of itself, but the computer probably wouldn't allow it.

I'm about done with BC2, the group I normally play with has gone back to CoD, and since I can't stand playing multiplayer games with random people, I guess I'll be picking MW2 back up. With the current promotions going on, I figured it something like this:

Trade in:
Battlefield: BC2 - $25
GTA IV: $5

EDGE + 10% for 2 games = $6
Total trade in = $36

MW2 used online from GS - $45
Gears 2 used - $20
??? - $???

That $25 off a $29.99 or higher game promo is only good if you could find one of the POG's at Blockbuster for $7-10 of one of those titles, since many of them you should be able to do the power trade 25% and get more than the $25 off promo.

I may dump these other two copies of Hot Shots Golf for PS3 towards Red Dead Redemption, though I wonder if since I paid off a full pre-order for it, they would just let me put it on my EDGE card.

I can confirm the $50 console promo. I just went into Gamestop to trade in my Wii and was able to get $140 in credit (originally $90 before promo).

I am going to try and follow this - if I trade in GoW 3 at its current $30 TIV and want to get Just Cause 2 new for $60, I'll get the game for $35, so only $5 out of pocket?

Or is this saying that ALL of those listed games have a $25 TIV for this deal if applied to a new game?

For the $50 console trade in bonus, is there any advertising for it, or is it simply bring your stuff to GS and hope the bonus kicks in? Also, does anyone know the expiration date? TIA!
For the $50 console trade in bonus, is there any advertising for it, or is it simply bring your stuff to GS and hope the bonus kicks in? Also, does anyone know the expiration date? TIA!
Well, it's not on their site, yet, but if someone is confirming it, there's no hoping it will kick in. GS promos are universal. Stores do have to "phone home," if you will, so sometimes, things don't line-up right away, but by now, you should have no issue bringing your system in and getting the boost.

Thanks for the info, I had already submitted GoW to Amazon for the better TIV but wanted to see if this deal really was too good to be true - guess it was :[
Do i get an extra 10% EDGE bonus when trading in my 360?
From the FAQ in the first post:
Does the EDGE Card give me a bonus on hardware trade-ins?
No. You will only get the bonus for games and accessories.
that really stinks. i'm only going to get 160 with the hard drive. not sure if it's worth it

called 1 gamestop and they said they didnt hear anything about it so called the other gamestop that is like 2 miles away from that one and they said there is the $50 promo started today on system trade in woot

Hmm, Mario Party 8 and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom getting $25 each from the new promo isn't too terrible, but I don't really want to put it towards pair of new games but I suppose I can just return the games for credit.

Perhaps I'll dump my $14 copy of L4D2 from last week. Not sure what it's getting, but I assume since MSRP dropped it's considerably less than $25.
