To all those saying things like "I don't know why people are saying there are problems with Digital River. I ordered X game and it arrived the next day. There is no issue with them" There have been a TON of documented issues with this company and dealing with them if you have an issue is like having a root canal. The thing is even the worst companies that are in business are going to have customers with pleasant experiences from time to time. I'm sure there is a decent chance everything would be fine if I placed an order but if I, and others, continue to support these anti-consumer policies they have ZERO reason to change them. Further the Publishers should know that having DR run their online store is a poor decision and if we ignore these issues why would they change?

In the end the people mentioning the issues with DR are making sure other CAG have the info available to them so they can make a decision based on accurate information from other members personal experiences. To those that did order good luck!

 
I want Graces f but the $6 shipping kills it. Maybe throw in Dark Souls to make it free shipping plus get another game along with it. 

 
My order of Graces f came in today and I was pretty surprised that it came in perfect condition. It came in a decent sized box padded with air packets was expecting a bubble mailer. Glad that there was another sale on it since I missed the last one but still wish I could of got Abyss for the 3DS as well during that sale.
 
Both my games came in today.  In a box with no padding.  Less than a week to get to me.  Good experience for me.

 
I placed an order with them last week, since they were half off and on sale, and looks like Namco Store doesn't use DR anymore, but my previous order was processed by them. >.<

 
Has anyone who ordered the $60 Dark Souls 2 CE a week or so ago received theirs yet? I still haven't received mine, and they're being shady on the email customer support. It's been 8 business days, and the shipping said 5-7

Id ask in the appropriate thread. But Cheapy locked it because people were being stupid

Same for me. My PS3 CE also has not shown up, but the order I made the day before (Defiance, Splatterhouse mask and shirt) showed up last week. Their "check order status" doesnt work, either, since they've moved over to amazon sales.

Aside from ni no mini wizard edition debacle for which they gave me 50 dollar coupon I never had a problem with them.

Its just cool to hate dr is mostly it. People just love to bitch for no reason other than to jump on the bandwagon with everyone else. Im sure there a lot of legit complaints out there but some people love to just never let things go and anytime a thread pops up with them they climb on in just so they can let everyone know they hate them.

Eventually it wont be cool to bitch about them and people will move on. Kind of like how call of duty was the cool thing to hate for no reason, then it was cool to constantly bash sony because they got hacked, then it was cool to hate ea and so on. Its just a fad that will run its course.

Disagree. There are many CAGs who have had issues with Digital River, so it's not so much cool to complain about them as it is a reflection of reality. I always find it fascinating when CAGs like yourself who have had a few good experiences with DR somehow believe that the problems other CAGs have had with them are blown out of proportion. From poor quality packaging materials to orders vanishing to a total inability to cancel even when you speak with a representative and get confirmation via e-mail of cancellation, DR seems to have every bad quality of fulfillment companies rolled into one big terrible organization. Having said that, it appears Namco has now switched to Amazon for their fulfillment on their store, so hopefully this is the start of a trend by publishers away from DR.

 
NIS used to use DR and you had to pray daily just to hope to get your CE game arriving intact and forget the release date, that means nothing to DR. That's why NIS dropped DR eventually, and looks like Namco has finally wised up and dropped them too.

Sounds like it happened to most of us. I emailed them last night about it, got an email today saying they were investigating, then a hour or so later. I got the shipping confirmation. I'm also not fucking happy.

Well It's certainlly good because at least you don't have to reach the $25+ for free shipping. But besides the Wizard Edition issue with DR, personally I didn't have any more sour notes with the company. All my orders came very well packaged and safe, which have been quite a few in between Squenix &amp; Namco.

Unlike Amazon who insists on using bubble mailers if your shit is small enough to fit in there. I got both Bravely Default CE, and GTA V SE arrive crushed, that was enough for me to stop purchasing smaller CE's from Amazon.

Digital river is trash and it should speak volumes that the company switched over to amazon. That means DR was bad for their overall business.

I remember buying MVC3 SE from the capcom store...fulfilled by digital river...

Along with many Others i Didn't get my game until a month later. Not good if you are a competitive player

Did I mention my package was beat to shit?

The fact that Namco has dropped Digital River should be in the OP so everyone will know. I guarantee that a large number of people don't even click through the link because of it.

With Ni No Kuni Wizard Edition, there was a preorder "ni no starter" (kick starter copy) that a lot of CAG's and others signed up for. They wanted to make sure that they got the limited edition version. Then a couple of weeks before the game launched, they opened up sales again to get rid of the cancelled orders. Right before launch, a link was going around that people here and elsewhere were clicking that was sent to some by CSR's. It was a "backdoor" link into the digital river ordering system and placed you at the front of the line. I placed an order in the 2nd open period a couple of weeks before launch. Someone that clicked that link took my order. Many CAG's were part of the people that committed to buying it 9 months before launch and they had their LE's taken by people that clicked the link. DR wouldn't do anything about it and frankly didn't give a shit. I could have clicked the link (it was posted on CAG) but I figured my order was safe, I had no idea they were taking other people's orders to fulfill those orders. This pissed a lot of people off - I'll never use DR again. Don't worry though, Namco sent out players guides to everyone that had their orders stolen - at NAMCO'S expense. Digital River sure as shit didn't pay for those players guides, Namco took a loss on them because of DR's incompetence. I do appreciate that Namco cares about their customers enough to give them something though. Some CAG's had their order taken and also clicked through the link so they got the LE AND they got the free players guide. By the time that link was going around, everyone knew it was going to be super rare and valuable. People were selling their copies before they received them for hundreds on eBay.

This news is more exciting than E3 - especially if it means the whole industry will abandon DR once their contracts are over. I can finally get Tales of the Abyss next time they have it on sale for 15 or 20 bucks without an extra $6 shipping added.

Also, DR doesn't let you change/update your shipping address. You have to cancel your entire order or have it shipped to an old address. They won't let you change your payment method. They won't ship your order unless the entire order is complete. Example: Someone orders 8 games from the SquareEnix sale. 2 of the items are backordered. They never ship the order or it come 6-12 months later. This DOES happen.

Or how about this, he ordered a bundle (this happened to a lot of people) with a game and controller. They then decided they sold more bundles than they had in stock and sent him the game without the controller and charged him the bundle price.

Dark Souls 2 CE update: My tracking number says I won't get it until the 9th. 2 full weeks for an order that should've been here 2 days ago. Wtf.

Where did you email? I've been trying to get them to ship mine out since last Friday and they still haven't done anything
