Halo Reach (Forge) questions

I've had my 360 for years now, and have Halo 3 and Reach, but they've been sitting sealed until yesterday as I'm gearing up for a console LAN party this weekend. I haven't played a Halo game since 2 back on the original XBOX.

My question is regarding the custom Forge maps, specifically, Speed Forge.

Do I need to be an XBL gold member to play this MP map, in other words, do I have to be connected online to play this map even if I want to only play through LAN? Or can I just download it to my HDD (along with any other maps)?

Any other recommended Forge maps to play? Any specific tips or tricks I need to be aware of when I'm setting up the 360's for LAN play?

Also, I assume nothing has changed since 2 where you can have 4 player split-screen LAN action vs. up to 3 other 360's.

I'm almost positive you can just download it and play it without Gold.

Thanks for the heads-up. Apparently the maps are unavailable for download due to them moving the data from Bungie's servers to the new developers.

Now I'm just trying to find a way to get the maps another way.
