Some reviews mention this drive running cool which could help keep the PS3 from getting too warm.
I'm going to try to hold off as long as I can to see if SSD drives drop in price in the next year or 2. I just bought my PS3 though so only have a couple games (not much space is used so far). I guess if I fill up my 80 GB drive anytime soon, I'll be changing my tune.

I ended up filling my 60gb within a year. I had to do a lot of demo shuffling to keep it down. I'd recommend a 320gb even though it may seem excessive now.
Couple other options on newegg but that one had reviews from people that already tested it on a PS3. Probably can find some better deals through checking other sites. Big, fast drive is the way to go.
Looks like it doesn't matter too much. Save a second or 2 here or there. I guess going with 7200 RPM drive is only worth it if you can find a good deal on one so that the price difference isn't very much.
I have a 7200RPM in my ps3, I would say I have noticed a difference in games like GTA 4 or Fallout 3. Basically any game that constantly loads off of the HDD.
