Have an external hardrive, can I open it up and use it in my PS4

i bought the following external HD last year and have never used it. Is it possible to open this model up and plop it in my ps4? I am not very savy with computers, but have read the guide for installing an new HD in the ps4. I have been digitally downloading games because i save money for buying games for my son and I. I could use the additional space:

No. There is a 3.5" hard drive inside that case. The PS4 uses 2.5" drives.

I haven't looked at the PS4 internal drive connections yet, but wouldn't it be possible to use a SATA extension cable to connect to an external bare 3.5" SATA drive?  I was able to successfully do this for the PS3 back in the day.

It is possible. The connections and spacing are the same for both 2.5" and 3.5" HDD's. I imagine unless the PS4 has a conversion to some odd format clipped onto the HDD, it's still a regular SATA connection.
