I honestly can't believe how BB is finally handling this...Are they trying to win us over? Holiday season? Its unbelievable...people getting giftcards and such. I still have hatred for them, but you gotta give it up...at least this time.

same here. Store system said they had Heroes in stock this morning at 6am, got there at opening, no copies of heroes anywhere.
 
can anyone tell me what other good movies are out on HD that are worth pickin up, i was thinking of Batman Begins & Flags of our Fathers...any suggestions?
 
i dont get it.. the retail insider page says its in the system now.. so how come it still isn't ringing up right at the register?

Just go up to customer service, show her the ad and say I didn't see heroes on the shelves, they check the computer. They cant find it, ask for a rain check and then they issue you a rain check

First, the manager pennied out the two free movies and then left the register. When the cashier hit total, it tried to charge me full price for Heroes so the manager had to come back and override the Heroes too.
 
Think there's any way, if they don't have Heroes in stock, that they'd give me an equal priced or less box set, like Planet Earth?

Now looking at bb.com, the store I went to yesterday (who had a sign up saying they wouldn't honor the deal) had both the HD drive and Heroes in stock, now Heroes is OOS. I'm going to give the manager hell if he doesn't give me a rain check or equal priced set (which I wouldn't expect them to do).
 
For those of you that have Heroes HD sold out at your store, this is very YMMV but it worked for me. Back when BB had the deal where you purchase the Xbox Hd player and get 300 HDDVD for free, they were sold out of 300. So, I asked the manager (nicely) if I could just pick up another movie that was the same price, instead of getting a raincheck. He said sure, I don't see why not. Give it a shot, the worst they can say is no, and if they say yes, then you get $80 in HD DVDs of your choice.

EDIT: Corrected price of Heroes to $80 from $100, thanks aktick.

Thanks, that's what I'll try. Honestly, I don't really want Heroes that awfully bad. I'd keep it if I got it, but I watched it all in HD last year when it was on, and since I'm in the middle of S2 now, I don't feel like watching S1 again.

Isn't it on sale for $80 though right now? So I'm guessing the other set would have to be $80 or less?

well, i just got back from Best Buy. I still can't believe i walked out of there with

Heroes Season1 Box Set

Transformers
King Kong

and 5 free comming in the mail (although selection isn't all that great to pick from)

all for freakin nothing! just amazing

I must say that the scan of the retail insider page made all the difference. They didn't even question the deal, once they read it.

The only problem the manager had was figuring out how to ring everything up. he basically had to ring up 2 seperate transactions because their system only lets you apply up one promotion at a time (Either Heroes or the 2 Free HD DVD's)

This is my first real big savings directly attributed to this forum.

Thanks, I've been looking for one of those. But I don't *think* it'll work, because it excludes video game accessories, which I think the HD addon is considered. But it doesn't seem to exclude BRD and HD DVD players, which other coupons have, so maybe it's worth a shot. Get a clueless cashier and it might work.

Of course the catch 22 there is that you might need a manager to get the 2 extra HD DVDs. I'll print it out and try it, I'm heading to BB between appointments here in a few minutes.
 
Went yesterday and got my HD DVD player, Heroes S1, Pitch Black, and Chronicles of Riddick. The girl at the register didn't believe me that I get 2 free DVDs so she told some supervisor. The supervisor said "let me check the list" and went in the back room for 5 minutes. She came out and said "It should work." She had to manually take off the price for my 2 DVDs, then the promo came up after she zeroed them out. Weird.

I've read reports that the 2 free instantly with purchase of HD-DVD player should automatically zero out at register when you purchase in conjunction with 360 HD-DVD add on and Heroes season 1!

So everyone go for it! No need to argue and no more worries/frustration!

it wasn't that simple at my bb, they had to drop the price of the 360 drive and charge the normal prices of the two hd-dvd movies to bring it back to 180.

I wonder how much of a mess it's going to be when I try to claim my heroes? They might have to return everything then rebuy everything.

Some stores might refuse to do it so just call 1-888-best-buy and they'll fix it.

I had to fight a little bit as they tried to tell me the deal is for 2 hddvds under $34.99 TOTAL. In the end they're sending me a $70 gift card.

that retail insider scan should be all you need.. they cannot dispute it. once i gave that to the manager, he didn't even hesitate to honor it.
 
Okay.. This BB in NY (went to Chelsea 23rd and 6th Ave)... Just got back from my lunch. I got the 2 free HD-DVD movies... I picked Transformer and The Departed...Plus free HEROES S1 and King Kong... I check their Website and they didn't have on stock of HEROES S1 but when i got there... i saw 2 copies left and picked one. It seems like it's already in computer cashier... That's what i saw after they scanned it.... Almost $196 after tax! Thanks!
 
The two free hd-dvd ($34.99 and lower) for the X360 add-on should work... the BB system has updated the promotion. I just brought the add-on and the two hd-dvds free, but i didn't get the Heroes S1 set, they don't have it!!!! I was told that i can get it for free within 30 days as long as the store has it. Sigh, i wasted an hour locating Heroes S1 hd-dvd... Well, the guy checked for me in the "back room" and told me they don't have it...
if i don't get my Heroes for free, i'm gonna return the add-on, no fucking way...

Anyone know where I can return the copy of Heroes Season 1 to without a receipt? I never watched and dont care to get started with another show I need to watch every week.

Also form what people have told me season two isnt living up to season ones expectations.

I got the deal and it took some talking to with 888bestbuy and with a case number it was no problem.

The hd-dvd player red ringed my 360 right after I connected it and now I have to deal with best buy and the extended warranty for the 360.

Anyone know when/if the 360 is going to have a price drop this fall. BEst buy refunds the $399 for my original purchase so if the 360 can be had for $300 in a month, I'll just wait.

no deal on your half... the Heroes S1 hd-dvd worth about $50, as for the two free hd-dvds, you can get it for less than $25 on-line else where.

It's only a good deal if you want an add-on. Which in a sense, it's about $120... So, sell it for $120-$150...

As far as the ad mentions...it ends this Saturday. Though, it could re-appear next week minus the 2 free additional HD DVD's.

so wait a sec... the add-on CAN red ring the X360??? What??? I thought the RRoD problem is due to the overheating of the graphic chip, i.e. play games too long... If that's the case, then what the hell the add-on really does? Translating the contents on the hd-dvd disc to the X360?
