Imports Links: Exclusive Titles and Suggestions:
Anybody interested in imports, EzyDVD is doing a 2 for 50 (or 25 a pop) sale for Universal titles.

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?pid=647&ddat=1&dsal=1&dper=1

Import exclusive titles include

Rambo 1-3
The Holiday
Total Recall

And there is also non-combo versions of

Children Of Men
Smokin' Aces
American Werewolf In London
Miami Vice

for you combo haters.

The really nice thing is that the AUD is weaker than the US dollar. So I was able to grab Rambo: First Blood for only 27.23 AUD (US $22.39)
Kinda of off topic with the BB deal going on, but has Wal-Mart stopped selling HDDVDs? I went by my local Wal-Mart tonight and tried to buy Blood Diamond for $18.96 and it kept on coming up "Do not sell" or something like that when they scanned it. They sent me to the CS desk and I went back and forth between them and Electronics department, but in the end, they refused to sell me the disc saying it was on recall or something. Anyone have any ideas?

i went and was able to get the two HD DVDs. Unfortunately, I couldnt get any sets. they scoured the retail insider to closely. none the less I walked away with The Host and Children of Men. Plus the 70 gift card im expecting in the mail.

Just out of curiosity I had Blockbuster scan sopranos season 6 part 2 HD and it was valued at $2 trade in!! Everyone should jump on this before Blockbuster realizes what they are losing.

I suspect for those having issues at Walmart it might have to do with the A2 promotion that is supposed to start from what I recall reading 11/2. Whomever set the computers up to stop the players from being sold until they most likely by accident setup everything HD-DVD related as being blocked from sale.

damn getting planet earth with the warner bros deal at $59 is pretty tempting...though im wondering if theres gonna be a black friday or christmas deal on it :cold:

I was able to get another HD DVD drive with Heroes yesterday. I added Planet Earth and Ultimate Matrix and the register took $35 off each set (I assume for the get two free HD DVDs under $35). So, UM was $55 and PE was $35.

Glad everyone got such great deals, occasionally maybe getting a little more than the reseller originally intended.

Any chance we might start posting about NEW deals now? :D

I come in almost daily to check on new HD-DVD deals, and I'm not sure I've seen ANYTHING in the past week. :(

At least I found the lowest price without rebate for the Spider-Man Trilogy in the Blu-Ray forum.

So after a week of deciding I would get the Xbox HD DVD player and then changing my mind, I picked one up yesterday. It's really too bad that I didn't manage to get to Best Buy before they realized they were giving away free box sets, but I'm extremely happy with what I got anyway.

For $238 I got:

- Xbox 360 HD DVD player ($180 + tax)
------- King Kong HD DVD (free)
------- Xbox 360 Universal Remote (free)
- Heroes Season 1 HD DVD Box Set (free)
- 300 HD DVD (free)
- Planet Earth HD DVD ($45)

And then of course I'll be getting the 5 free HD DVDs through the mail-in offer. Awesome deal overall, and I'm glad I jumped on it. It would have been nice to save that extra $45 on Planet Earth, but oh well.

Advoid Warner's webstore. They take forever to ship stuff, their order tracking site is lagged on telling you if things are shipped, their customer service can't tell you if your order is shipped let alone what color socks they are wearing, etc etc etc......

So yeah, advoid them.

nuts how wb store turned from being an awesome store that got movies to your house before release date to just plain old sucking.

i have pans on preorder with them.. lets see what happens with that.. i was going to place another order but i think ill just prey for a bogo at amazon or something

They decided to "fix" their computers for a month. Only issue is they didn't stop taking orders so that created a huge backlog for the warehouse to work through. The warehouse only works Monday-Friday and the customer service is a third-party company hired by Warner with no real connection to the warehouse.

to anyone who used buy.com for this now dead deal they sold you the drive for $110 and heroes for $70, not for free, so you can probably return heroes and keep the drive for $110!!

They got me 2001 on the release date, so I'm happy with them so far. The tracking sucks, but the service was good.

anyone here know much more about the warner bros store? Do they charge you tax? Im looking at jumping on the oceans trilogy and the harry potter set, but was wondering if tax will be applied as well.

Depends on the state.
cag vet, they were discounting the box sets -$35 instead of free.

been noted in many recent posts in this topic.
:bomb: I should take better looks at things.
I don't know why I thought I saw the two free movies plus the PE for $45.
Thanks for pointing it out.

the best thing about the warner store is when they tell you your order was canceled and it shows up at your house the next day

espically if you then go out and buy it from circuit city, since you actually believed them

you could always just return the one that warner sent you to circuit city. I'm assuming it costed more there then from WB.

I dont think it counts as 'as bad' of a fraud compared to the people returning stuff to walmart, since you actually have a receipt.

Yeah its the same item unless its like BMG and has a variant on the UPC code and is printed manufactured for BMG etc....

So it begins the Black Friday Deals. Sears will have the Toshiba HDA3 HD DVD Player for 169.99 as a door buster sale. This being the A3 i can only wonder what we might see for the A2 if that can be had for under 150.00 I might have a second HD DVD player in my house :D

what i ended up doing, was just a hassle

but yea hopefully they will go back to being great like before they upgraded their computers
I might have to get the A3 if Sears.com has it online.
If it's a door buster sale, not likely. Those kinds of sales are only there for the fruits waiting in the freezing morning for hours to be first in.

me too.. i hate getting up early for these fucking sales..

and i think last year i got pretty much everything i wanted online.

the pic mentions sears.com so here's hoping....

man i feel bad for the ppl that actually wait in freezing temps

What guyver said

so i am finally geting around to filling out the fye rebate forms for knocked up and next..

what is that whole virtual card thing.. do i still have to mail something in>?
A2 > A3 FYI guys.
I think you've go this backwards. Although, with a firmware upgrade to the A2 i think all the A3 has going for it is a smaller form factor, but don't hold me to that.

When you mail it in make sure you put your email addy on there. When they get it you can go online and change it to a virtual gift card instead of a $7 check. It takes about 1-2 weeks but you will get a gift card code in your email that you can use at FYE and all of those other stores associated with them.

NP. I broke down and paid my hard earned money on the Spidey Trilogy with it and used the WelcomeCCTen code to get my 10% off. Not an HD-DVD but still better than Amazon and DDD pricing.

hey...i just sold my xbox 360 hd dvd player on ebay (got $140 for it...not bad)...and im curious to know how you give the other person the whole 5 FREE HD DVDs offer? i mean...do you have to send them the receipt you got from BB or can you just send them the single Xbox 360 HD DVD Add-on and they can cut out the UPC and send it in? how does that whole thing work?

They need a valid receipt, the original UPC and the rebate form.
if someone would kindly PM me some software that can work with the 360 hd-dvd player on the PC, I would be so happy.
check you PM box.

about warner: i ordered 4 kubrick movies from them on tuesday, got 3 on monday and 1 today

so i think they fixed the shipping problems

So the A3 is going to be available on BF from Sears for $169...here's a question that came up on AVS Forum:

People were first saying get Best Buy or another store to pricematch the Sears or other store price on a BF deal. Of course the problem there is it'd be VERY YMMV, as chances are they won't pricematch a BF deal, especially if it's no longer in stock at the other store.

So somebody thought ok, why not buy it NOW at that store that will have the BF deal, then get them to match the price during the BF sale hours - no fighting with terrible very early morning crowds, just get there before the sale hours are up. If they don't want to adjust the price, either because it was a prior purchase or because they are now out of stock, return it! Now they are magically in stock again, and you can re-buy it at that BF price.

I'm thinking of things like TVs (ok, maybe that'd be kind of tough to return, but just leave it in the box until then?), DVD players (much easier to put it back in the box on the morning of BF), and other small appliances.

DVDs and video games would only be doable if you didn't open them, of course.

Can they really shoot you down if you return the item and want to rebuy it? It seems that if they did, it'd be against store policy and only because you were trying to pull one over on them. I can't believe most of the aggravated cashiers that day are going to put up a huge fight over it?

Thoughts?

I might try this with the A3. Worst thing that can happen is I return it on Black Friday and get my money back. :?:
