Help choosing a new video card.
I am looking to buy a new video card Saturday but i am stuck with my decision. I am not sure if I want a:
Radeon x1900 gt
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7790223&type=product&id=1142291022710

or an Nvidea 7900 gt oc
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7729309&type=product&id=1140392184149

Both of these cards are in my price range right now and I have to get the card from BB. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
FTW

hmm.. both are obviously nice, but definitely go with the 7900GT. your comparison should be 7900GT vs X1900 XT

the x1900GT only has 12 pipes active, lame.

Each card has it's advantages... the ATIs can do more whereas the Nvidias are raw power. Most people don't care for AA, filtering, and HDR all at once but I do and hence why ATI wins in my book.

But I agree, a 7900GT is a fantastic card and way better than the 1900GT. For comparisons, it should be a choice between a 7900GT vs a X1800XT or 1900XT. buy the card from NewEgg, it'll be tons cheaper than best buy.

I find that eVGA or XFX usually make the best Nvidia cards and PowerColor or Shapphire make the best ATI cards- look for those two companies when shopping.

Thanks for everyones input. I went with the 7900 and am very happy with it. That should do until next spring when I get my bonus from work and build a new pc and hand my current one down to the kids!

lol...newegg has a 1900gt for 230, while the majority of the 7900gts are 270...only people who buy prebuilt systems buy video cards from best buy.

if ATI got there act together with there drivers I would have stayed with them and been a loyal customer for 10 years since my first ATI card..but seems that they can't and NVIDIA can with there driver support, I went with them..never looked back at ATI ever since 2002 :)
