Note: this is a legal code I had for sale. Not a beta or anything similar.

I sold a code on ebay and the auction just ended. I received an e-mail from this guy with a couple questions. The first was to ask if I will send the code via e-mail, the second was to tell me his e-mail address had changed. He won the auction and sent me this e-mail.

ya i won just wanted u to know i was hacked so i changed my email to (removed)@live.com so just send me the code thanks by

Should I be leery about sending the code to this e-mail?

Who's to say this isn't the guy who hacked the account?

Sounds like he wants you to send it to his other email and say you never sent the code, report him to ebay and maybe paypal.

Scorch, do you mean just e-mail through ebay and not even bother sending it through the address he gave me? I'm not sure how to send an e-mail to a specific address through ebay.

It doesn't really matter because eBay & Paypal do not offer protection from digitally delivered goods. So if he's going to try to scam you, he'll win because Paypal will ask you for the tracking number of the package you shipped to him, and you emailed something.
