In local (to me) Beacon, NY, there is a retro arcade that's full of all sorts of classics from pinball machines to arcade games. The place is fantastic and so is the guy running the business.

The owner's name is Fred Bobrow and he needs your support. Apparently, there were laws written which banned pinball and arcade games from the city of Beacon, as well as many other places. In this day and age, to take something unique that could very well bring people to the area and throw it away because of a law that nobody cares about anymore is ridiculous. Arcane laws like this are overlooked every day and up to officials whether to enforce or not. Similar to laws that were developed in order to identify witches, keep women in check, and whatever other stupid reasons, this law has no bearing on today's society.

After watching the story, you get a glimpse as to how much time and work went into the creation of this place. It's sad that nobody cared to save him the trouble of setting up and running the business in the first place. This story highlights certain things that are wrong in government today. Please choose to support the cause and contact Beacon officials. My friend has set up a facebook group that gives some information and discussion, or you can use my links below.

City of Beacon Officials - Please contact officials, and please keep it clean! Tell them you want them to save retro video gaming NOW, not when they get around to it. Big issues take time, this is not a big enough issue to waste resources on. Also, the longer they wait, the less likely it will be to reopen. http://cityofbeacon.org/departments/city-council
