help with DS screen calibration

I recently bought a used DS with a slightly scratched touchscreen. I replaced it with a touchscreen unit from dealextreme, and now the taps are off all over the place. It seems that most of the screen is registering too low. If I tap the DS start button it starts the GBA game. I tried the calibration routine and that didn't help. Any ideas?
