How bad is the Silent Hill HD Collection

I'll preface this by saying that I already have the original Silent Hill 2 (Xbox - completed the game) and Silent Hill 3 (PS2 - have not beaten it so please, no spoilers).

I've been debating getting the HD version for the XB360 and finally picked it up using BBY's B2G1 sale. However, I've been reading some really bad user reviews about it ranging anywhere from "the lip-sync is slightly off" to "they removed the fog" to the obligatory, "this game sucks."

Since I have not opened it yet, should I return it for something else?

What's your opinion?

The HD Collection butchered these games. Personally, I would return it. I loved the MGS, ICO/Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War HD collections - but the Silent Hill one was just plain awful.

According to the developers of the ports, they were given incomplete codes for the games. So you are essentially getting incomplete versions of the games, which explains the abundance of glitches and bugs.

Actually I remember reading the main issue with Silent Hill HD was on the PS3 console. I'm sure there are still bugs on the 360 version but nothing game breaking. If you compare the reviews on amazon, the ps3 version has terrible reviews while the 360 has very good reviews.

I played it on the PS3, so that might very well explain my less-than-enjoyable experience.
