How is the psp compatible with the ps3?

Anyone know,because I had a psp and some asshole stole mines,but I'm getting another next month,But I do have a ps3 now.

I've seen a demo video of the PSP being used are the rear view mirror in the new Formula1 game for the PS3. There is also this:

"the PSP is able to be used as a remote viewer for all of the PS3's media content."
