Since everyone is asking for people to get them one when they can't find one on their own, let's try to keep the requests to this thread here:

Dear webOS developer:

We have opened the next chapter for webOS, and we understand that you must have many questions. Yesterday we announced that we will focus on the future of webOS as a software platform but we will no longer be producing webOS devices. While this was a difficult decision, it's one that will strengthen our ability to focus on further innovating with webOS as we forge our path forward. Throughout this journey, our developers will continue to be a vital part of the future of webOS.

We will continue to support, innovate and develop the webOS App Catalog. Our intent is to enhance our merchandising and presentation of your great products and to continue to build our webOS app ecosystem.

As many of you are aware, we are currently scheduled to hold many developer events around the world. We are planning to continue with these events, however, due to the recent announcements; the nature of them will change. These updates will be posted on our events registration site this coming week. We are eager to present to you the updated strategy for webOS and to hear your feedback.

Lastly, I wish to express our sincere appreciation for your ongoing support for webOS and the many teams responsible for it here at HP. This is a particularly dynamic time in the mobile industry and sometimes tough decisions need to be made about not only what to do, but also what not to do. This has been one of those times. Together with our great webOS developer community, we are confident that we will meet the challenges ahead and build momentum for optimal success.

We will be communicating with you frequently over the next few weeks and we look forward to hearing from you throughout this process.

Thanks for your support

Richard Kerris
VP webOS Developer Relations

It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!
It looks like people are having success pushing orders through HP Small Business (http://www.hp.com/sbso/). The cart continually throws "Out of memory" and "Overflow" errors, but will continue through the process if you keep refreshing.
I got 1 though for 1, but im hoping it actually ships =[
You guys can get it off of Sams Club now too if you have a membership.
Both models are out of stock on their website.

Whats the trick? I've refreshed and redone it a 100 times now. Any other tips?

Wow, how some people love Chinese made consumer goods. I would feel guilty buying one of these and sending a more dollars over there.

HP's stock dropped 20% on Friday, the SD effect strikes again!!!!! Just kidding, but it sucks for people who own HP shares though.

Is still in stock in Amazon, just a seller is selling for cheaper at the moment. Anyway is full retail price at the moment.

...at local Sam's Club or online? Cause 5hours ago, I went to my local Sam's Club and the only model they had was the 32GB, and the price was still the regular price!...and they had like a hundred or so, I believe.

I just looked online and the price has dropped. However you can't get one shipped so you'll have to call or go to a sams club.

For those who ordered on HP.com in the last few hours, I just got my confirmation email. I ordered about an hour ago, there is definitely a delay on HP.com with everything (from ordering to confirmation). But knowing how these deals go, I'll believe when I see it.

That's what my questioning, cause I want to know as soon as possible if the local store will liquidate them also...

I've tried to get one 32gb all day and no luck anywhere. I want one for my music classes so I can show my students some music videos of songs they're learning. Guess I have no choice to offer to buy one from someone who gets an extra here, and if anyone wants to help a guy out, I'll throw in a free sealed game or extra cash or something...

Our local Sam's Club only had the 32GB version and sold the only two they had this morning. The price tag said "seasonal item" and the price was $149.00. As with Sam's clearance, though, price varies by store.

i just bought mine from bestbuy for $108.28 the Bestbuy in Amherst, NY has a few left I believe but they are not selling the 32GB one, also if you find it at other places like costco or Sam's Club you might as well bring it to register to see if the price drops there. Mine rang up $400 or something but then they price matched it or whatever and it went down to $108.28. A pretty neat deal for half a laptop.

just ordered mine from Amazon. $399 now, $99 later. No need to wait until they drop the price as it is inevitable they will. Will just price adjust then.

I'm gonna laugh when Amazon ends up not dropping the price.

fuck, then I should go out as soon as possible to check if the price was adjusted, fuck ! Will report back if they have em in stock!

Price adjusting with Amazon is really hit or miss since it isn't their official policy to do so. It depends on the rep you get and if you can talk them into just giving you the credit instead of you returning and rebuying. You might end up having to just return it.

Just remember, Sam's Club clearance pricing varies by location. Good luck!
The best buy closest to me has just started to sell the 16gb for $100. Good luck.
My local BB sent all their TouchPads back to HP. The guy said BB would lose a lot of money if they decided to sell them for $100/$150.

Oh well guess my wallet is safe...for now.

Lol my aunt wants one now and all the best buys near us have put out the same out going message...."thank you for calling best buy" (pause) "if you're calling about the HP Touchpad we don't sell them anymore"
Damn they must've had a crazy day if its come to that.

After their employees and their friends raided the stores stock, they spent all day taking calls asking for HP Touchpads. Serves them right. At least, I hope that is what happened at the Carrollton, KY Wal-Mart. What a douche.
Amazon took them down the site again.
They still have them. I placed an order last night before they took the 16gb down just to keep one on hold. (i didnt pay for it)
I already own an iPad 2 and absolutely love it. Should I even bother getting one of these?
No
Carry on

damn if I knew they were going to be so difficult to find I should have bought another one, but I didn't want to seem like some lowlife hoarder

Since I think I've got one ordered (maybe two), I'd done here, gentlemen. Here's the combined stats for the SD threads now that I'm not watching them:
