It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

I saw it at 399 in my cart. in stock. clicked on it and was taken to product page that showed it as a lightning deal. clicked on that and checked out.

I might throw mine back if I can score the 32GB. I expect others are thinking the same so I wouldn't be surprised if they come back in stock AFTER the 32gbs go on sale.

Last night, I called a BB 30+ minutes away from me because their stock showed a positive value and was told that the best way to "reserve" my touchpads was to buy them at the full price and get an adjustment the next day. So I promptly paid my money, and waited for the confirmation email that never came, but still drove the 40 minutes to the store to get there when they opened.

I went to the in-store pickup line, talked with the lady working there, she said I had no confirmed order. I told her I had already been charged and the email I received said I wouldn't be charged until inventory was confirmed. I asked a guy behind me who had a confirmation email when he pre-ordered and he said "7AM this morning, bro. Got my confirmation at 9."

So I turned back to the girl and asked her how that makes sense for his order from TODAY gets confirmed, but my order from last night does not. Then she responds with "Well, we must not have had the stock last night". So I looked over at the stacks and stacks of Touchpads they were giving out to the people with the tickets, and I was like "Well, clearly you have stock now."

"Oh, we can't sell those, those are for people who waited in line."

"Yeah, but I have already PURCHASED mine. That guy right over there right now is getting money out of his wallet NOW to buy one. I did that over 12 hours ago. And now you have nothing for me because you're handing them out to people who didn't prepay or who paid like 3 hours ago. Can I speak to a manager?"

The manager came over and basically just said "I don't know what you expect me to do about an glitch in the system like this. Take it up with Best Buy, here's the number and my name. I need to help other guests now." and then walked away. My BF who was with me asked him "So we're basically just screwed even though we've already been charged and you seem to have way more than enough on hand to give us what we bought?"

"Yes." was all he responded with. I am so furious.
 
I think I somehow got in on the 16gb from Amazon...but it shows it's for $399 shipped and sold by Amazon. I'm going to chat with a CSR about getting it adjusted right now.

literally just got back from waiting in line at my bestbuy, they had about 80 total units with the 32gb/16gb combined, gf and I picked one up, so damn grateful for it
 
Finally got one 16 gig via Lightning Deal at Amazon, $99.99! Yay!

For those that tracked it down through the product page/all sellers and paid $399, Amazon appears to be doing price adjustments too!

I would guess that Amazon will sneak an unadvertised Lightning Deal on the 32 gig at some point today. The 16 gig lightning deal was unannounced.
 
Hooray! Posting from my 32GB Touchpad. I'm glad I bought it full price as soon as I heard this whole rigamarole going on.
 
On one side; Damnit, Amazon had it! I could've used Prime! Nooo!

On the other side; mine's guaranteed to come in, I didn't have to wade and beg for mercy on the whole Lightning Deal thing (which is absurd in my eyes), and I have food.

Choices :(
