It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

SO whats the deal with HP website. They charge you up front for it instead of at shipping time? I did not even know about the lightning deal page so I had no hope of getting that haha. I should of payed more attention to last few pages of the thread XD

I don't think there has been any concrete plans from newegg. I wouldn't be surprised though if these showed up as shellshocker deals sometime soon.

That sucks =[ I got 3 no problem though HP/Bestbuy for my Brother (Holiday gift), Mom (for business trips) and Dad (He wanted a tablet).

Its a rolling authorization. It'll stay pending until it ships. Its there way of making sure you have the cash for the item.
 
I'm waiting for Radio Shack to open but I don't even know if they have it in stock and/or sale. I can see the display model... Does anyone know if anyone has had any luck at Radio Shack? I don't want to wait if I don't have to and possibly miss more online sales...

Except that they limited them to 1 per person (corporate said limit of 1 of each model but my store was saying only 1 of either) so its difficult for it to be worth it at 1 per person. I don't doubt that some will be reselling but the scalpers grabbing dozens at a time aren't going to get very far with Best Buy.

Also, re-sellers typically use returns as a method to unload their unsold merchandise for no loss. With Best Buy not accepting returns on this thing, they would be stuck with it.

Haha! I see what you did there... Autocorrect sucks... I ordered for in-store pick-up and was told all online orders SHOULD be cancelled but the emplayee said YMMV. Mine went through but the idiots wouldn't give it to me. I had to stand in line and there weren't enough...
 
Sounds like a pain in the ass to try and get one now. The BB's around me all sold out immediately as soon as they hit the floors around 6PM yesterday. All other options feel very luck of the draw. What's my best bet at this point?

All 3 of my Best Buy store shipped orders were declined but I finally received my order confirmation email from HP. Bittersweet but at least I got one.

Well I got a confirmation for one of my four. This one was from HP Academy on Friday night. Hoping that my other 3 three at HP SMB go through as I have a few family members that want in on this now.

I'm guessing the warehouse doesn't work on weekends. I haven't had any movement on mine, and I got it when it first went live on late Friday/early Saturday.

Hopefully we get a tracking number first thing tomorrow.

Same here, i got it at 2am i think on Saturday morning. Mine say 3 days shipping pending, I called OD and they said it would go through but idk. Crossing my fingers while trying to see if i can snag one from amazon for insurance purpose LOL :)

Yeah a couple of the links in his article are good also. It seems like the homebrew community is pretty active and I am going to assume it will get even better now. I am a tech lover but a novice at making changes like this...I will baby step into these waters if it means better performance and some cool apps.
 
I just messed with the smb site for like an hour and finally got an order to be submitted, hoping it goes through. I just checked my order history and it seems through all the loading and reloading I submitted two orders, so maybe I will get two, but just as long one of them processes ill be happy.
 
I ordered 3 32 gb off hp on friday night got email confirmation today that there ready to ship and I used paypal and the coupon . So people who are saying it wasnt working if use the coupon or paypal where dead wrong .
 
Can anyone who did a BB in store pick up report on how it went when they called Customer Service for their refund/adjustment today?

Was able to pick up a second one at BestBuy today even though the order from yesterday was lost.
Waited for my confirmation after ordering at BestBuy last night and still didn't get one even after 30 minutes after opening today.
They found my order as not released yet...I'm standing there looking at stacks of where people ordered after the price drop...told them that wasn't fair since I ordered at full price and yesterday evening...the manager agreed and was able to find one in a neighboring store and had it held for me...

32gb for me yesterday...16gb today for the wife...these things are nice and worth the effort of finding one.

I already have the Archos 101 tablet that I picked up not to long ago from Kmart with rewards points. Man I thought I got a deal with it when I was out the door with it at around $200, but this is even better.

SMB website is officially a POS now. Every damn time I click on the cart it either says it's loading and doesn't do anything or it just completely fails to load anything. What's the point of even bothering. Enjoy your damn touchpads if you were lucky enough to get one. It's not even worth it at this point.
 
Just grabbed the 32gb through HP small business site. I refreshed for hours on my laptop but only for a few minutes on my Ipod before it went through. Had to pay tax though....kinda sucks
