It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

No real pics yet, but the product number matched a Google search. It matched a 64GB White model that released and was cut on Friday. Apparently Europe has them over there, but I haven't seen a picture of an actual one. Here's the product/part number if you want to Google it: FB456UT#ABA
 
Just got home from a BB about 50mins away. They got them in tonight. I called each of the nearby stores where the stock locator showed "In Store Only", and each of them received a shipment tonight. I was told the stores that already had them on order are still receiving them from the warehouse and once they receive said shipment, that's it. The stores that did not have them on order from the warehouse before Sunday will not be receiving any. All locations sold out within 90 mins for over a total of 40-50 touchpads at each location.

The trackers aren't real-time. I called one that had a similar in-stock message, but when I called I got an automated message saying they didn't have any.

That message was not accurate tonight. I called 4 stores that all received them tonight, and all 4 had that automated message.
 
I'm still mad at macmall cause of the sell. Waited 4 hours on hold (3 a.m. to 7 a.m roughly) got my order through had the guy double check said everything was good. Only to get a call a few hours lately saying my card didn't go through. Come to find out he typed my credit card security code wrong, he typed 1223 instead of 123. And the worst part is it was for my brother and his special needs son.
 
I ordered through HP's website on Saturday and Sunday getting errors each time but eventually getting a confirmation number after numerous F5 clicks. But i called today after getting no email and they said my order is going through and that I actually have one 16GB and one 32GB on order. Still no date for shipment. Anyone else received theirs from HP yet.

There is a chance people that bought at $399/$499 won't even get a refund at all, even a partial refund. Newegg's site currently states "Sales are final--no refunds/returns for any reason." on the HP Touchpad page. Sucks for people that bought at $399/$499 and were expecting to get compensated the difference. And if they couldn't even return them now...why...that would just be the cherry on top for me. :lol:

used the change sku on the stock checker trick, says one store in my entire area at BB has them for IN STORE ONLY. anyone ever seen that on the stock checker at best buy??

I'm actually rather happy to get a comic book reader as well. i get most of my comics for free anyway, but i didn't get every issue of Fear Itself and missed out on Age of X.
 
I'm not reading any pages cause I don't care about these at all but I heard that Best Buy is going to be receiving more shipments of these. I heard my inventory manager talking about it with an employee asking about them. Don't know if it's every store but we are a small store so I imagine everyone getting them. Don't be mad at me if this doesn't pan out for you, just thought I'd share.
 
Thought I had a chance. Checked online and Best Buy store locator said in store only. Didn't want to ruin the deal by calling so I ran over to the store to pick a tablet up, but talked with two employees who said they all were gone the first day and nothing else was coming in. Oh well. Now I see some stores are restocking. Should have forced the employee to check the store locator. : (

Sounds like if you managed to take a huge chance on Newegg with a full-price purchase, you might have lucked out on taking that chance.

Since they deactivated both SKUs, it's probably out of luck to try and get any of them at the reduced price. Guess they must be the last bigger-name holdout that was still sitting on them or holding onto them, since Costco sent them all back to HP.

Did anyone order from HP SMB and not get any email whatsoever? I cant check my order now with the status redirecting to the home page but I have a pending charge for it. Hoping it gets through.

I know that in my area, Office Depot delivers them in their own trucks. No third party shipping. Maybe its the same in yours?
 
Insight said my order "release" what is that suppose to mean? However, have never received Email Confirmation.

No, I was the guy that gave you a hard time, pointing out that I ordered it 1.5 hours before you posted the link, lol.
If mine changed to show a fedex number, I'm sure yours will too.
Until I wake up and it shows me where the order is at, I'll still consider this as a false alarm. Next to the "quantity shipped" part it still says 0. So the fedex number may not be important. Unless it means theyre preparing the number for it...idk, excited though.
Let me know if yours updates, or if anyone elses Insight order does.
I ordered it at 6pm Pacific time. the 32gb.
