We have opened the next chapter for webOS, and we understand that you must have many questions. Yesterday we announced that we will focus on the future of webOS as a software platform but we will no longer be producing webOS devices. While this was a difficult decision, it's one that will strengthen our ability to focus on further innovating with webOS as we forge our path forward. Throughout this journey, our developers will continue to be a vital part of the future of webOS.

We will continue to support, innovate and develop the webOS App Catalog. Our intent is to enhance our merchandising and presentation of your great products and to continue to build our webOS app ecosystem.

As many of you are aware, we are currently scheduled to hold many developer events around the world. We will be communicating with you frequently over the next few weeks and we look forward to hearing from you throughout this process.

Thanks for your support

It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Yeah, my Onsale order was cancelled as well. Pretty damn bummed.. especially when they took this long to finally get around to cancelling orders.. I will be leaving a bad reseller rating for this crap company.
Just checked my order status for Insight again, and it says:

Anyone else getting this?
Sounds like what happened to my canceled orders. They changed the status to Completely Shipped, then deleted the item in the order, then started to delete the actual order. Would be happier with just a big CANCEL status instead of the removal/misleading 'complete' nonsense.

If the feedback for onsale on amazon becomes available at a later date like i hope it does, then ill be sure to bump this thread with the info.
When did HP change touchpad pages to coming soon instead of out of stock?

I wonder what soon is defined as by them, if it's anything like their shipping or email we'll be waiting a while.
Actually, I tried to cancel my order of accessories from HP 10 minutes after i placed it. They said it was too late cuz they were shipped.
Gee, they sure are speedy when they find out you wanna cancel, but it takes them a few days to ship out a Touchpad I guess.

You can't. If an order is cancelled you can't leave feedback. This sucks because they handled this situation horribly and there should be repercussions to this for their company.
This shit is ridiculous. No wonder your Touchpads didnt sell HP. $500 for an inferior Ipad clone, $50 god damn dollars for the case and $80 for the charger?? Really? I spent over $200 for 2 cases and a charger from Walmart just now hoping they adjust the price. Otherwise I'll just return them. What a joke HP. Idiots.
I take it you've never bought Apple accessories? Crap earbuds = $40. Rubber band "case" = $40 IIRC.

I forgot my MacBook Pro's charger at home when I went to my girlfriend's and had to drive 20 miles each way to go get it. I wondered how much an extra charger would be so I could leave one there like I did for my Dells.

$79.

Gas for the trip back was $5. I'll just remember my charger or drive home for it. Screw Apple.

what are my chances if the best buy inventory checker says they are in stock...
slim to none i am guessing
Is it worth calling them up? prob not.... if they are in stock and some kid sees they are, they wont be for long...

More than likely your order will be canceled. Insight ran out of stock around 4am on the 22nd. Sale started on the 21st. But in any case. "Contact Sales Rep" goes to "Released" to "Credit Ok" to "Shipped."
LOL...friggin' hilarious. Did you get the info you needed though at least first? She probably had a great voice and 'personality' but her looks might have been deceiving. Or she could have been a total hottie. :wall:
Yeah I was one of the ones to try this after someone else on here did and it worked well. She gave me every store in my area that was receiving a shipment and how many each store was receiving.
Yeah, mine got cancelled. And I ordered within 5 minutes of the deal opening up.

What a scummy company. I love how they immediately charged my account knowing full well they wouldn't have the stock to ship it, cancelled 3 days later, and still have not refunded my debit account.

Amazon should give them the boot.
Amazon controls payments for 3rd parties. They hold the money until seller marks as shipped.

I ordered the 32gb from OnSale around closer to 7pm eastern time. No cancellation yet. I selected the next fastest shipping method to next day. Heres to hoping.

Ugh...my order was cancelled as well. If any CAGer out there might have an extra one to part with (either 16 gb or 32 gb) and would be able to sell for price + ship please PM me. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

So I hear a frantic bang and ringing off my doorbell at 10:15 am I get out of bed put on my glasses run to the door and open it. Laying at the doorstep is a square package there from officedepot....I say to myself could this be a MIRACLE,!!! could they have somehow sent me a free touchpad!!! upon further shaking the shit out of the box it was not :/ . the mailman just delivered it to the wrong house I live in 13855 package was supposed to go to 13955 FML !!!!!

Looks like I'm finally getting one. My cousin got in on this deal early. He ordered two from BestBuy.com early morning on day one of this thing. Two separate orders. One was in-store pickup and the other was for delivery. He figured at least one, if not both would be canceled. The in-store pick up one notified him at 8:30 am that it was ready, which was weird because it was Sunday and Best Buy doesn't open until 11am. He picked it up without a hitch. Then the other one shipped out Monday and arrived today. I'll be buying that one from him.

I didn't think his second would ship, especially after the tweet from Best Buy saying many orders were canceled. So I ordered one of the 16GB from Barnes & Noble, only to have it canceled a day later. Which reminds me, has anyone complained to B&N about this and received any kind of credit? This is the second time in about six months I've ordered something from them that was canceled. The first time was some really cheap blurays.

I ordered from HP SMB on 08.21.2011 around 2pm EST. I have only gotten the "Your HP TouchPad purchase has been received" e-mail. I have no order confirmation e-mail yet. 2 days ago it was said to have been accepted and processed. Now, this is what I see.

From SMB Order Status, Still getting:
Order Date: 08.21.2011.
When I click "View" I get the following error in Firefox 6, IE8, IE9, Chrome, and Windows Safari:
Your request was unable to be processed at this time please try again later.

*********************
From The Order Status via Reference Number and Date Purchased (08.21.11 - 2pm EST):
Order Date: 08.23.2011
HP Received: 08.23.2011
Item Status: admin
Requested: 08.24.2011

The FedEx HP Reference feature shows no results either.
I think what angers me the most is just the lack of consistency.

They did it late last night or early this morning.

BUT - now their 'notify me when available' page has now been edited to say 'notify me IF available'

Yeah, I just got word from a family member that our orders were cancelled due to the fact that the servers couldn't keep up with the orders placed which had it to show unreliable stock status. *sigh*

Placed two onSale orders via amazon on Sunday. One at 5:09 EST and one at 5:53 EST, both 16 GB, standard shipping, each order just had a single TP. Just got the email that my 5:53 order is canceled. 5:09 order however, is still alive. That has to be a good thing, right?

HP TouchPad only

I fired off this comment to Amazon via their Help link, then Contact Us:
The seller of this item, onSale, far, far oversold their available inventory for this item when offering it up for sale. Due to this, they had no idea about the number of orders they could fulfill and it took them three business days from the date of the order to figure out what they could fulfill and what they couldn't. Since this order was canceled, I cannot leave feedback for the seller so that the "1 out of 5" score that they would receive from me isn't able to be left.

This seller has deceived tens of thousands of Amazon customers about their available inventory for the item on this order, as well as the 16GB version of this item. I know that all this seller had to do was to put a truthful inventory count on Amazon.com and this issue would never have happened. This seller put on hold tens of millions of dollars in unavailable funds from all of their customers, and they didn't have a clue about their inventory for this item.

This seller should never be allowed to sell on Amazon again due to the horrific customer service they have provided to tens of thousands of customers.
I left it with "I need assistance with an order I placed", then clicked on the "My order is not shown" button. I put my canceled order # in the "Please enter your order number (if known)" field.

On the "Tell us more about your issue", I selected "More order issues", then "Merchant or marketplace sellers" and then "Feedback about a seller".

Clicked on the "email" button for contact method, put in the text above into the box and then "send email".

I ended up ordering three touchpads under my name all on 3 separate orders and on three separate credit cards. My 2pm and 4pm order was canceled but my 3:30 order hasn't been canned yet so being hopeful. If it goes through I am willing to bet that onSale just choose people at random on who they will deliver to.

NVM just got the third cancellation a half an hour late.

My OnSale Amazon order for the 16gb has been cancelled. I ordered it around 11am central standard time on Sunday the 21st. BUMMER! Where should I look next? Just wait for HP to notify me?

for those that ordered from zones.com i just called about mine and they said that all the orders are on back-order and they will let us know the status of our orders by friday.
Ordered at 5:12pm EST -- now cancelled.

Thanks for nothing "Onsale"!
Haha, damn dude. And YOU were the one who first posted the lower price. I'm starting to think my estimate of them even having 10 touchpads in stock was a bit generous. That's fucking ridiculous. People were ordering from them for a good 3 hours, and now they're going to claim they were sold out in less than 4 minutes. What a fucking joke.

One interesting thing to note, I placed two orders with Onsale. One for my dad at around 4:40 PM CST, and one for myself about 30 minutes later. So far, I've received one cancellation email...for the first order I placed. I'm sure the one for the later order is coming, but what piece of shit system are they using to handle this?

And....Canceled by Onsale. I doesn't matter what time you order them because overnight and expedited shipping gets theirs shipped first over people using standard shipping.
Newegg has removed the touchpads from the site, so I guess we shouldn't expect a price drop anymore.
They're giving everyone who has ever ordered one from them a price adjustment. Which is the best move I've seen any retailer do so far.
onSale FTW!

Where's the upload photo button? I got 2 cancels, but I got 2 shipped!
You would order that Many so that others wont be able to.

Amazon also did PM....Kmart also did PM...Buy also did PM...Sears...forgot others

Mine still hasn't been canceled from OnSale yet.. maybe they lied and went buy quanity purchased or delivery method instead of first come, first serve. They are still probably trying to make as much money off of it as possible.
