It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Got back from my local Best Buy earlier and they were just selling out as I arrived. Line inside was probably 50 people long and they only had 15 units left. They did receive stock of them, but they put them out today instead of after closing like the salesperson told me over the phone earlier Oh well. At this point it's HP Direct or nothing for me. The bright side is I don't have to go wait at the Best Buy tomorrow AM :).

haha I tried my luck and told the truth. (which was that I informed my boss to buy one and is now mad at me.) However I was told basically to file a report/leave feedback as I can in 3 days.

Obviously not. I was the one telling people about Onsale and I ended getting fucked along with 99.9% of everyone else, even though I ordered at 5:02 well before all these other people who ended up getting theirs!

Onsale deserves complaints whether you got one or not. It shouldn't take a vendor 72 hours to cancel orders that they ended up confirming. They have no excuse whatsoever, not to mention not fulfilling on a first come first serve basis, which was also a total lie.
 
one best buy by me got a shipment but wont sell them until they open tomorrow morning. I have to go to work unfortunately. also there will be a huge line i'm sure. they only have about 30 of them all together.
 
Got my shipping confirmation from onSale earlier today as well. I ordered a 16GB 5:09 EST. My second order around 5:52 will most likely get cancelled but I am happy just to get one. My friend will be upset though.

I was at SouthCoastPlaza BB today looking for the case, and there was a line 100 deep, hope this wasnt the case for them, haha its gonna be a long hot day for them :(
 
Yep my bb got some today, and because I had to work I missed out! Curse you non 9-5 working people lol, so anyone that wants to help out and share their bounty of extra touch pads, i would be most appreciative.

The guy I chatted with was also no help and said "there is nothing we can do" about this situation. I'm guessing very few people ended up getting a credit out of this.

Eh, I just woke my ass up on Sunday morning and waited in line at Best Buy. Pretty painless affair aside from having to stand and wait for a measly hour. Now, I can surf the internet sitting on the can, just like God intended.

I checked one of my nearest and they said they didn't have any in stock. But when I again checked again it said that same thing for several other stores, but said "UNAVAILABLE" earlier today. So I only asked because I was just wondering if the others who were successful going to their local stores saw that same status or if their stores came up as "AVAILABLE NOW!".

Very shocked but my Onsale Amazon order shipped today. I ordered on the 21st. I had given up all hope. Now, just praying that it doesn't get lost in this stupid hurricane.
 
ok, odd here, my HP SMB order still shows admin / proccessing, but they no longer have a pending charge on my CC....I got in on it early sunday so now I'm starting to the sinking feeling that my orders canceled...
 
Just scored one at the morse rd in cbus oh. They got them in at 8pm an hour before they closed. The weird thing was at 7pm it showed all locations in Columbus as at store only for about 40 minutes. Then it only showed the morse rd location just before 8.

I know no others had them in stock before 8 as I had them check the system for all local locations And it pulled 0 to all including morse rd. When I saw that all others showed unavailable besides morse rd I figured they got some in stock. Sure enough I showed up at 8:20 and they said they had literally just taken them off the truck and got them behind CS (I saw them carrying the last 4 over).

Don't know if 7 is when they update inventory here or if when they get a shipment it to an area it shows on all stores then once checked in it will update. So heads up to anyone trying to snag one, if you see all showing in store then keep refreshing you may get lucky.

Oh I was 2nd in line at 8:20 and by 8:30 their was 35 people waiting on one of 20 touchpads...

Oh and calling was useless. I was on hold for 20 minutes while driving to the store. By the time I would have spoken to someone it would have been way too late

By this logic (which isn't really wrong), you should not store your toothbrush in the bathroom. Really. Not even in a little holder. Or even in some solution. Mythbusters tested this. Poop bacteria everywhere. Everything in your bathroom is covered in your poop whether you intend it to be covered in poop or not.

I don't necessarily find it funny that everyone else is having trouble getting it, I just kinda find it funny that the only two orders that I placed both shipped.

Got mine from BB today. A friend of mine at work got a tip from a BB worker that they would get a shipment at 4:00. Of course he didnt tell me about his tip until he had gone to BB, bought one, and came back. So another coworker and I tore over there to find they had about 8 left. I cant be mad at him for keeping the info to himself until he got one - I would have done the same I suppose!

I remember that episode. It's a shame that I think the show either got cancelled or moved to another channel now though. It was just about the only really interesting show to watch on Discovery anymore.

Mind you, if I were to buy a used Touchpad I would probably sanitize that thing like I do old gen games I buy at thrift stores and flea markets.;)
