It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Nothing at So-Cal/LA BBs is listing in stock. I want to head out to one in the morning before opening, but I feel like some blind squirrel.

Try Office Depot. Not sure if all of them in LA restocked, but I know some of them in SGV restocked recently.
 
Yeah, don't see any listings in LA either. Went to 2 today and one had a sign saying they're sold out and not sure if they'll get anymore and I asked the other one and they didn't know when they'd get in a new shipment :(
 
Ok, now I know mine may be defective because whenever there is light shining directly above the screen those grid dots are fucking noticeable....

Oh well, will contact HP when all this dies down

Which ones did you go to? I went to Pasadena in the morning, but missed it by 2. Missed it again in West Hollywood.

Ended up snagging the dock, keyboard, and case from Best Buy Mobile today all for $90. Now I just have to wait until Monday for the Touchpad to arrive (also from Best Buy). $250 for everything is a pretty great deal if ya ask me.
 
UPS can be dumb at times...my package was at the Buffalo location around 5:00pm. I just checked my tacking number and now it's rerouted through Syracuse..at least it'll be here tomorrow.

Earlier today my insight order was processing this morning. now it is as if I never ordered anything. Order summary is gone and I did not receive a cancellation e-mail. Anybody else having this problem and does it mean I am SOL?

LOL Mine has gone through New Stanton(which I believe is by Philly someplace) to Harrisburg(at least an hour or so away to the WEST) instead of heading to the north to my area.:roll:

At times I think UPS must employ some former USPS routing employees.:whistle2:#
 
If it says "Instore Only" doesn't that mean they just stocked up? Given that they would be sold out otherwise? If it says "unavailable" is that for when they are truly unavailable or just that they aren't available for us to see :(

Went to 2 in Culver City. The one in Westfield Mall and the other in some strip mall.

The question now is, do I call outta' work later (or just leave early) on the slim chance that I'll even get one, or should I just bet it all of my chips on my HP SMB order which I did get a conformation email for and a estimated delivery date of 08/29/11?...

I used this tactic to figure which one of LA ones restocked overnight. It worked, I was just a little too late. I would recommend getting there 2 hours early in all honesty.

Same here, it was shipped yesterday but I will be receiving it on the 30th of this month. I was surprised that this one was shipped while my another order was canceled. I ordered it on Sunday around 2 pm pst. I can't wait to play it for a week or maybe a month and then put it along with my stockpile of discontinued item.

Check the tracking in UPS not Amazon's link - Amazon said 30th, UPS says today(25th)

Hit one that says instore only, and only changed semi-recently. I got there an hour and a half early and missed it by 2, that's why I said 2 hours.

I got an email at 5pm that my oder will not be filled. Go to the website, they also have a message posted for all.
 
@MegamanX ... I had the same thing happen to me.

I placed my order with Insight on Monday when they had between 3,000 - 5,000 in stock.

My credit had been approved and the charges were pending. The order status was processing.

However, earlier today, the Order Status was changed to complete and the listed charges in the tracking were $0.00

Later in the day, I received an e-mail that said my order has been canceled. I'm pretty disappointed I didn't place an additional order with another place like Zones.com (not sure if the Zones people are having any better luck though).

At this rate, I am just hopeful that HP truly has quite a few left over in their warehouse and after the huge rush comes and goes. I'll be able to pick one up from HP or Best Buy or something.

I'm not in any major rush to get one. So if I'm able to get one, but I have to wait 2 - 4 weeks, I'll still be happy.

Also, if this doesn't work out. I wonder if Black Friday will have any real good deals on tablets this year. I doubt it'll be as cheap as $100, but maybe that $150-200 range.

It's only off by one day, checked the UPS and it says on the 29th.
 
Amazon says delivery on the 30th for mine, too, but UPS says the 25th. It'll be the 25th because I can tell by where it is that it doesn't have more than another day of travel. Just see where it is based on the location and you'll see UPS is accurate over Amazon on this one.

My frys had 2 cases on hold for some guy who called in. I said fuck that and took one of them.

Other than that...picked up a touchstone and keyboard from office depot.
 
Hmmm...the BB near my work that I can easily swing by during work hours is showing nothing, but a store 10 minutes away IS showing stock of the 32GB. If this is accurate, I could run down there; but I don't want to waste the time on a snipe hunt if not necessary. Grrrrr. What to do?

definitely get the touchstone. you can charge the touchpad while its still in the hp case...thats pretty sweet.
